Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Yay for Hunter being so brave and ordering the escargot! Actually...Yay to all of you for trying new things.:thumbsup2 I wouldn't mind but I know my boys would never do that.:sad2: Glad to hear you enjoyed your meal.:goodvibes

Love the sunset pictures!!:)

Ok, I have to admit it, we like escargot!! We ordered them at Chef's the last time, just so the kids could try them. At least one of them said they just might order them again!!
And your bus ride!! I remember when my DH and I were on our honeymoon, we did not book any excursions, just went out and ventured on our own. OH MY GOSH!! We took a taxi somewhere, maybe a casino, and I was never SO HAPPY to get out of a taxi!!
Happy Annivery to you and John!! Enjoy your trip!!
Tiffany

I loved your pictures you took during sunset that was one of my favorite times to take picture on the balcony I had on the Trans Atlantic cruise.

This one is one of may favorites.

I think the picture of you in a ball in the window is actually very sweet and lovely! When I saw it, I thought it was beautiful that John caught that moment! :lovestruc

I LOVE me some Lobster… really, I'm all for any kind of shellfish!! :rotfl:

Sorry you had to see the drunk man as soon as you got there I would hate for River to have to see that. I would have been a nervous wreck with that bus driver. As for that sign I guess it IS important to protect Ya Tings:lmao: I think if I ever to get to take a cruise I will skip going into Nassau I had no idea it was like that. Do they have a lot of other things to choose from?

What a nice touch to have the cms waiting with warm towels for you!

I really liked your pictures in the porthole.

I don't think I could have been that brave trying snails. Like you said I don't cook the bugs from my garden. But I'm glad you all tried new thing and liked them!

Happy Anniversary and I hope you all have a fun trip this weekend!

Enjoyed the update! I know whatcha mean about stepping out of your comfort zone with those food choices. I have only been exploded to caviar once, and that was enough for this country girl. :) People are surprised that I enjoy some good gulf shrimp over lobster.

Enjoy your Hot Springs trip, we spent a couple days in May up there, but we didn't make it to magic springs. I have promised my son, Briar, a Magic Springs trip next year.

I think I would love to sit in a big ole porthole and just watch the sun go down. :goodvibes

The ship is just so beautiful, I love seeing everyone's pictures of her.

SNAILS! You would have to tie me up and force feed me, NO HOW, NO WAY would even consider eating them! Just knowing what they are, I would gag if I even tried.:scared:

The rest of your food looked very good, and desert Mmmmmmm.

Whew! Finally caught up! :)

Great TR as always. :thumbsup2 I love reading about your family, y'all have such a great time together. :goodvibes

Reading along with your posts about the cruise has convinced me more than ever I would not like taking a cruise. I'd rather stay in my own little "Disney world," while at Disney World, and leave the ships to everyone else. ::yes::

I'm glad you are sharing the good, the bad and the ugly, and that you aren't trying to sugar coat this cruise. It really has helped me to see things that I wouldn't have known about other wise. Sorry to sound like a downer, your transparency is helping me to make a really well informed decision. :)

Can't wait to read more about your trip!!

Yay for being adventurous that night with your food! It's fun to try new things, even if you don't end up really liking them. That said - I don't think I'd be brave enough to try escargot! (Especially now that you say they're like mushrooms - one of my least favorite foods!)

I like the porthole pictures! Also -- kudos to John for getting pics of the room details.

Ordering escargot -- very brave! I'm not sure I would... But I bet my DD would. She's one to try anything once.

Loved the porthole pics! And John did very well getting the details pictures! I could not see Keith doing that unless it was being smart aleck to me!

I have had caviar and escargot once and that was on our cruise. The escargot was actually decent and I would eat again although it isn't something I would make a habit out of since it seems a bit like eating bugs. The caviar on the other hand....YUCK!!! We had that at the cocktail hour at the Captain's reception so we were all sitting around and I suddenly pulled a Tom Hanks from Big! Thankfully there were plenty of napkins to use! :rotfl2: That is something I hope to never have pass my lips again!

