Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

"What are they going to do to me? Im old, retired and a Veteran. They cant say anything without looking bad.

Can I use this line??? Pleeeeeeeze? :lmao:

And, by the way...you were sitting right across the street from my home away from home when you had the knee/neck brace giggle fest.

Yay!!! And I like your reasoning for why you did pick CSR, and didn't pick POR. :goodvibes

We're excited! :cool1:

The only time we've had a horrible bus experience was on the first Herding Cats trip with the in-laws at POR. So, maybe another good reason to swap resorts.

The craziest things happen while you're waiting for the bus, especially with larger groups. The greatest thing was when I left my hat at the stop and my Mom, who got the next bus, came up to me in MK, and said, "Did you lose something?"

We've had breakfast at Ohana, which was good, but DH has a shellfish allergy and I've got a coconut allergy, so we're a little leary about any other meal. We would love to stay at the Poly - and in 2 years from today, or 10th anniversary, we will. (fingers crossed)

Hope Hunter had fun at the party with his girlfriend who's daddy is a deputy. Yeah, that should keep him in line. :thumbsup2

Hurrah for Hollywood! looking forward to the Toy Story Dash...

Yay for your Mom finding your hat!

With your allergies, I can see why you'd stay away from anything but breakfast at Ohana.

Thanks for explaining it to me using pictures. Got it now.b:thumbsup2

I'm glad Hunter was able to provide entertainment for you guys during that long bus wait. In 2009 we tried to go from the Poly to Downtown Disney and we too ended up waiting about 45 minutes for a bus. :headache:

I think Coronado Springs looks GORGEOUS! I totally get why you would not be as interested in POR. I come from up North with mountains and skiing and snow, so the Wilderness Lodge does not appeal to me much. I'm very confident that you guys will like CSR. At least I hope so! :goodvibes

You're welcome! I figured that pictures of the gangster/gangsta and flapper would be much easier to understand than words.

So it wasn't just us who had bad bus service from the Poly.

We are excited about staying at the Coronado. You know, the Wilderness Lodge is pretty but it doesn't "do it" for us either. Guess that's because I live in a log home so it's not unique to us.

Hey Lisa :wave2: Great update! Love you pics of the difference between a ganster and a gansta lol! All your talk about Ohana makes me very hungry...mmm bread pudding. We tried Ohana for the first time this year and I believe that we are hooked. One thing though, and I hope I don't get flamed for this, but we could not stop laughing at the lady that walks around with the kids and the ukulele (I think). Man she just would not stop talking and singing lol! Anyways again thanks for the update :thumbsup2

I would have much rather had Ohana for dinner tonight! That's for sure!

Oh you'll not get any flames from me! We thought the guy who sang at Ohana that night was a bit cheesy and over the top too.

You have my permission, on behalf of the nice gentleman at Ohana, to use that line. I thought it was great!

So, Shades of Green is that close to the Polynesian? I have never noticed.

the good thing about being gone for a week is several updates to read at once!

I love the pictures of John and Tiana, just wonderful. You can tell he's having a blast and I loved that he chose that knowing he was risking Big Thunder. Very happy you made it on so that we could be treated to Hannibal Lecter! Those are a riot (but no need to be embarrassed...they are just fun pics!).

I've only tried taking a bus from the Poly once and it was horrible...at least 45 minutes and cost us one last time on TSM before it went down for refurb on our trip. We were not happy. Since then I've been told you are better off taking the monorail to the TTC and then catching a bus from there.

Welcome back to the real world! I kept up with you and Mary Ellen via her Facebook posts. It looks like you had a great time.

John was not going to miss out on seeing Tiana. We've watched the Princess and the Frog several times and we get a kick out of hearing them references cities around us.

Once I saw the pictures of me on Big Thunder Mountain, I knew I had to share them.

OMG I just got caught up and I have to say that I laughed so hard my girls thought I was having an old folks moment with your pic!! :rotfl2:

I hope John's situation turns around quickly.

Can't wait to see the pics of Hunter and his date in their costumes.

I loved CSR! It has been sometime since I have been there but I enjoyed the Pepper Market, the grounds and theming.

Can't wait for the next installment! :thumbsup2

Yay for getting caught up! I'm so behind on several threads I'm reading.

We are excited about trying the CSR and I'm reading everything I can get my hands on.

Great update!

How is you husband doing with his meds?

Too funny with the knee brace, even funnier that it got his funny bone!

I think we may have an idea of what's throwing him off. I have a call into the doctor to see what he thinks.

The thing that made the knee/neck brace was made even funnier because John got so tickled by it.

Hi Lisa
You are a very busy lady!
I hope John's blood levels even out...that must be scary and frustrating at the same time.

Glad your mom is doing well, you will just have to keep shopping to find her another hat.
Yeah for the new car for Lacey and Jessie....I like new cars, but not the bill that comes with them :(
I hope they enjoy it!

Wow, Hunter his first date/girlfriend?? He is no longer the little boy we used to read about....!!!
that's funny Lacey was thinking gangsta...lol, I probably would have thought the same...lol

It always seems to be busy around our house but I probably wouldn't have it any other way. Wait, I take that back, I could so without the constant med battle.

Yep, Hunter went on his first official date. They've been "going out" (that's what the teenagers call it when you are boyfriend and girlfriend) and have been over to each other's house but this was their first official outing together.

Oh my....HOW THE HECK DID I MISS THIS????? But didn't you do this once before too? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Seriously, I hope you stick with it and that you love it half as much as us. I know CBR has your heart, but as much as CSR has "our hearts", we are so glad we tried OKW and AKL...because we love those just as much too.

You know that we've tried to venture out before but I've never actually made other reservations. But, the CSR reservations are made and payments applied so I'm thinking this time it's going to stick. The only thing that would make us change is if a special offer came out and it couldn't be taken advantage of at CSR.

