Hilton Head is one of my favorite places on earth. Every year my hubby has a 4 day business meeting there at the Westin Resort (this is where we always stay
). I have always wanted to check out the Disney resort there.
One of our favorite places to eat is a restaurant called The Chart House. Amazing views of the sunset over the water and wonderful food. Perfect for a date night, not so much for kids.
We have gone on a jet ski tour on the intercoastal waterway. There were dolphins swimming along side us. We've been able to sit on the beach on HHI and watch the dolphins right off the shore. (I shouldn't mention the 4-foot shark in shin-deep water that we encountered this year, but I am still a little freaked out by it!)
There are lots of great shops. They are doing a complete overhaul of the mall on the island (it needed it!) There is a huge conglomeration of outlet malls and plenty of local shops as well.
You will definitely need your GPS when navigating around the area. All the signage is very subtle and it's really hard to find places. Beautiful, but difficult to navigate.