The pictures are really making me consider waiting last minute for Chris and see if good military deals come out. We got a good one last night but the dates aren't working for us. 7 nights from Galveston for $75 per person per night. Sounded good to me anyhow!

John surprises me sometimes and will ask "did you takes pictures of that for your trip report?" He's learned to live with the picture taking obsession.

Had I gotten a bigger bite of caviar, I would have pulled a Tom Hanks in Big too! I didn't like it at all.

Ooh, that's sounds like a great deal. I'd look into it if I were you.

Love the updates Lisa!!! Is it me or are the meal portions small?? Hmmmm.... and for Hunter to go with his meal? Snails? Really? Although I must admit that Victoria tried calamari at Cape May last year. Of course she didn't know what it was before she ate one!!! :lmao:

The portions are a little on the small size but you can order as many as you want so if one doesn't do the trick, you can ask that they bring you another.

Hunter tried calamari last year but only because we didn't tell him what it was and bribed him with $5.00. :lmao:

Since I've never been on a Disney cruise, I'm loving all the details and pictures you're giving me. Love the lamp in the cabin that John got a picture of!

The Disney Dream is a beautiful beautiful ship! I wish we had had more time to walk around and see more of it.

I also loved your porthole photo shoot pictures! Too cute! So cool that you were able to watch the sunset, too!

So proud of you for trying new foods! I don't know that we were quite that brave - in fact I know none of us ordered the escargot! That was the night we were minus the children at dinner.

Loved that the description of the iced lobster included "micro greens" would that be the tiny green specks on the right edge of the plate?

Arrrrrkansas - love it! :goodvibes

Happy Anniversary - Hope y'all have a great weekend!

How big was ya'll's balcony/verandah? If we ever go back on a Disney cruise, we aren't sure if we want a room like the one we had or one with the verandah.

We enjoyed the Royal Palace more than we did Enchanted Garden but I think that had something to do with where we were seated this time rather than the food choices.

Yeah, I saw the "micro greens" on the plate and I thought "microscopic". :rotfl:

Thanks for the anniversary wishes! If ya'll change your mind and decide to head to Hot Springs, keep an eye out for us.

Loved the updates, Lisa. I think it is so awesome that John is willing to help you out with your trip reports. My husband always looks at me like a goof when I say I'm taking photos to do a report. Of course, he is the Disney Downer in the family-probably why I am willing to leave him at home for my next trip.:rotfl:

John's grown to understand my picture taking for trip report purposes. He'll even say something like "aren't you going to take pictures of the room before we mess it up?"

Great updates Lisa! Happy Anniversary! :woohoo: I hope you guys have a great time.

Really impressed with you guys, especially Hunter, trying foods outside your comfort zone. Now you don't have to wonder what escargot and caviar tastes like.

We have been kicking around the idea of a stay at Atlantis. Now I know not to plan much, if any, time to explore outside the resort.

I can't believe we're over a year out from our next trip "home" to CBR. :( But your TR is helping for sure.

Thanks for happy anniversary! I'm ready to get the heck out of town.

I couldn't believe that Hunter ordered the escargot. The food that John and I ordered really weren't that adventurous except they were things that we normally do not care for.

If you go to Atlantis...stay in Atlantis!

I'm counting down the days until we are back at the CBR too! Just look at those two tickers in my signature. I'm so excited that I needed two of 'em.

Hi! I finally found your cruise TR! YAY!
Do you need passports to go on the cruise and go to Nassau and such?

I won't eat snails! I had a pet snail, Henry, for two years! Snails are friends, not food! :goodvibes

Do you have any more backsacks for sale or that you are making? I'd like to buy one for my friend for Christmas. Thanks.

Hey! We did not need passports to go to the Bahamas because we left from Port Canaveral and came right back to Port Canaveral.

I actually do have quite a few backsacks already sewn up but haven't had time to put them on ebay. Do you know what colors or style you're looking for? I'll p.m. you my email address and we can chat that way if you'd like.

LOVE your update!! Tyler would NEVER go out of his comfort zone and order snails...NEVER!! LOL Bravo Hunter for being brave!!! The pics of the ship are just awesome. We always saw it from the road and the CG base across the harbor and always just grand and georgous!!

