Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

I find it interesting that it's Mama who was disappointed about now trying out a new resort. Here you were, not wanting to switch because you thought she wouldn't feel comfortable. Don't you know you should not underestimate your Mama? ;)

I think Hunter putting a knee brace on his neck would be hilarious! Did he have to pull it over his head?? I could see it getting stuck. Explain why you need a scissors at the front desk!:rotfl2:

Thats a LOooooooong wait at a bus stop! :scared:

No POR! Oh, well I think your reasoning sound good. Just know that the boats at POR for DTD come every 20 min during the day and every 10 after 4...:rolleyes1

We usually take a cab after dinner if we are not going to a park...it is not that expensive and they have them waiting and they take you wherever you want. The DTD buses are always the worst!

I've found that the DTD buses ARE the worst out of all the buses. Wonder why?

Exciting! I hope you keep this one - we've never stayed there and I'd love to see your pictures of the place!

We're a bit nervous about trying something new but excited too.

Ok, really really dumb question here. How do you get a cab? Do you ask at the front desk for them to call one up for you? Or do you stand there and wave your hand? Or do you walk up to one?

I know at the CBR, there were cabs waiting in the parking area outside of the Custom House. I've seen them at the parks too.

I find it interesting that it's Mama who was disappointed about now trying out a new resort. Here you were, not wanting to switch because you thought she wouldn't feel comfortable. Don't you know you should not underestimate your Mama? ;)

I thought the same thing! When John and I left her house, I said "Dang it! Now it's Mama wanting to change and we were trying to keep her at ease." :rotfl:

Heaven help me if I had to ask for scissors! You know that they'd probably send me straight to security! :lmao:

Great! You just had to throw the POR boats in there didn't you? :p

I was pretty far behind so some of my comments are "old news". Anyway, so sorry about the losses in your family. Always a hard time to go through. It looks like Jessie is really enjoying his first day at the MK and fitting right in. That's awesome! The Jesus pic was pretty funny too.

Your dinner at O'Hana looks delish! Can't wait for our breakfast ressie there in January. Good thing Hunter was so entertaining with the knee brace! That was a long wait for a bus.:scared1: Wonder why they're so slow there??

I think you'll enjoy CSR. I've stayed there only once and it was quite a few years ago when I was there for a convention but it didn't feel crowded and I think the grounds and pool area are beautiful!! I'm all for trying new places anyway..........how exciting!!:goodvibes

That is so exciting about your trip! I may be there at the same time! My DH has a conference at CSR May20-23....He has applied for a speaking spot and if he gets it then his company will pay for him to go to the conference. If I can get over the guilt of leaving my kids behind for 3 days I may go with him!!

We wondered if the “odd” server kept coming over so that she could suggest to our “regular” server that they split the tip because she had helped.

Awesome pictures of the GF!

Maybe the luggage guy from the cruise tipped off the "odd" server about what a great tipper John is!

We actually like Kona better than Ohana, but it may not be the restaurant's fault. The one time we ate at Ohana it was at the end of our trip and we were too exhausted to fully enjoy the experience.

That is hilarious about the knee-ck brace.

We took the bus from Poly to DTD last year and the wait was so long!! I would venture to say it was almost 45 minutes as well!

We stayed at CSR in 2010 when Keith decided to extend our stay and that was the only option. I had read bad reviews because of it being a conference hotel and the size, but we really loved staying there! The rooms were great! Unlike some I really liked Pepper Market too (Keith actually mentioned "hopping" over there in July to eat). It is a different set up from a food court but the food was good and I liked how it had a semi-table service feel to it. The main pool was amazing! But we also enjoyed the quiet pools. Finally, our room was on the "backside" (Ranchos I think) and I wasn't too keen at first being so far away from the main building. I discovered it wasn't bad at all! The theming is wonderful and we really felt like we had been on two completely separate vacation switching from POR to CSR mid-trip! Seeing your pictures of CBR, I think CBR and CSR are very similar just with a different theme.

wow, that WAS a rediculously long wait for your bus :( Good thing you have such an entertainer around ;) LOL Gotta love those belly laughs everyon once in a while.

We love the vinylmation store!! That huge vinylmation Mickey is so neat but I don't recall seeing it. I probably did but there is so much to look at in that store with everything being made out of more small vinylmations to look at that it's a bit hard to take in all of it.

Thank you! Those pictures were taken from the monorail station so they were obviously zoomed in.

I told John what you said and he laughed like crazy. :rotfl:

Hunter had us all laughing with his neck/knee brace antics.

It's good to hear another positive CSR review. We ultimately ended up deciding on the CSR because there is a beach so, if we start missing the CBR, we at least can stroll over to the beach and get that tropical feel.

