"Excuse me, your child can NOT go on stage with Mickey":Jan 2013 TR! updates x 3! 6/5

You guys got a lot done! I'm glad to see another CoP fan ::yes:: I remember it being one of my favorite rides when I went when I was little, so it always holds a special place in my heart! Your DBF sounds like mine when it comes to characters haha he is less than thrilled to wait on line for them but he does it for me anyway. I told him it's good practice if we ever have kids :rotfl2:

Yay for another gorgeous day! :goodvibes

The Pooh ride is sooo sweet. I love the honey wall too. Normally, I'm such a germaphobe I would never touch such a thing. scared1: But they're Disney germs, magic germs you know?!! The stuff of imagineers!:lmao::rotfl2:

I love that you got to see the White Rabbit and Fairy Godmother. DD wanted to find the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter. A CM told us we had just missed the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter was only in parades. No worries, next time.:goodvibes

I noticed too that Presley looks so sweet and tiny next to Ariel. Too funny since she didn't seem to look that small even in the pics with Buzz and Woody. Her dress is amazing.:cutie:

Courtney - there's nothing like taking children to Disney and seeing the surprise and happiness on their faces.:hyper: I think most of the pics and footage from our first trip was just that! (I've since learned to include actual things we did in the parks :lmao:) I was just in awe of how happy my kids were seeing everything for the first time. You're going to love it! pixiedust:

Yay!!

Winnie the pooh is such a cute ride! Super adorbs!
You guys got so many characters in there, heck yes!! I'm glad that DBF follows along with those even if he doesn't really want to haha. I never do well on buzz! It never fails, I will FAIL AT LIFE on it.

Presley is absolutely adorable with Ariel, man, I cannot wait to have kids so I can take them to Disney. Heck, one of my friends wants to take his nephew and wants me to go with them and I'm SO DOWN FOR THAT!! This is why I love dismeets, I'm like, I'll totally spend an entire day meeting characters with your kids bahah!

Winnie the Pooh is so adorable!

He refuses to get excited about character meets but when they actually happen, he really does enjoy the fun ones! He's always talking about Ariel having the best meeting location! Yeah, Buzz and I don't work out. I can't possibly ever figure out what I'm shooting at because all the red lights look the same. :confused3

Thank you! I totally agree, I'm up for borrowing some children in WDW :rotfl2: Just not in a creepy way. :rotfl:

As I was looking at the pics of Presley and Ariel I was thinking "she looks so tiny!" and then you said the same thing! :lmao: Those are truly adorable.

You guys were getting a ton of stuff done that morning, and yes it is a totally different character experience than the one you had at DHS. :sad2: What is wrong with men?:rotfl:

Courtney and Katt you guys will love taking your kids to WDW. There is something so special about seeing the magic through their eyes. :goodvibes Adult trips are pretty great too though, enjoy them while you can.

:rotfl2: I don't know why she looks especially tiny there! I guess because Ariel has a super ginormous fin! She looks like a little doll

I'm glad you see my point about the multiple character meets. I figured you may since you have the most impressive list of characters met on your last trip. :lmao:

I do enjoy our adult trips and how we can just do things without the responsibility of children. I will enjoy them for a few more years. However, you are totally right. It is seeing the magic through their eyes that I can't wait for. DBF and I have watched Disney family trip videos together and he comments the same, that he can't wait to take kids to Disney, so I forsee many many Disney trips with future children. :goodvibes

CoP is such classic Disney to me. I can't help but adore it.

It must be in the unwritten DBF handbook that they must not be excited about character meets but then enjoy them in the end! :rotfl2:

It ended up to be such a gorgeous day after the morning fog lifted!

You are totally correct: Disney germs are different! :rotfl2: There are certain behaviors that come with living in NYC and being a nurse that I tend to try to let go in WDW.

The White Rabbit seems to be one of the more difficult ones to catch. We just kind of happened upon him at the right time. The only place we found the Mad Hatter last trip was at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast!

