I'm very excited now that the seller has accepted our offer on 100 points at SSR!!! :woohoo: Now I'm waiting on contracts to be emailed to me so I can review, sign and send them back.

Here are the details:

Used **** ***** with *************** to make an offer on a contract listed at Fidelity. I had been checking (much too often really) on various sites and saw one pop up Friday evening sometime for 100 points, June use year at SSR - exactly what we were looking for.
First called Fidelity even though I wasn't going to be crazy about working directly with them. No answer - it is Friday evening on a holiday weekend after all, so understandable.
Decided to email******************. Saturday morning had an email back from ****. Decided to make an offer and emailed (and called) it in to ****. He had explained Fidelity was closed for the weekend due to the holiday so it would be Tuesday at the earliest before the offer could be gotten to the seller.

Communication with **** has been great so far. Hopefully there will be no major upsets down the road. I'm not really worried about Disney ROFR'ing this one. More worried that something will come up that it isn't as it appears, etc. Is it possible to ask for confirmation of the points currently available?

I'm sooo excited

Hmmm, now I know what the ********** stand for in other people's posts! :rotfl:

It means the gentlemen in the black Suburbans have been visiting DIS and redacting the posts for top secret information. Personally, i just put in any word i want for the "***************"...

I'll translate the original post for you:

"... Used Peter Pan with Tinkerbell's DVC Sales to make an offer on a contract listed at Fidelity. I had been checking (much too often really) on various sites and saw one pop up Friday evening sometime for 100 points, June use year at SSR - exactly what we were looking for.

Decided to email Tinkerbell's DVC Sales. Saturday morning had an email back from Tink herself. Decided to make an offer and emailed (and called) it in to Capt. Hook with Fidelity. He had explained Fidelity was closed for the weekend due to the holiday so it would be Tuesday at the earliest before the offer could be gotten to the seller.

Good luck, I hope it all works out for you. I don't know if Fidelity or Tinkerbell's DVC Sales can call Disney and confirm the number of points available for the current, past and next use year is possible. When they email the sales/offer contract to you it will have the last name of the seller on it. You can go to orange country tax office and look up the deed using that name and looking for it to be attached to SSR. Once you find the proper deed you now have their first and last names (plus the county and state they live in from the notary seal) and you want to see what other documents are attached to that name. Others have actually found a foreclosure document for the contract they were trying to buy... So i would definitely do some leg work. Information is power and you want to be well informed.

Congratulations!! We purchased our first resale through Tinkerbell's DVC Sales with a Fidelity listing as well.. :rotfl: Everything has gone smoothly and communication has been great! We just received closing docs 7/3 and the closing company informed us they were closed from 7/4 - 7/11... .. waiting continues and we can't wait to make our first reservation! Hope your process goes smoothly!! :cheer2:

The closing company is closed for a whole week??? That seems a bit much... I suppose there is no hurry on getting my deposit check in the mail. I planned on sending it with delivery confirmation.

I'm glad to hear that your experience has gone well. Hopefully mine will too.

I've already looked up the deed information and haven't found anything that looks funny, so that is encouraging.

Thanks for the Congratulations! :wizard:

Congrats, Julie! Fancy running into you here!

Hmmm, do I know you??? ;) And you've been a member since 2006 and I get the distinct honor and pleasure of being the topic of your first post??? :thumbsup2 Thank you very much for the congrats. We are very excited! Or at least I am... DH is being cautious. I really hope this turns out to be a positive experience for him.

Yea.. we are using Timeshare Title and More... I asked them to let me know when they get the seller docs in and we'll wire the money right away... I don't want it to be held there if the process gets dragged out... :goodvibes

I usually gather information here, but I usually don't have anything to say. Anything I would say is usually said by the time I think to say it...or something like that! I think DH is pretty excited, to tell the truth! ANd the weird thing is the day I found out you guys had bought in, your DSIL (?) showed up at my trivia night, so it was a day full of Ecks!

Yes, I heard about that. The next day I spoke with my MIL (it'd been awhile since talking to her) and she said "so SIL heard from Ryfun that you bought in to DVC?!?" I was like what??? It JUST happened! She generally thinks it's good for us as often as we go. I didn't try to correct her at all.

The 100 points we bought would only cover about 1/2 of the stays we've been averaging these past few years. If we keep up that pace, we will still stay at the values/mods some trips and will use DVC as our "splurge" trips. On the other hand, I think DH is thinking this will help to curtail our trips down there. :scared1: We will only go on DVC points and when they are gone, they are gone. Of course, I'm already thinking adding on... ;)
