we'll be arriving for our 4th Trip to FW in a few days. One thing we've not seen anything about is Exercise rooms/areas. Does anyone know if there is an exercise room or are we able to use the one at the Wilderness Lodge?
We plan on being there for most of January and we're hoping for great weather

I only tried to use the WL Fitness Room facilities once and they said there was a charge to do so. Might have changed the rules since then but I have my doubts.

I DEMAND THIS THREAD BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY!!!!! This subject is vulgar and offensive and it sickens me that people would even think about excercise while on vacation!!!!!! What is wrong with the world today??? ;)

John, are you serious??? You mean that If I'm paying $255 a night (DURING VALUE SEASON) for a cabin at the fort, I'd be charged to work out at WL???? Simply because I choose actual wilderness over a lodge has nothing to do with wilderness, but calls itself the WILDERNESS LODGE?? That is nuts....not that I'd ever go as far as to actually excercise(I mean, c'mon...look at me!!!)....but I'd expect the option since Im paying as much, or more than many other resorts. Heck....are they charging us more to eat in the other resort restaurants, too?

if my memory serves me it is called sturdy branches and is actually located in the villa`s building near the villa`s pool. stuck my head in once and it looked nice but with the umpteen miles of walking a day i figured that would be enough for me. not sure what the price was but i do remember there being a charge to use the facility (maybe thats why it was never crowded) hope that helps. steve:yay:

You are correct, it is in the DVC Villa building.

There is an exercise trail that runs from FtW to WL. You can bike all over and walk or run. Bring hand weights/jump rope/yoga band if you must. Plus swimming is always an option.

My husband goes to the gym on a daily basis, and last time we were at Fort Wilderness (two years ago), he would have had to pay a fee in order to use the Wilderness Lodge gym. That, in itself, almost gave him a heart attack, so, he got out his hand weights and walked instead.

Is that on a map anywhere? I have heard about it and seen the trail on the Travel Channel shows, but don't know where it is actually located. Can someone give me a general idea?

Although we are going in June when it will probably be to hot and humid for me to run the path, I would like to walk it.

Thanks!

I did a few 12 oz curls this weekend..... that's enough exercise for me. Look what exercise did to Jim Fixx, NO THANK YOU>

I did a few 16oz. At the outdoor hockey game they charged $10 for a 12oz La Batts. Now that's a crime. We drank in the parking lot before the game though. I brought 2 cases and only had 2 bottles left over. There were 3 of us. I don't know how we missed those 2 bottles. :confused3
