Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Great update. Glad you guys were having a much better time. Hope you get John's meds straightened out soon. My MIL is diabetic, so I know what outta whack numbers can do to a person. I keep putting Ohana in our plans for next year and taking them out. I can't make up my mind. :rolleyes1  Think I will look at Kona menu since it seems to be well liked. Keep up the great report. :thumbsup2

Hi again Lisa! Love the update!!! I'm with Hunter, I don't like the food at Ohana either! Loved the atmosphere though! I love the Poly! Wish I could stay there one day! But what is with their buses??? I have always waited forever for a bus there!! :confused3 Maybe most people take the monorail, so they buses don't come as often?! Who knows?! Still love the resort though!! We eat breakfast at Kona every trip! So good!!! And DH loves to stop to get some sushi at their sushi bar! YUCK!!! :crazy2: Glad you all are getting to spend so much time together! :grouphug:

All of us except Hunter really enjoy the food at Ohana. He's our picky eater and we always tell him that we'll buy him something else later if he is still hungry. I agree that the Poly has a wonderful atmosphere but I just can't make myself pay the price to stay there.

Do you know that we've experienced slow buses at every deluxe resort we've visited? I've never understood that.

I don't know if you have missed me, but I have been MIA.
Sorry to hear about all the goings on in your family but glad to hear that your Mom's surgery went well.
We would love to eat at Ohana's but I have at least one (maybe three) family members with a shellfish allergy!! They would not be able to bring it to the table at all. So, no dinner for us, but we are going to go for breakfast next fall!!

Tiffany

Hey Tiffany! Welcome back!

Oh I can see why you'd shy away from dinner at Ohana. Shellfish allergies are nothing to play around with!

Great couple of updates!

I hope John's meds situation gets resolved soon!

I love the Laugh Floor, but I don't think Davis likes it too much! Glad Jesse got to "participate" I' bet that made his day! :goodvibes

Yum! Both 'Ohana and Kona are great! :mickeybar

On the picky eater at Ohana - My DD 11 is picky and we ate dinner there on our recent trip. While she tried a few bites, and mostly ate bread, the server noticed she didn't eat much and offered her mac and cheese, fries, and a few other things. She said she'd like mac and cheese and or fries, he said "done" and came back a few minutes later with both! She was very happy!

LOL at the knee/neck brace!

Hope things work out with the meds etc.

Was that big Mickey at the vinylmation store made from vinylmations? I've never been in there. Cute light fixture!

The gentleman at Ohana sounds pretty funny! I like his attitude too. :rotfl:

I've never been to O'Hana, and probably never will since I'm not a big fan of that food. But I do plan on visiting the Polynesian on my next trip, so I'll be sure to check out the expensive artwork that I'll never be able to afford. Maybe if I take a good enough picture of one of the pieces, I can blow it up and hand that instead! :lmao:

That stinks about the bus taking so long, but at least Hunter kept all of you, and especially John, entertained.

I love the Vinylmation store, but have been a good girl and avoided buying any except the AK park set. I don't have enough room for all of the souvenirs I have already!

Great update, Lisa.

We still have not eaten at Ohana for dinner. I'm going to have to try to remember to suggest that to Mark for our August trip next year.

I'm sitting here in hysterics scrolling through your pictures of John with Hunter. I can just see John totally losing it and crying as he laughs hysterically.

The bus situation at most resorts is why we normally rent a car. I must say we've had excellent bus service all three of our stays at Old Key West.

John was laughing so hard at Hunter. You know how you get the giggles and you can't stop? That's the way John was that evening. John laughing made us laugh even harder.

From what you've posted in your trip report so far, it sounds like OKW buses are good.

The first time we tried Ohana, I was nervous because I wasn't sure if we'd like it or not. I think the atmosphere adds to the whole meal.

Collecting Vinylmations (or Disney pins for that matter) can get very expensive! I found some on a sale rack at Downtown Disney for Hunter to trade but he ended up liking them all and keeping them.

I appreciate it when a server takes notice that a picky eater isn't eating much and it sounds like your's was Johnny on the Spot.

Yep, the big Mickey was made up of a whole bunch of little Vinylmations. It was neat to see.

Thanks! I hope that the med situation gets worked out soon.

I would have thought that Davis would like the Laugh Floor since he's a funny kinda guy.

Great update! I am always amazed how much a fresh set of clothes and some good food can raise the mood!

Me too! It somehow re-energizes you.

I am hating the outta whack meds right now. It seems like we are fighting a constant medication battle.

I think that we're going to skip Ohana next trip and all eat at Kona since Lacey and Jesse gave it rave reviews. Having said that, Ohana is a definite "repeat" restaurant on our list.

Do you know that we've experienced slow buses at every deluxe resort we've visited? I've never understood that.