Sure hope that's a good "Wow!" :lmao:

Hunter's an entertaining for sure so we at least had a few laughs while waiting for the bus for such a long time.

The big Mickey is to the right when you walk in the door. I can certainly understand how you could miss him because there's just so much to look at there.

Don't worry about being behind....I seem to stay that way. ;) Thanks so much for the condolences.

I'm always surprised by how long we have to wait for the buses whenever we visit a deluxe resort. You'd think with the money those guests pay, the bus system would be more efficient.

We are pretty excited about trying a new resort but we're nervous too.

Cool! You definitely need to go along with your hubby. Well, I say that but then I'd probably feel guilty about not taking my kids too.

Hello everybody! I hope that those of you who are in the path of Hurricane Sandy have hunkered down and are safe and sound. Everybody else, I hope that your week is off to a good start.

We are gluttons for punishment and decided to put down new flooring in our bedroom this weekend. Being the gosh darn perfectionists that we are, it took us quite a while to get it done even though it was only one room. Oh and there was an "incident" that took our attention away from our task.

Let me tell ya'll what happened.

It was about 11:00 p.m. Friday night, Hunter was at a bonfire with a bunch of friends and wasn't supposed to be home until Midnight. John and I, being the romantics that we are, decided to spend the time alone tearing up our carpet, cleaning the concrete and putting down new floor. When we took up the carpet and the padding, we also had to remove the tack strips along the wall and it made little holes/chips in the concrete which had to be filled up. The filler we used stunk to high Heaven so we had the windows up in the bedroom and had a fan in the window trying to get the smell out. Our dog, Oddball had been barking for at least 25 or 30 minutes and we figured he was barking at an animal out in the pasture.

Anyway, John went outside to get something from the toolbox in his truck and the next thing I know, he's busting down the hallway saying an ugly word followed by "Somebody's in the yard!". The same time John's coming down the hall to get his gun, I hear multiple voices yelling "Sheriff's Office! Sheriff's Office!" and I see light streaks across our backyard.

We go to the front of the house to see a Deputy standing outside the door and another knocking on the door. I opened it and asked what was going on. They said that somebody had tried to break into a house on ****Drive which is on the other side of the block. They had heard our dog barking and thought that the guy had ran through our yard and our dog had it penned up somewhere. As we were talking, two other Deputies came up and said "we don't even know where we are" and said that they didn't know where ****Drive was. I had to give them directions. Idiots!

They told us to lock everything up and keep an eye out and they left on foot going towards ****Drive. As soon as they left, I called Mama who lives right by us and told her what was going out. I also placed a call to Hunter and told him that he and his girlfriend didn't need to stand around outside and talk when they brought him home. There are too many places around our house that somebody could hide out....pasture on three sides and woods on another. After we made the calls, we realized that the shop was still unlocked so we tiptoed across the yard and peeked inside before we went in. I could just see the hoodlum hiding in the shop behind one of the machines or stacks of wood. Once we had looked around, we went in, shut everything off and locked it up.

To say that we were rattled was an understatement. Those dumb bunny Deputies should have known better than go walking through somebody's big old backyard, in the dark, without one of them letting the owners know. They are lucky that they didn't see the barrell of a shotgun.

Hunter came home right after we had everything secure and we told him what happened. We talked for a few minutes about the party and then he went to bed. Partying is a hard job!

John and I worked on the floor until 2:30 a.m. and then we started on it again about Noon on Saturday because John had a cabinet to install for a lady. Saturday, we had a night on the town....yeah right...you didn't really believe that part did you? We took Hunter and his girlfriend out to eat, dropped them off at yet another party/bonfire (they went to the homecoming dance later on that evening, it started at 9:00 and ended at midnight) and then went to Lowe's and Target. We thought about going to a movie but, honestly, we were both so sleepy that we knew we'd fall asleep 10 minutes in.

We finished up the floor last night about 10:30 or so. It looks sooooo good! We haven't moved any of the furniture back into the bedroom yet. Last night, I slept on a queen size air mattress on the floor of the living room and John fell asleep in the recliner. It was tough getting up this morning.

John and I laughed and said that you'd think our house was a run down slum when we talk about what all we've done to it over the last few months. It's not that at all. We just wanted to make a few changes and I'm loving them all!

I hope to get an installment written up later this afternoon if I can get the boss to leave early. If not, I'll definitely get it done tomorrow!

Wow, that is scary about the intruder running around. Good thing the only people in your yard were the (lost!) deputies.

Glad you got your floor done with no other problems after that.

Yay for a new installment going up soon, I'm pretty bored sitting here at home. You can only watch the rain and wind so much, and daytime tv is boring! :rotfl2:

I am caught up again. I had to re-read a few things being I lost my place.