I couldn't believe that Hunter went that far out of his comfort zone. I almost passed out.

The ship is absolutely gorgeous! I know that if we ever do another cruise, we'd look into a Disney cruise first.

Didn't they provide you with a little map of every deck on the ship when you checked in? On a different cruise line we get a little fold-out map small enough to stick in your pocket. It shows pretty much every place you can go on the ship. Plus before I got on board I was looking at their web site that shows the deck plans including where all the cabins are located. So even before I boarded the ship I had a pretty good idea where most of the major place where. And the dining room was definitely one of the MAJOR PLACES to go!

My thought exactly! :rotfl2: Thanks for yet another laugh out loud moment!

I don't remember a pocket size map. We were given a large navigator but I don't think we had a little map. It would have come in handy.

Hunter was more adventurous than John and I that's for sure. I couldn't believe he actually went through with trying the escargot.

The sunset was so pretty!

Ok, I have to admit it, we like escargot!! We ordered them at Chef's the last time, just so the kids could try them. At least one of them said they just might order them again!!

Tiffany

They didn't taste bad at all. I think it's the whole "I'm eating a snail" that gets to most people.

I'd definitely not go to Nassau and not have some sort of excursion booked. It sounds like your taxi ride was much like our bus ride!

Thanks for the anniversary wishes!

I loved your pictures you took during sunset that was one of my favorite times to take picture on the balcony I had on the Trans Atlantic cruise.

Gorgeous picture!

I LOVE me some Lobster… really, I'm all for any kind of shellfish!! :rotfl:

I was still a bit cold and I was all huddle up in the window.

The lobster was good and I'd try it again for sure!

Sorry you had to see the drunk man as soon as you got there I would hate for River to have to see that. I would have been a nervous wreck with that bus driver. Happy Anniversary and I hope you all have a fun trip this weekend!

If we ever go back to Nassau, I'll book a different excursion or even do the first and second part of the See and Sea tour and skip the bus portion.

I had to brace myself for the first bite of the snail but it was actually pretty good.

I'm ready to hit the road as soon as John gets home and cleaned up!

If I had to chose between shrimp and lobster, I'd take shrimp anyday. I guess it all depends what you are raised on.

I didn't buy the online Magic Springs tickets yet because I want to wait and see how the crowds are in town. Oh and see how the weather is. I'd hate to buy $150 work of tickets and then not get to use them.

I think I would love to sit in a big ole porthole and just watch the sun go down. :goodvibes

I spent a lot of time sitting in the porthole. The views were always amazing.

I thought that I might get a little gag on when I tried the snails but I was surprised by their texture and taste. Not at all what I was expecting.

Whew! Finally caught up! :)

Great TR as always. :thumbsup2 I love reading about your family, y'all have such a great time together. :goodvibes

Glad that you're all caught up and ready to read the rest (when I get to it). When I write my trip reports, I do like to post very honest opinions about everything just like you said, the good, the bad and the ugly. (Hate to admit it but all of those come up on our last night aboard the ship). If I didn't post my honest opinion, then others wouldn't learn from my trip reports. I'd rather have an honest opinion than a sugar coated one.

Yay for being adventurous that night with your food! It's fun to try new things, even if you don't end up really liking them. That said - I don't think I'd be brave enough to try escargot! (Especially now that you say they're like mushrooms - one of my least favorite foods!)

It is fun to try new things especially when you know that the waiter will bring out something else if you don't like the "adventurous" foods. I was surprised that the escargot wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Hi Lisa,
Happy Anniversary to you and John! Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Thank you! We intend to enjoy every minute away from home.

I like the porthole pictures! Also -- kudos to John for getting pics of the room details.

Ordering escargot -- very brave! I'm not sure I would... But I bet my DD would. She's one to try anything once.

Thanks! I didn't remember your daughter being an adventurous eater. So you think she'd try the escargot?

Yup, I think she'd try it. If someone suggested it to her. She's not one to go out looking for new things to try, but if offered - she'll give it a shot.
