Exchanging QS meal for snacks at Starbucks

It's been around 5 years since I last used the dining plan.. A lot has changed in the dining plan, and in Disney.

So just added the free dining plan for my family of me (me, wife, Disney adult child, Disney child child). My wife will not be using a lot of her meal credits (she is going to spa a couple of the days I take the kids into the parks).
Anyway.... It will likely leave us with a few extra QS credits. If I understand correctly, it is now "official" that a QS meal can be exchange for 3 snacks?
Could I go to Starbucks in the Park (Main Street Bakery or whatever), and exchange a QS credit for 3 Starbucks beverages?
Or would they only allow 1 beverage and 2 food items, as an exchange for a meal?

I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one report of someone doing this, but you know as well as I do that even if someone did it today, doesn't mean you will be able to tomorrow.

Your best bet is to just go in and ask nicely. I know that doesn't help for planning, but it's probably all you're going to get.

We don't go for 6 weeks, but I have seen numerous mentions here that, yes, you can exchange 1qs for 3snacks, and at Starbucks all drinks/any size count as a snack, as does much of the food. Any combinations seems fine.

In theory, it shouldn't be an issue.... It now seems to be official policy that you can get 3 snacks for 1 QS credit. But I can just imagine being stopped from doing it at Starbucks, as it's clearly not one meal.

Using free dining, for my family of 4 and:
1 -- I expect a lot of extra QS credits, because my wife is going to spend part of the trip off property at a spa, and therefore skipping a lot of meals on property.
2 -- Not so much myself, but several members of our party at Starbucks addicts. (traveling with another family who won't be on the dining plan but are entirely addicted to Starbucks).

It's unclear to me whether this can be done at places that don't already have QS meals in the system... although it works at the food and wine/f&g boots. so who knows. and one CM may say no and another may say yes. If the register can do it, it would seem to be legit, but that doesn't mean they are all trained on it.

I believe you are allowed to do it as long as the snacks are all in one transactions at one location. However, you may have CMs who are unfamiliar with actually doing this. I would ask, and if the CM is not aware of it see if you can get a manager who can either do it or explain why you can't/let you know locations that can.

We did it last year and got 3 bags of carmel corn in Germany to take home.....yum:)
