Exotic Rasul

Loved it. It was so wierd to be left alone with beauty products in a shower/steam bathroom with someone else. We had mudwars. :P like a snowball fight, but with the mud. the steamroom is good for hide and go seek, and while im sure you could do "alternate" activities, you are on a cruise by yourselves (or at least we were). so you could do alternate activities anytime. you cannot however, have a mudfight in your room. I really suggest it.

If I remember correctly, you can book it for up to three. If true, that would definitely be something I'd like to add to my 'todo' list. ;)

You can book up to three, but it is sold as a romantic experience. The way it was described to us when we were in the room was that DH and I were each other's massage therapists. There was a shower, trays of ginger scrub and mud, and steam room (with three seats).

It can be whatever kind of experience you want it to be ;)

Excellent! Sounds like something i would love to do with my DH :rotfl: I'm pretty sure it will be easy to sell the idea!

That has to be the funniest response!:rotfl2:

You are given the glass of champagne as you enter into rainforest. They leave you there with the bill. And you can stay as long as you like. I actually met another dis'er in the rainforest! LOL. They didn't rush us out so it was the best of both worlds.
Too bad the Dream doesn't have it. I guess it'll be my Magic, Wonder treat!

I just made our reservation on our Cruise to Nowhere. Hope it's worth the $89. I booked the 11am slot, is that a good time? Or would 3:30 be beter? I don't know what kind of activities will be going on during the day that it might conflict with.

Wow, that was on to top of my list for things to do on the Dream--this is the first I heard that it wasn't offered. I am seriously bummed out!

Are there any other alternatives that anyone would recommend for couples time? I can't do a regular massage because I feel too confined & they trigger panic attacks. The exotic rasual was my perfect solution! Is it worthwhile just getting a rainforest pass for the two of us?

Thanks for any advice!

Anyone know if they truly wash this room thouroughly between couples? It sounds like some couples get very er romantic and I would not want to sit on the same tiles etc, you get my drift.

I'm so glad you posted this! :thumbsup2

We're going on our first cruise in Feb. and I heard a little bit about the Exotic Rasul. I am trying to decide if I should book it for me & my DH. He isn't really the "spa" type, but I think I may surprise him with it.

Neither is my DH, and he loved it as much as I did. The champagne afterward was nice, but those heated loungers in the Rain Forest room rocked. We've already said Raul is a must do from now on!

Can anyone comment on this treatment compared to the couples massage? I really wanted to do the couples massage but it's so pricey. This seems like it might be a good alternative? My only question is, is it really relaxing? Giving my BF a mud rubdown doesn't exactly sound like my idea of relaxation. :lmao:

Also, do these private rooms have a verandah?

TIA

We booked this for our first DCL in December it sounded so nice ! $89 is the price for 1-3 ppl in room and the ressies are scheduled with 45 minutes inbetween appts (assume to clean/set up room for next couple). I booked online at dcl site and you just select one of the guests names from your room. We booked 5pm and then we have dinner at 8 that evening, hoping we also get to be in the rainforest room for a bit afterwards and use the locker room showers to get ready for the night. Will let you know our review, but we are excited, never gone and done any spa type things before. :goodvibes

Here is the description from DCL's website:

Exotic Rasul
Duration 50 minPrice $89
This sensual body treatment conditions and nourishes your skin while uniting the 4 fundamental elements of water, fire, earth and air in one spiritually uplifting experience. Aromatherapy massage oils are worked gently into the body, and then you're invited to spread various miracle healing muds of different colors and grain sizes onto your limbs. Body and soul are elevated to a place of ethereal bliss. In the privacy of a secluded chamber and steam room, you can make liberal use of decadent facial care products, exfoliating creams and more.

This is an interior room so no verandah. The only treatment rooms that have verandahs are the spa villas which are pricey but worth it.

I too, want to book this. We are going on our first Disney cruise in a couple of weeks.
I have one question which may sound stupid. What is the door like? Is it glass or a solid door? I have a problem with claustrophobia...if it's like a typical sauna door I may freak out.
Thanks in advance for any responses

We just did the Rasul last week. It was ok but I probably won't be booking it again. We got no champagne or rainforest time... and the showers and steam rooms were coldish and had no steams. It was fine and the products were nice but just not exciting as I thought it would be.

You would not want a verandah unless "putting on a show" is something that you like. You are naked in this room. They give you a robe but you quickly shed that given all the products you have to use.

Tiffany - I am so sorry you did not have a good experience. I'm a little confused by your post - you said the showers and steam rooms were coldish and had no steams. There is only one shower and only one steam room in the Raul (*I should have clarified this - my DH and I have a joke about calling it the Raul room; sorry - it is just so natural for me to call it that now) room. When we were there in September (Wonder) the steam room or Turkish bath in the Raul room was quite warm - we had to use the "foot water" a few times to remain cool. The shower in that room was also quite warm. Rainforest comes with it, so I am a little confused as to why you didn't get this. Now the steam rooms off the rain forest room were varied for us in terms of warmth and steam. And the showers being out in the open like they are in there seemed chillier to me. Anyway - I hope you'll try it again sometime and make sure they know you didn't get your champagne and RF time.

Naked!! I imagined you could wear swimsuits or something. I think I may be too modest to do this treatment unless I did it solo.

I imagine you COULD wear a swimsuit if you really wanted to. I'm sure no one will stop you.

I can't tell from you sig, were you on the Magic or the Wonder?

I assume no tip is necessary as it is a self treatment? I had been booked for a spa villa for two, but this seems like a fun first experience in the spa on DCL and like a much better fit for my lack of savings so far! :O