Aw thank you! She does look like a little doll. I know, I'm thinking she looks extra tiny because of Ariel's huge fins :rotfl2:

Aw I adore watching family trip videos with little kids in WDW. I can see how it is easy to focus just on their faces. I'm sure these are wonderful memories for you! I can not wait to have that experience (well I can wait a few more years :lmao:) :goodvibes

thanks for sharing you trip with us I am enjoying it very much.

Aw you're sweet! Thank you such much for reading! :goodvibes

There should be some sort of Disney magic that allows time travel so that a trip is always just a week away.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Totally agree 700000000%

Hey everyone! My office has felt like a zoo the past 2 weeks ugh. Because of the way our paperwork has to be done, our months end on the 20th so all paperwork must be in by the 18th so that it can be processed and sent off to the government by the 20th so that week is the worst ever. Then yesterday, a very negative article about our company was published in a highly respected newspaper so the past 2 days have been full of meetings and talks about policy. Not my two favorite things.

IN BETTER (and Disney related news), it seems that FREE DINING is to be released on May 9th for September! :cool1: I'm pretty excited. We've never done the DDP before so we were already really excited about our ADRs for this trip and it being free just makes it that much better!

Anyway, when we left off, we were meeting Marie and Presley was in this new place on the other end of the park:

PS I apologize in advance for the millions of photos to follow. The PP photographers took so many and they were all too cute not to share. If you are not as interested as I in 234333 very similar pictures, feel free to scroll through a little faster!

Now she's worried again.

I can't be certain what this pout was about since I wasn't there but I highly suspect it has something to do with the fact that they skipped meeting Goofy!

As you may recall, we had been meeting Marie while Presley was in storybook circus. So after that, the plan had been for us to stop in to see Mickey and the Princesses. However, the lines were longer than we wanted to wait so we FPed both of them. When I got the Mickey FPs, it shot out a surprise FP for Dumbo. I think it was around 12:20 at this point and our FPs for Dumbo, Mickey and the Princesses were for 1:10-2:10. Since we had no other plans at this point, we decided to hike across the park to Dumbo and use our surprise FPs.

Last trip, we hadn't rode because the lines were always crazy and I was excited to see the re-done version. We also knew Jen and Rick were in that direction so we called them to see if they'd want us to take Presley on with us but they declined saying they were in line to meet Pooh and Tigger and had just rode Dumbo about 4 times that morning. Presley is OBSESSED with Dumbo. Chris and I made it our mission to show her a bunch of Disney movies before our trip and for some reason, Dumbo is the one she got stuck on!

We stopped for PP pictures along the way.

This would have been a gorgeous shot if we weren't squinting!

Yay Storybook Circus! We hadn't come into this part of FLE earlier so I was pretty excited to see it!

DSCN0690 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

DSCN0691 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

We had some time to kill before our FPs were good so we popped into Big Top Treats for some sodas AND the purchase of a DUMBO stuffed animal. I thought it was fitting for the moment and it was totally adorable. I filled out the form to have it sent back to Pop and we went back outside and sat for a few minutes enjoying the atmosphere!

DSCN0692 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Soon enough it was time to ride. I love how pretty it is too! DBF was a little irritated when he realized that he had just walked across the park to a very child-oriented ride, especially because we were about to head back to where we just came from to meet Mickey and the Princesses. Oh well. It's Disney, that's what you do!

DSCN0693 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

While we were on Dumbo, Presley had some Hundred Acre Wood friends to meet!

After they were done, they met us by Dumbo. I knew we were headed back up to Main Street and they were off to Tomorrowland. I offered to take Presley with us to meet Mickey and the Princesses so Jen and Rick could hit Space Mountain together. I don't remember why but they didn't go for it. So we parted ways and agreed to meet up around 2:30 to watch the parade!

First up: Mickey himself! I was wearing a shirt just for him and he LOVED it. Like was jumping up and down pointing to it and himself until the Photopass photographer would acknowledge him "Yes Mickey, she does love you. We all know!"