I have noticed that too, you'd think with the high prices they pay at the Deluxes, the busses would be quicker...

Great update! Sounds like your dinner at Ohana was a good one, I really want to try it there someday.

Sorry John is having medication issues, I hope he can get them resolved quickly. I know quite a bit about the generic/brand name thing too or at least the difference between the different generics. My MIL has a Blood pressure pill that she takes and can only take the one made by a company called Lupin. She has it noted in her file at the Pharmacy but has to be vigilant about it because they are constantly giving her different ones.

Well, I was going to wait and see how long it would take you all to notice but I can't stand it any longer! Look at the ticker! Yep, we changed from Caribbean Beach to Coronado Springs. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent looking at pictures of the various moderate resorts and reading the pros and cons of each. In the end, we settled on the CSR because it had a beach and if we started feeling homesick for the CBR, we could go over to the Cabanas and lie around in a hammock. We were just so very afraid that, if we chose POR, it would feel too much like home since we are from Louisiana. If any of you have any tips, info, etc. about the CSR you'd like to share, please feel free.

My thoughts exactly! We've been to the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs and we had longer waits for the buses there than at the CBR.

Yay!!! And I like your reasoning for why you did pick CSR, and didn't pick POR. :goodvibes

The only time we've had a horrible bus experience was on the first Herding Cats trip with the in-laws at POR. So, maybe another good reason to swap resorts.

The craziest things happen while you're waiting for the bus, especially with larger groups. The greatest thing was when I left my hat at the stop and my Mom, who got the next bus, came up to me in MK, and said, "Did you lose something?"

We've had breakfast at Ohana, which was good, but DH has a shellfish allergy and I've got a coconut allergy, so we're a little leary about any other meal. We would love to stay at the Poly - and in 2 years from today, or 10th anniversary, we will. (fingers crossed)

Hope Hunter had fun at the party with his girlfriend who's daddy is a deputy. Yeah, that should keep him in line. :thumbsup2

Hurrah for Hollywood! looking forward to the Toy Story Dash...

Thanks for explaining it to me using pictures. Got it now.b:thumbsup2

I'm glad Hunter was able to provide entertainment for you guys during that long bus wait. In 2009 we tried to go from the Poly to Downtown Disney and we too ended up waiting about 45 minutes for a bus. :headache:

I think Coronado Springs looks GORGEOUS! I totally get why you would not be as interested in POR. I come from up North with mountains and skiing and snow, so the Wilderness Lodge does not appeal to me much. I'm very confident that you guys will like CSR. At least I hope so! :goodvibes

Hey Lisa :wave2: Great update! Love you pics of the difference between a ganster and a gansta lol! All your talk about Ohana makes me very hungry...mmm bread pudding. We tried Ohana for the first time this year and I believe that we are hooked. One thing though, and I hope I don't get flamed for this, but we could not stop laughing at the lady that walks around with the kids and the ukulele (I think). Man she just would not stop talking and singing lol! Anyways again thanks for the update :thumbsup2

Oh my....HOW THE HECK DID I MISS THIS????? But didn't you do this once before too? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Seriously, I hope you stick with it and that you love it half as much as us. I know CBR has your heart, but as much as CSR has "our hearts", we are so glad we tried OKW and AKL...because we love those just as much too.

Hi Lisa
You are a very busy lady!
I hope John's blood levels even out...that must be scary and frustrating at the same time.

Glad your mom is doing well, you will just have to keep shopping to find her another hat.
Yeah for the new car for Lacey and Jessie....I like new cars, but not the bill that comes with them :(
I hope they enjoy it!

Wow, Hunter his first date/girlfriend?? He is no longer the little boy we used to read about....!!!
that's funny Lacey was thinking gangsta...lol, I probably would have thought the same...lol

Great update!

How is you husband doing with his meds?

Too funny with the knee brace, even funnier that it got his funny bone!

OMG I just got caught up and I have to say that I laughed so hard my girls thought I was having an old folks moment with your pic!! :rotfl2:

I hope John's situation turns around quickly.

Can't wait to see the pics of Hunter and his date in their costumes.

I loved CSR! It has been sometime since I have been there but I enjoyed the Pepper Market, the grounds and theming.

Can't wait for the next installment! :thumbsup2

the good thing about being gone for a week is several updates to read at once!

I love the pictures of John and Tiana, just wonderful. You can tell he's having a blast and I loved that he chose that knowing he was risking Big Thunder. Very happy you made it on so that we could be treated to Hannibal Lecter! Those are a riot (but no need to be embarrassed...they are just fun pics!).

I've only tried taking a bus from the Poly once and it was horrible...at least 45 minutes and cost us one last time on TSM before it went down for refurb on our trip. We were not happy. Since then I've been told you are better off taking the monorail to the TTC and then catching a bus from there.