There's supposed to be a convention on our first two nights but I'm hoping it doesn't make much of an impact on our stay.

Every time we've stayed at CSR (nine times) there has been a convention and it has never affected us; the outside bar, Laguna, may be more crowded, but other than that, we see them going to their meetings and that's about it. We've got Pop Warner there for Mark's surprise trip, but I'm leaving it as it is--we won't be at the resort to even notice.

That's good to hear. I need to look at a map and locate all of the places you can get quick service meals since we won't be doing the buffet each time.

I'll give you a more up-to-date on Cafe Rix when we are there; but you can get a limited number of sandwiches/salads there, and the pool has some really good food too.

Well, I was going to wait and see how long it would take you all to notice but I can't stand it any longer! Look at the ticker! Yep, we changed from Caribbean Beach to Coronado Springs. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent looking at pictures of the various moderate resorts and reading the pros and cons of each. In the end, we settled on the CSR because it had a beach and if we started feeling homesick for the CBR, we could go over to the Cabanas and lie around in a hammock. We were just so very afraid that, if we chose POR, it would feel too much like home since we are from Louisiana. If any of you have any tips, info, etc. about the CSR you'd like to share, please feel free.

WHAT????? I can't believe it!!! :lmao: I hope you enjoy it!!!! My grandmom & two aunts stayed there before. They didn't really care for it though. Can't remember why though. It was quite a few years ago! My entire family are CBR lovers!! :rotfl2: I would love to hear about this resort though!!! Especially from you! I live through your reports as you know & trust your opinions fully!!! :) So exciting! How does mama feel about the switch?

Believe it! I changed them over and we are going to keep them at CSR unless an offer comes out and rooms aren't available there. Oh have mercy! Don't tell me that! Mama is the one who was disappointed when we said that we were just going to stay with the CBR. I think she was looking forward to trying something new too.

Oooh!! CSR!! Nice! Of course, I'll believe it when you checkin at the resort!!

Speaking of checking in, my BFF Shelley (remember her? :confused3) called and was able to move from Pop to CBR for her trip in Nov! She's really excited about it and she's keeping it a secret from her husband. Of course, she told me (cause that's what BFF's are for!) and somehow he got wind that I knew a secret and he has been calling me trying to get me to tell him what the secret it!! Anyway, you switching resorts reminded me of that, since she and I talked about how much YOU loved that resort!

I don't want to think about Hunter going out on a real date. He's simply not old enough in my opinion. Sure, I've only "known" him for 2 years, but that's it. I refuse to allow it! Because before you know it, some teenage boy is gonna think he can ask my girls out. :scared:

First off, LOVED the update!! Ohanas is one of my faves. Desert there is soooo good! Love the salad, too. However, this time I was disappointed with how rare the steaks were. And Hunter has a girlfriend now? What's a mom to do?!
OK, now you've gone from POR to CSR?! Keep reading along with me, I am about to be posting many photos. And I am happy to share tips. ROBO always posts the best maps. The Ranchos sections got my pick for favorite design (but I like the Southwestern/desert/ranch style), but Cabanas was a great location for use of the pool and not a bad walk to the dining area. I was a little disappointed with quick service/food court type options. One of the reasons I was glad we had the car was because we spent our CSR days checking out other resorts and chose to eat at their food courts instead of our own.

Yay for CSR!! :yay: It looks so pretty from the pictures!!

Strange about that server at Ohana, but that's kind of nice that you were able to skip right to the meats and not be tempted by the other filler side dishes!! :thumbsup2

We have stayed at both POR and CSR and I think you made a great choice. We liked POR, but we enjoyed the theming of CSR so much more...not to mention the Pepper Market. We liked the food choices there a lot more than at any other food court. We stayed in Cabana 8A and loved the proximity to the bus stop and main building.

Oh boy...I hope the situation with John's meds evens out soon. I know how frustrating that can be.

Only the McBride's would use a knee brace as entertainment! LOL! :lmao:

Yay for CSR! I'm glad you are trying a new place. No need to be stuck in that rut! :)

It was a bit strange how another server kept coming to the table every time our's stepped away. But, like you said, at least we were able to eat the meats a little earlier.

I am not sure if I'm going to put in any requests other than "close to food court" since that's important to Mama. I may change my mind though after I do more research.

The knee brace had us all laughing. Hunter had that thing around his neck and started acting all silly. Oh what crazy times we have!

We are all excited about trying a new resort and I'm pretty sure the only thing that would have us change is if we couldn't take advantage of a special offer at the CSR.

We stayed at CSR when we went this past April.

Nice but spread out a bit.

We are used to things being spread out at the CBR so I think we'll be able to handle the CSR. At least I hope so.

Oh and by the way, when I called to modify the reservation, I asked the castmember if she thought there would be any special offers that we could take advantage of and she said "I'm sure there will be. There are always offers during that time." Taken with a grain of salt but still keeping hope alive.

Right now, we are set on CSR but if an offer comes out that's better at another moderate, we'll have to switch to save the money.

I'm so happy to hear that Shelley was able to change resorts. I know how hard it can be to keep a secret.

Isn't it crazy how quickly Hunter has grown up? I can't believe my little boy is 15 years old and going on dates. Just you watch....those two girls of your's will have boys fawning all over them before you know it.

We usually take a cab after dinner if we are not going to a park...it is not that expensive and they have them waiting and they take you wherever you want. The DTD buses are always the worst!

Exciting! I hope you keep this one - we've never stayed there and I'd love to see your pictures of the place!

Ok, really really dumb question here. How do you get a cab? Do you ask at the front desk for them to call one up for you? Or do you stand there and wave your hand? Or do you walk up to one?
