"Excuse me, your child can NOT go on stage with Mickey":Jan 2013 TR! updates x 3! 6/5

Yay!!! Parade time!! Favsies!!

How weird that you only saw one of Alice’s friends?! I know there was a while there where Alice didn’t have enough friends, I know she was absent from Epcot a few days, and there were days that Peter/Wendy were out in her spot as well, weird.

Baha, the Hatter certainly loved making faces for your camera!! Looks like a pretty decent parade experience! Presley’s reactions are just priceless, she certainly loves her Mickey Mouse!! Too bad about the villains, but hey, they can be scary, bahaha!!

Another update!:hyper:

What a great viewing spot and your pics of Presley's reactions to the characters are priceless.:cutie: I'm glad she made it out of the stroller :rotfl2: in time for dad and Smee to cheer her up.:):flower3:

DD wants to meet the Mad Hatter so much. He really hammed it up for you. The CMs told us he's only in parades, no M&Gs. Anyone know if he can be seen at any of the character meals.........

:scared:Uggghhh,(I just dropped a huge cup of coffee on my keyboard. I thought I got it all out but now I'm losing characters as I type):scared: :faint:

That's so fun when characters remember you. Yay for Fairy Godmother remembering Presley!:yay:

The hatter can be found at the Halloween parties, and is one of the main guests at 1900 Park Faire breakfasts. Subject to change of course

Eta: theres also that tea party thing w/him & alice at the grand flo'

That's our favorite parade spot, too! Our first time was by accident...but now we will always try for there, I think!

My favorite float is the PPan/Wendy one.

Love Presley's reactions--even the scared one, because that's just cute, too!

Thanks Katt!:cool1: I will definitely have to book one of these next trip. Btw-love your TRs. I've been lurking forever; I really need to start posting.::yes::

The White Rabbit seems to be one of the more difficult ones to catch. We just kind of happened upon him at the right time. The only place we found the Mad Hatter last trip was at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast!

OK, if I had paid attention the first time I asked this, I would have caught your reply Courtney.:scared::faint: I'll pay attention now.:lmao::rotfl2:

I hope you're having a wonderful week. Patiently waiting for your next update.pixiedust:

That's my favorite float too. It's beautiful.

Love Presley's reactions to the characters. Glad she got to sit on daddy's lap after the scary guys came by. :goodvibes

It is beautiful! Everything is somehow less scary with daddy's protection, isn't it?:goodvibes

Ah we love this parade so much.

Alice wasn't out when we were in Epcot! I guess she was in wonderland that week :rotfl2: But her friend that we saw was legit the PERFECT Alice so we were okay with it.

Mickey definitely has her heart. They are scary! Luckily it wasn't a reaction where she was so scared she couldn't enjoy the rest.

It's our favorite parade viewing spot! Luckily Presley recovered quite quickly and enjoyed the rest of the parade! I guess Jafar didn't realize how frightening he was when he came to say hi :rotfl2:

The Mad Hatter is a great character. It'd be awesome if he was around more!

Oh no! My computer (and other various electronics) have been victim to many a spill. I hope yours is recovering! :goodvibes

Thanks Katt! Hm I didn't know about the tea party thing! Sounds awesome. Not sure what it would take to get DBF to a tea party though hmmm...

We happened upon it by accident the first time too! But now we don't want to watch parades anywhere else. Plus it's perfect because it really doesn't seem to get too crowded! (And we watched the same parade from there 3 times this trip so I speak from experience :rotfl:)

The Peter Pan/Wendy float is cute! I definitely need to watch Peter Pan again before September because we've never met Peter because we feel silly that neither of us remembers much from the movie.

It was fun to see her reactions and when she got scared it was so cute that the poor thing had to tolerate us laughing at it before we consoled her. Good adult behavior I'm sure. :lmao:

:lmao::rotfl2: Totally understandable! But 1900 Park Fare was a great meal and if your DD has her heart set on the Mad Hatter, you can't go wrong! Just make sure you use the bathrooms at the Grand Floridian! They're too fancy to miss.

If Flickr cooperates, I'll post an update after this! Hope you had a great week also!:goodvibes

So when we left off, the most awesome dream filled parade had just ended. I know we were trying to eat after the parade. I think this is when we were going to try to get in to Tony's Town Square without reservations :crazy2: because Jenn and Rick asked and they said if we came right at opening, they'd get us in.

However, it was still about 30-45 minutes til that point and certain members of our party (hint: it was not Presley) were going to have a tantrum if they didn't have food NOW. So we decided to go over to Cosmic Ray's instead.

While walking through Tomorrowland, it was pretty empty because the parade was still making its way down Main Street (another highlight to our viewing spot!) so Chris and I suggested Jen and Rick use the chance to ride some things by themselves and we'd take Presley to Cosmic Ray's and get some food and they could meet us when they were done.

Great plan right? Right.

Until the meltdown. Presley was sleepy and realized mommy and daddy left and wasn't having any of it. Then, I made a fatal flaw. Chris and I wanted things from 2 different stations. At the time, Presley was happily sitting in her stroller, being a model child. So I said, I'll get mine and Presley's food here. You can go over there and get what you want.