DSCN0698 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

DBF decided to drive poor Rapunzel crazy and ask if she would make her hair glow for him. When she said, I can't because I lost the power when I cut it all off, he promptly responded with "Shouldn't it be short and brown then?" Yeah. He was that guy. Clearly we watch too much Tangled because this thought had literally been bothering him for months before the trip and he couldn't wait for Rapunzel's explanation. I don't remember her exact explanation but I have to say, she was right on her toes with it!

Next was Aurora, who was just ok. I feel like that's how all our Auroras' have been though. It may just be because Sleeping Beauty isn't one of our favorites so it just doesn't stand out to us.

Photo0676FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Photo0678FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

When we were done, it was still a bit too early for the parade but it was hot, we were tired and had just ran in circles for a bit so we decided to sit and wait anyway. We took turns going in the shops for some A/C and then Jen, Rick and Presley came to meet us!

DSCN0703 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Despite the fact that these photos are taken in front of a garbage can, they are some of my favorite pictures ever. Presley got really attached to Chris on this trip and she was always calling for him, even when we weren't with them so she was really happy to be sitting with him waiting for the parade.

Next time: our favorite parade ever!

I’m so pumped for FD!! Also that it looks like all the mods and deluxes are getting the regular ddp! Winning! SO excited! And yes, the WPE pizzas are one credit!

Presley’s too cute, I love how she looks so intensely while they sign the autographs! I know I’m impressed watching them when sometimes a character can maintain eye contact with you and keep conversation going while signing some elaborate signature and its awesome! That takes work!

Yay characters!! Cute that Mickey was so excited! Baha on Chris being that guy, though I have always wondered, and I’ve always wondered how old Ariel would say she is if you asked, and then I always want to bring up her daughter, but I don’t want to be that person lol. Honestly, I think Cinderella just looks better after her redesign, she looks way prettier! Adorable pics of Presley and Chris, those are so cute!

I can see why you shared all of those pics. They were too adorable to choose from. I love the one where Presley is clearly tickled pink at meeting Daisy.

Those pics of Chris and Presley are priceless. I hope you framed one. :goodvibes

I'm sorry work has been so busy :( But glad to see you back! Presley is so adorable, i love her pics with the characters AND chris, so sweet! And I love your pictures with the characters! :)

Ughhh! So sorry work's been hectic. Hopefully, writing updates is therapeutic and takes you back to your happy place.:goodvibes

O.K., I seriously love this picture. It looks like Rick is demonstrating to Presley how to hold out her gown. Now that's one awesome dad!:cutie::love: (in his defense, he's probably just adjusting his shirt):lmao::rotfl2:

The pics of Presley and Chris are so sweet too. Those are the most precious moments at Disney; those wonderful bonding moments:cloud9:.

I wonder, like Chris, what the explanation is for Rapunzel's lack of short brown hair. :confused3 Oh well, yet another reason to get back there!!

Hmmm, I thought it was just me, whenever we meet Aurora, she's been less than enthusiastic too. I guess she's just the laid back type.

Yay for free dining! You're going to love it. We were on the regular plan (?) (1TS, 1CS, 1Snack a day) and it was sooooo much food, but once we got the hang of it, it was really worth it.::yes::

Yay for free dining!

All your pictures are getting me excited for character stalking.

O.K. - without beating a dead horse about Aurora, well maybe:rotfl:, check out what item 10 of this thread says. So why is that?:confused3 I'll have to watch the movie again and find out why Sleeping Beauty...oh wait! Maybe she's sleep walking!:lmao::rotfl2:

Ah it's so awesome! I've been trying to convince DBF we should upgrade to a mod but he's stuck on Pop! And that's insanely awesome that the pizza is one credit!!

Haha that's a good point about the autographs, I never thought about it but that does take talent. I really wonder what Presley was thinking about !

Yeah I tried to talk him out if it but he didn't do it in a terribly obnoxious way and she seemed fine with it! I'm not gonna lie, I was curious about it too!

I can see why you shared all of those pics. They were too adorable to choose from. I love the one where Presley is clearly tickled pink at meeting Daisy.

