So we have a room only reservation for 9/30-10/3 2021 that we made at 499 days. This was before Disney shut down the bookings. I'm wondering what others think about the plans for this period when they do open this up. One thing that occurred to me was the possibility of Disney cancelling all reservations made prior to whatever plan they come up with to put everyone on a level playing field starting over. Any thoughts? One concern I have is they open package bookings first before ticket sales and we get locked out of park reservations. Heading down the rabbit hole...

I don't think they will cancel existing reservations, i don't think there were that many made especially for the uk packages. I dont think they will cancel just rooms either. Disney will of planned the 50th celebrations well in advance and were only pulled because of Covid, having to suss out capacity etc & thinking that what they are doing now may be long term. I'd imagine they would leave announcing what they are doing for the 50th to see how things improve.

I think they wouldn't of let the 2021 post September tix go on sale in the first place if they weren't going to honour them as covid was already happening before they were pulled.

Well, U.S. tickets are NOT on sale past Sept. 26, 2021; I'm guessing from your post that U.K. tickets are currently available. But I agree with you that I don't think WDW would cancel existing reservations.

we get locked out of park reservations.
I think they are really hoping that park reservations won't be necessary by next fall. They probably won't open up booking or tickets until they have a better idea of what will be allowed (capacity, health/mask regulations, cleaning regulations, etc.).

I'm pretty sure the UK had access to tickets/packages ahead of the USA before Covid 19 was heard of. Tix were pulled for the uk in June. I booked for Dec 21 a week before that.
