Does anyone have any experience using this mode of transportation? We are using Super Shuttle to get to the hotel, but thought we'd try this option to get back to the airport before an international flight. Also, on a Friday night, what time would you say would be a good time to leave for an 11:15 PM flight? I tried going through the reservation process to see if they gave me a time, but they don't. It shows 8:05, but tells me to pick any available time.

I dont know what time you should leave for the airport because you don't say where you are leaving from ....:confused3

Re these an back to the airport, that is a good idea because then it is just you and your not sharing with other people, so you're not stressed out about what time you are going to get there. I think all the car services are about the same. I think they are all contractors, so the company doesn't matter as much as the driver you get and you have no control over that, so .....?

shuttle2LAX.com just added a flat-rate sedan car service to LAX that is very reasonable. It is only $90 and that includes the tip for the driver. I would check that out ... It is probably the cheapest thing around.

The Execucar service from Supershuttle. I've dealt with them before, and did have a problem with them. It did get resolved quickly, but keep your confirmations close at hand for pickups. I'm giving them a second chance for our Sept trip this year. Their rates to and from the airports is LAX:$72 and SNA: $51 This is for a Honda Odyssey, which is perfect for a family of 4 to 6. The Towncar is around $90 I think. Hope that this helps you out. There is a mandatory %18 tip, but I don't give it to them until I've been dropped off, because if the service is really good, I'm inclined to throw a few more dollars at them.

I'm not sure about the mandatory tip, I believe there was a box so you could uncheck it when you make your reservations online, and this way, you can tip in person with cash, according to service. We usually tip $10 for family of 4 with 2 suitcases and 2 small carryons.

In our experience, they have always been on time, and efficiently got us to our destination. I believe we have used their service around 4 times now, (8 times there and back) so we have come to trust them greatly. Their pick up time seems good to get you back to LAX but we usually change it to around 45 min. to an hour earlier JUST in case!!

By the way, I had a bad experience with super shuttle before, and so I make sure to ONLY make ressies through execucar website themselves. www.execucar.com

Edited to add: I am wondering - was the 18% tip mandatory if booking through super shuttle? I can't recall how it works, but I know when I booked with execucar website I didn't have to have the mandatory tip.

When I used them for my trip in Oct/10, I was told by the booking agent that there is an 18% tip, and if I wanted it added onto my bill. I told them NO, and only tipped them what I felt the driver deserved. I'm giving them a second chance at the end of Sept, as I do like the fact that I'm driving directly to and from the airport unless doing an on purpose detour to the IN-N-OUT burger in Fullerton:woohoo::woohoo:.