Well. As soon as he walked away, the stroller apparently became a torture device and Presley wanted NOTHING to do with it. So I roll the stroller to the side and carry Presley through the line. Then it was time to pay and she refused to be put down so I could dig my wallet out of my bag. Once we negotiated that, I figured, we'd get our food in a few minutes and all would be right with the world.

Nope. Presley got juice with her meal and she wanted it NOW. Well, the CM putting our stuff on the tray already had her juice on the tray on the other side of the counter but out of my reach. So I asked her, as politely as possible, if the 2-year-old screaming for juice could have the juice while we waited.

Her answer? NO. You have to wait for all of your food before I can give it to you. UM HELLO. Screaming 2-year-old. Gr. After the longest 5 minutes of my life, we got our food. Chris came and carried it to a table. Presley got her juice and the world was a better place. That CM is on my list though.

Afterwards, Jen and Rick came and joined us and we ate our food and relaxed a bit inside. After lunch, we tricked Rick into riding Space Mountain. As tough and rough as he may look, he's terrified of rides. So we told him Space Mountain was just a ride through space (I mean is that not true?) :rotfl2: and sent him and Jen off to ride while we waited in that arcade area with Presley.

The verdict? He loved it! And sadly, the ride photo never made it onto our account because his face was priceless.

Then, we were going to head to the other side of the park because none of us had been there yet. In passing, we saw the Dream Along with Mickey show was starting in probably 15-20 minutes so we decided to wait.

While we were waiting, Chris and I went to the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and (surprise!) stopped for more photopass pictures.

I have no pictures of the ice cream but Chris got a basic cone and I got the

All-American Sundae - old-fashioned vanilla and chocolate ice cream with hot fudge, peanut butter drizzle, whipped cream and a cherry

aka the best thing I've tasted ever. Seriously. Amazing.

We headed back and shared some ice cream with Presley and then the show was starting!

Presley was only minorly interested until she spotted MICKEY (or Mi-Mo as she affectionately screams upon sighting him). Then, the show had her full focus.

We watched all well and fine until Presley spotted this:

DSCN0720 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

That's right- a roped off passageway that would lead her to Mickey. And obviously, because she is 2, the rope was there for her to go under NOT to stop her from going on the stage. So she took off.

First, she stood right next to the rope. I followed and we stood there ok for a minute or so. Then, she looked at the rope, looked at Mickey, looked at me, looked back at the rope and UNDER THE ROPE SHE WENT. Yes. We were those people. She was going on stage with Mickey.

That nice looking lady standing in the background came over so fast and so did 2 other CMs that I'm still not really certain where they came from. And said the infamous words "Excuse me, um, your child can NOT go on stage." Right. I understand that. The 2-year-old however, threw herself on the ground screaming "MI-MO MI-MO MI-MO". Luckily, Rick got there pretty quickly and carried her away because the CMs were kindly informing me that if I did not get her behind the rope, we would have to be escorted away.

After we secured the Mickey-crazed Presley in her stroller, we watched the rest of the show relatively normally.

Glad to see another update from you! And to hear the explanation of the infamous TR title :goodvibes

Presley's meltdown did not sound fun :(

I missed out on Dream Along With Mickey but it's totally on my to-do list for next time!!

Oh my gosh that's certainly an adventurous update! Glad that Presley got her juice and all was good in the world! Man, I think sometimes some of the cms do need to calm down, like, obviously, you know she's not allowed on the stage, but she doesn't realize that, she's not going to come quietly, especially if you can't carry her away, and they don't let you go past the rope. Eck.

Glad everything worked out in the end!

Just make sure you use the bathrooms at the Grand Floridian! They're too fancy to miss.

O.K., how did you know I'm obsessed with Disney bathrooms?:rolleyes1 Right now, the Pirates "loo" is my favorite. Seriously, it's so pretty. But I will definitely put the Grand Floridian "powder room" on my list of must dos.

Rick's ride pic must have been amazing!:lmao: I tricked (I mean encouraged) my daughter to ride Rockin Rollercoaster (since she had been on much rougher rides at Six Flags). She loved it and there's no ride she won't try now.:yay:

Dream Along with Mickey seems so beautiful. Thanks for the pics. We missed it on the way to a Peter Pan M&G. We'll have to catch it next time.

Go Courtney, Go!:rotfl2:Nothing comes between her and Mi Mo!:mickeyjum The mental picture is just hilarious!!!:lmao: Of course for the family it's mortifying:scared: :sad2: It's crazy how your kids (or those you care for) can change you from cultured folks into "those" people in 3 seconds or less.:headache: :rolleyes1

Thanks for the great update!:yay:

I missed out on Dream Along With Mickey but it's totally on my to-do list for next time!!

Aw thank you! Thanks for still reading along! Yes that is the explanation :rotfl2: It was definitely hard dealing with 2 year old meltdowns, especially since we don't do it on a daily basis. But, I have to say, 97% of the time she was amazingly well behaved and I think the 4 adults on the trip had more meltdowns than her! :rotfl:

Definitely try to do DAWM next time! I love it, it's totally adorable!

