We are closing in towards the 60 day mark:D and I still do not have any excursions picked out!! Does anyone know what they are doing for the excursions for our cruise?I do know my dd(9)and dh want to parasail in CC. Can they do this together? Thanks for any help:confused: Maryann

I'm right there with you! Yes, I think your 9 year old would have to have a parent to go parasailing, so you are all set on that. I'm wondering about the Banana Boat ride. If my 8 year old son fell off, he wouldn't be frightened, but he wouldn't be able to traverse the ocean currents either to get back to shore. As long as he was in a life jacket he would be fine bobbing until he climbed back on, I think. Still not sure on that one! I think we are doing St. John on our own and have not made up my mind for sure on St. Marteen. I'm leaning toward doing it on our own as well. Then we can go to whatever beach looks lovely and uncrowded that day.

Are you figuring 9/2 is the 60 day mark? I think it is Labor Day, and I wondered if the office would even be open for reservations.

Hi My3kids, yes I thought of the kids falling off the boat ride, they are good swimmers, but will they panic when they fall off? I was thinking of the Golden Eagle ride for ST. Marteen, and have no idea for St. Thomas? Maybe a Beach day ? But if they are booked when I call, no big deal. We will just go on our own!

Hi there!
We are on the 11/2 Eastern sailing, also. Thinking of booking the a.m. Catamaran/snorkel on St. Maarten...to leave the afternoon open for shopping or some "ship time". On St. Thomas, leaning toward catching a cab to Coki Beach and Coral World in the a.m. (maybe it won't be too crowded early in the day), and then by mid-day heading back to the ship for lunch. Hope to go into town or the nearby shops in the afternoon.
Our daughter will be in the 8-10 yr. old kids club (she'll be 8 by the time we sail), and our son will be in the 5-7 club (he'll by 5).
Only 70 days to go!

Toni

I've racked my brain trying to find something that we could do with the kids (DS12, DS10, DD7) but found really not much other than excursions to the beaches. I think we will do some shopping and take a cab to a beach for the day. I hope I don't regret my decision when the 60 day mark comes and goes but with the age range it seems best that we lay low and just relax this time around.

70 days? I want it to be tomorrow! (So does my DH so I will stop talking about this trip)

We just got back from the Eastern last week.

When you are at St. Thomas, I would encourage you to try to get to St. John. It is absolutely GORGEOUS there. 3/4 of the island is a national park. We did the 5-Star St. John Snorkel tour . . . it was excellent. Even our 7 year old was able to snorkel, but I think he had more fun building sand castles on the beach at Trunk Bay . . .

C_U_Soon, my youngest daughter will be 8 in January, do you think they will let her in the 8-10 club? This way she will be with her sister? I'm thinking probably not, but it would be great if they can be together. Is anyone going to make any spa reservations?

I wasn't planning on doing any spa treatments until I read so much about the surial bath. Sent my DH a link of a mans report on the surial bath and he was more than interested. So adding spa ressies to my dash.

I'm thinking of doing the Golden Eagle with my kids (DS-9 and DD-6). Afterward I thought I would take them back to the ship where they could hang out in the club and me and DH can head over to Orient Beach.
For St. THomas..I'm still researching.

C-U-soon - looks like our kids will be in the clubs together.

The time is passing by so quickly for me now ( probably b/c of getting ready for back to school). Can't wait!

Anna B,
I was thinking of doing the catamaran ride in the a.m. in St. Marteen, and then doing a little bit of shopping(jewelry;) ) in the afternoon. I was wondering about leaving the girls (7&9) in the clubs in the afternoon. Do the pagers reach you on the islands? I guess I will see how they do the first few days in the club before I make that decision.I just printed out the menus and room service menus so my husband could get a little involved!!!!(lol)

I agree with you about waiting to find out more about how the kids like the clubs ( but with fingers crossed I am hopping they will enjoy it so much they won't want to know my name). My kids are very independent so I suspect they won't have a problem and I will be back on board in time for dinner. I have heard of many people doing similar plans for their days on the islands.

My kids don't know we are going yet...they think we are just going to WDW ( which we are) but they have no idea about the cruise portion of our vacation.

LUVTOGO-From what I have been reading on these boards, it doesn't sound like they are very willing to bump a child "up" to the next level in the kids clubs...but are willing to let them drop down a level (if they had a recent birthday). I've also read, though, that sometimes they are willing to let your child move up a level if the ship isn't at capacity. A tough call...
As far as the spa goes, I am planning on booking a couples massage on Castaway Cay (just hope we can get a reservation).
AnnaB-my daughter is the independent one, and she is really looking forward to going to the clubs...just hope that it works out. My son is much more "clingy" and is not real good about new places/faces. But, our neighbors are also going on this cruise and their son is 7...so they will be in the same kids club. In the end, if they only participate in a few things, that will be fine. There are sooo many fun/interesting sessions!

We're on the Eastern 4 wks after you - Nov 30th.
As of now DH, DS10.5 and I are thinking of the Sea & See on St Marten followed by DH gambling
On St Thomas we are thinking of doing Coral World on our own then stopping at the Paradise Point tram.
Castaway Cay the boys are snorkeling and we're renting the floats.
