My experience with JetBlue is that the prices continue to rise following initial release. I tend to book first day but my wife is a teacher so we travel during peak seasons (i.e. March Break) and I've never seen the prices drop for March Break.

My experience with JetBlue is that the prices continue to rise following initial release. I tend to book first day but my wife is a teacher so we travel during peak seasons (i.e. March Break) and I've never seen the prices drop for March Break.

We have found the same thing. We have never yet had a JetBlue flight decrease in price after booking.....and we have used them for 7 flights so far.

With JetBlue, I always recommend to book as early as you can. That system has never failed us yet.

I am anxious to see what kind of prices come out for March Break today! Start of last week, through a post on the Transportation boards, about JetBlue flights showing up into March on Hipmunk.com for great prices. I booked my flights, worried that it wasn't legit, but seemed to be. When I did the check on Hipmunk it came up Buf to Orlando on March 7th (Friday) return March 15th (Sat) at $125 each way on JetBlue. I went through the whole booking process on JetBlue's sight. I was even able to log in under my trueblue account. I was able to apply credits that we received last year from flight delays. So my total for roundtrip for March Break with the credits came to $899. My credit was only $100.00 total. So would have cost me $999.00 I paid $1360 for JetBlue last March Break. I don't think many people were able to catch this glitch, and I chalk it up to right place, right time. Good luck today.

Our dates (Sat. to Sat) of March break came up at $605 each - plus tax ... so that came to just over $4000 for six people! No way! One year we decided last minute on Christmas Day to book for the break and we paid $99 one way and $129 home! So you never know when random drops happen.

Last year my hubby, two daughters, and I drove to Cleveland to fly out for the Saturday morning of March Break. We paid $1300 for the four of us return. I haven't found great rates from Buffalo the last couple of years during March Break. I can only travel at that time, so it really limits us.

Anyone know when Southwest dates will come out for March break?

Those prices are crazy high. Looks like we'll be waiting until the Southwest release.

Friends have encouraged us to look into Pittsburgh departures too, since it's just that much further and their school break does not coincide with that of Canadian school boards.

From the Southwest website:

We are currently accepting air reservations through February 12, 2014. On July 22, 2013, we will open our schedule for sale through March 7, 2014. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.


So - although I leave before March Break, I have to wait for the next release to price returns.

We flew Southwest out of Cleveland. They don't have Jet Blue out of that airport