Great pics and updates.

The Hannibal pic was funny.

I would have gone with them to Kona, bad experiences at 'Ohana. Lapu Lapu = YUM.

Okay the story of someone breaking in somewhere near you is creepy.

Why is it that there are two or three DTD buses when you don't need one, but when you do the wait is 45 minutes. Go figure! :confused3

Your Ohana meal sounds yummy. I have to admit, I could fill up on all the apps and shrimp. So good.

I can't see pictures right now, but I can't wait to laugh over your Hannibal Lector pose and kudos to you for posting it.

Really fun updates, even without pictures.

I was happy to read your last update saying that you were home safe and sound and had battened down the hatches.

Glad to hear that you're all caught up. I knew when I saw the Hannibal picture that it was one I had to post even though it certainly wasn't a flattering picture.

It was creepy to hear that somebody had tried to break in a neighbor's house and was on the loose!

It's crazy how the DTD buses are always the worst of the bunch!

I could go to Ohana and not have a bit of meat and still be satisfied.

Be prepared...the Hannibal picture is :scared1:

They did the dash. The Toy Story Dash! They did the dash! (Sung to the tune of Monster Mash because it’s almost Halloween.)

Our intention for this morning was to get up early and make it to Hollywood Studios by rope drop but, I’m married to a McBride and with that name comes certain, certain, hum, how shall I say it nicely? Okay, so there’s no way to say it nicely. John is slower than Christmas! :santa: A snail moves faster than him! :snail:Heaven help me but it’s looking more and more like Hunter has those same “qualities”.

We didn’t leave our room until a few minutes after 9 a.m. but, lucky for us, a bus was just arriving when we got to the bus stop. We hopped on, made the rest of the bus stops and were at Hollywood Studios in just 11 minutes. Yep, the CBR is that close to the park.

I had prepped the group ahead of time and told them that, if we wanted any chance to ride Toy Story Mania without getting a Fastpass, we’d have to hotfoot it over to the line first thing. Lacey and I went through security where I snapped two pictures:

and met up with the guys at the turnstiles. Then, we did The Dash! The Toy Story Dash! It seemed that most of the guests were doing the same thing. We got to the line and it said that the wait was 45 minutes but the line didn’t even come to the outside of the building. We wondered if it was really a 45 minute wait? Do we get in the stand by line or get a Fastpass? We needed to hurry because people were going into the building meaning standby was getting longer. The decision was made to just get in the line and see what happens.

We rounded the corner to this:

Yeah baby! Maybe the wait wasn’t 45 minutes after all.

DSCF2879.jpg

But it was every single second of 45 minutes. :( We were behind a couple who had a little boy who looked about four and he was a climber. He climbed on anything and everything. His parents let him get out of line and go behind the barriers and climb on the crayons, beat on the boxes and scoot under the cards. He’d push his way through the people in front of him and bump into other kids and their parents. His parents never got on to him or made him stop. As a matter of fact, sometimes, they’d tell him to smile for a picture while he was swinging upside down from the bars. Working with the people in divorce/custody related stress is an everyday thing for me and I’m a very tolerant person. But, this little boy and his parents were driving me nuts! I could have pulled them all aside and given them a good talking to.

A few more “waiting in line” pictures:

Oopsie! Can’t see Hunter’s face in this one:

It’s almost our turn:

John said that he’d ride by himself so the pairs were Hunter and I and then Jesse and Lacey. Think they are enjoying themselves?

How ‘bout Hunter?

I am not the most coordinated person so I usually suck big time on these sorts of games but I did do pretty well this go-round:

**Up next: Raindrops, props and catastrophes!

Thank you, I now have Monster Mash stuck in my head! :rotfl2:

That is one BIG benefit to doing solo trips, since I don't have to wait for anyone to get up to get going. Last trip with my sisters was not like that at all. Neither of them are morning people, and I had to be on them constantly to get moving. And they WANTED to do RD so we could get more in, they just moved so sloooooooooowly.

Glad you made it on TSMM though. There is something about that line. Every time I have been in the standby line (probably 10-ish times? :confused3) there is a little kid around me using the bars as their own personal jungle gym, and not caring if they hit anyone. :worried:

Sounds like you had an exciting weekend. - well, one exciting evening and then a weekend.

We didn't refloor anything, but we did reorganize and rearrange the living room this Sunday when DH realized that as it was, we would not have room for the Christmas Tree. But usually you realize it's all worth it when your room looks so much more like you want it to.

When we realised that DHS was so close to CBR, we made count of the turns. Depending on which way you were going, it's either two rights and a left or a right and two lefts. We ended up going back and forth three times one day (we always get the hopper option because, who knows what we'll end up doing!)