Oh my gosh that's certainly an adventurous update! Glad that Presley got her juice and all was good in the world! Definitely an adventure! I agree. I understand why they reacted that way and I'm not one of those "Don't yell at my kid, she can do whatever she wants types" but she's also 2 not like 10 so logic doesn't really work on her. :rotfl2: Luckily, it all resolved fairly quickly!

O.K., how did you know I'm obsessed with Disney bathrooms?:rolleyes1 Right now, the Pirates "loo" is my favorite. Seriously, it's so pretty. But I will definitely put the Grand Floridian "powder room" on my list of must dos.

:lmao::lmao: The bathroom things must be a Disboards quirk! I've never been so excited to see bathrooms as I am to see the Rapunzel ones!

I think some "encouragement" to experience things you know they're gonna end up liking is always reasonable :rotfl:

Haha yeah in the moment it's one of those :crazy2: "I-can't-believe-this-is-my-family" embarrassing moments. But once it was resolved, we realized she's 2, these things are the stories we get to laugh about and bring up for the rest of her life! :goodvibes

So sorry it's been so long! I've been really slacking on the Disboards recently. Life has been kicking my butt. AND for a little bit, it seemed like our September trip was going to have to get cancelled because my cousin, who is supposed to be planning a September 2014 wedding was trying to move it to September 2013. :crazy2: However, everyone, including her finance, agreed it was a terrible idea and now she's back to Fall 2014.

Back in January, we had just watched Dream Along with Mickey and with our security escapades behind us, we were finally ready to hit the other side of the Magic Kingdom!

So I have literally no pictures of the next 2 hours. So I can't vouch 100% for the accuracy of the order. But I know all of these things happened and there's no witnesses willing to say otherwise, so we're gonna accept this as the story.

I remember checking the wait times for the Haunted Mansion while watching DAWM so I think that's logically where we headed next. We went through the interactive line and Presley and I were happy playing in line. I think it was between a 15-20 minute wait. We were a little worried about how Presley would feel about it but she LOVED it. I mean, at first she was a little unsure of herself but she just spent the whole ride going "Mwahahaha" and loved it.

Then, I think we ended up going the long route because we were on a snack quest. Jen got ice cream and I'm sure Chris and I had a snack in there :lmao: and Presley took one bite of the ice cream and spilled it on herself so she got changed.

I think this picture was right after that.

DSCN0733 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Then we walked right onto the Jungle Cruise, which was a first for us, even though I'd heard a lot about it! Presley loves boat rides so she was happy. And we found the silly jokes to be fairly entertaining. Our skipper was a girl, probably like my age, and she was so into it that Chris and Rick weren't convinced at first that she was following a script. :rotfl2:

We also walked right onto Pirates of the Caribbean next which everyone enjoyed. Presley and I spent the boat ride singing "Yo-Ho-Yo-Ho a Pirate's life for me! (she stuck to just the Yo-Ho-Yo-Ho part though). Luckily, we had the boat to ourselves because I'm sure we wouldn't have been entertaining to others.

The original plan was to head into Frontierland to hit up BTMRR but it was getting close to the time for Wishes so we changed our agenda. We started heading back towards Main Street. On our way, we noticed a short wait time for Pixie Hollow and jumped on the opportunity!

Tinkerbell was great with Presley and Presley was enamored with her! The CM handler annoyed me a little though because we wanted to do a group shot after Presley went by herself and there was literally like no one behind us but he rushed us through and then acted annoyed when Chris and I wanted our own pictures. Grr but whatever.

Periwinkle asked Presley if she wanted to give her a kiss on the cheek for the picture. So Presley said ok and was going in for it but at the last minute turned her head and changed her mind!

This is Periwinkle posed for the picture and Presley changing her mind!

Periwinkle was all "Hey you psyched me out" and Presley has a devilish look on her face :lmao:

She couldn't wait to show off her new autographs!

Cute fairy pics! I might have to jump in there next time. Going to your PTR now!

I mean, at first she was a little unsure of herself but she just spent the whole ride going "Mwahahaha" and loved it.

That is awesome! :rotfl:

I love the fairy pics! I just finished watching all 4 fairy films for the first time and I am now a fan!

Fairy update!! Favsies!!

Whoop! Glad that it all got convinced back to next year! Would have sucked to have to cancel!

Ahahah that’s so cute that she was all “mwahaha” ah! Adorbs! I feel like HM scares so many kids off in the stretching room while the rest of the ride isn’t scary at all! I like it when the adults just cover their eyes/ears so they don’t freak out!

Presley’s adorable! Glad that JC was great! The experience depends SO MUCH on the skipper! We had a GREAT,not to mention super attractive one in Sept and it was awesome, in Feb the guy had such a thick accent you couldn’t understand him. SO SAD it’s going to be closed this Sept!!

Oh my gosh that Peri is PERFECT! Ugh, I miss her so much, I do wish they’d add her into the rotation, she’s just too cute!

Super cute update!! Gonna pop over to the PTR now!!