Aw thank you!! They came out awesome. I love that the PP photographers take more shots of the little ones so that you get all of their reactions!:goodvibes

Thank you so much!:goodvibes Work has only gotten crazier in the past week but I'm always happy to make it back onto the Dis!

Unfortunately work has only gotten crazier in the past week but I do love when I can retreat to the Disboards!

I actually think that is what he was doing in that picture!! Haha it's fun to see how everyone becomes sillier and more childlike in WDW!

Haha I was definitely wondering too but felt weird asking! Hmm maybe that's just Aurora's personality?

Glad to hear you enjoyed the DDP! We're looking forward to all the eating!:lmao:

Yay for free dining!

All your pictures are getting me excited for character stalking.

Yes!! We're so excited!:cool1:

I'm glad! Character stalking is definitely one of my favorite things to do in WDW!!:goodvibes

How strange! I definitely have read similar things in other TRs. Hahahaha perhaps that is it, she's staying true to the sleeping aspect of the character !:rotfl2:

So does the adult world ever get less stressful? This real life job thing- whew! There's only so much I can really say, but some public accusations have been made about my company, and others which are in the same line of business, and now we're dealing with the ramifications. UGH! I'll take going back to high school 1000 times over please!

Anyway, in lieu of fixing the stress, let's transport to a more magical place!

It's time for the best parade ever (in our humble opinion of course)- Celebrate a Dream Come True!

First came the marching band- I want to say the Main Street Philharmonic is their name?

Still 37 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Aha- the name is on the drum :rotfl:

Still 38 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Soon enough, the gates opened and it was parade time!

Still 41 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I would love to be the grand marshals in this parade one day. Is there any special way to get chosen?

Still 42 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

We happened upon viewing this parade from this spot on our last trip by accident and it turned out to be an awesome viewing spot and is now our favorite place to watch parades from! It's right where the parade starts which is exciting and it never really gets that crowded it seems. And, as you will see in the pictures, the characters were coming right up to us and the camera which we loved!

Still 43 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Still 44 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Still 45 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

She was SO excited that Chip (Dale?) came up and said hi! In hindsight, I wish I had stood on the other side of Presley so that more of her reactions had been captured on video/picture but the one's I have are priceless!

Some of you may remember our tales from Epcot of Presley losing her mind upon sighting Mickey Mouse. Well, this was not limited to Epcot.

Still 51 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

When we see Mickey, Mickey we must have!

Still 52 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

She would have done absolutely ANYTHING to get out of that stroller and get Mickey Mouse. Ah, young love :lmao:

Still 53 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Luckily, she accepted the fact that Mickey would move on and more characters would be coming.

Still 54 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I really love the outfits the dancers wear in this parade. They kinda remind me of like high school marching band uniforms.

Still 55 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Still 56 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Still 57 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Oh hey Abu, nice to see you too!

Still 58 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Jafar's face is actually really frightening!

Still 59 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

He came over to say hi to Presley and she was TERRIFIED.

Still 60 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I think he felt bad about it because he walked away really quickly and turned back to us like AH SORRY!

Still 61 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

She wanted nothing more than to get away!

Still 62 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

So like any responsible adults would, we first videotaped her reaction for prosperity and laughed about it before saving her from being traumatized for life. :rolleyes1

Still 65 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I love how the characters from two movies are intermingling in between floats!

Still 66 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Presley wasn't sure how to feel about him either.

Still 68 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

See- we didn't leave her in the stroller to be scared!

Still 67 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Luckily Smee came along to be cute and happy!

Still 69 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

This Alice ended up being the ONLY Alice we saw in the parades, character M&Gs AND at breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, concluding us to believe for a while that there was only one friend of Alice working that week.

Still 88 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

We were pretty sad because the rest of the princesses pretty much skipped over us.

Still 89 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Luckily Presley didn't notice, she just kept waving.:cheer2:

Still 90 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Until next time, hope everyone has a good week!

That's my favorite float too. It's beautiful.

Love Presley's reactions to the characters. Glad she got to sit on daddy's lap after the scary guys came by. :goodvibes
