I rode in the front seat of one a long time ago when it took my grandmother to the hospital. I don't think they let you do that anymore.

Yes, I have ridden once when I was 18. Was very sick and required surgery that had to be done at another hospital.

Yes, twice...once after a car accident & once last April when I kept passing out in an office building.

Ridden in an ambulance once. Called 911 for an ambulance for accidents seen while driving a few times.

Happy Halloween!!!

What sort of different Halloween treats have you ever received/handed out? Are you expecting any trick or treaters tonight at your house?

We usually don't get any trick or treaters, but this year we have more young children in the street so we might get some. I have a bag of small cadbury's fun size chocolates just in case. I have never been trick or treating so have never recieved halloween candy.

I usually go to BJ's wholesale club and purchase a couple of large bags of Hershey's chocolate bars. There's about 4 or 5 different kind of bars in the bag. I'm hoping we have lots of kids so we don't have any candy left by the end of the night.

Its raining yet again :sad2: I don't expect trick or treaters this afternoon.

In the past I have always had chocolate and gum, this year - fun dip, blow pops, mini Oreos, gummie lifesavers, and rice krispie treats.

I buy the small bags of unpopped popcorn from Sam's Club. Plus I have other candy to hand out.
Seems like 80 or so is our norm.

In WA we have never had any ToTs because of where we live.
I'm in AZ this year....not sure how many we will get. We are at the end of a street with several empty lots and empty houses around us. They might not think it is worth it to walk down this way. We'll see.
I got candy from Costco. The variety packs with M&Ms, Snickers, Starbust, Skittles, 3 Musketeers.
DD has cards for a free karate lesson to hand out :rotfl:

Yes, I'm expecting lots of trick or treaters. I'm handing out twix, snickers and m&m's.

We have had trick or treaters since 12:30....alraedy through 2 baskets of candy.
I have an assortment of 15 candies because I like the baskets to look pretty.

Wow, I thought that trick or treating started from dawn.
Here, it begins at dusk.

When I was a kid, we received lots of different kinds of candy and homemade stuff like popcorn balls and cookies. Of course, we didn't eat the homemade stuff unless we knew the people. And we knew most of our neighbors. Unlike today where you can live on a street and not really know anyone.

My kids also received lots of different kinds of candy. Homemade stuff was thrown away since we usually trick or treated in another neighborhood. The houses are not close together here. They also received canned soft drinks in some neighborhoods.

I always liked to give out small candy bars since I like to eat them. ;) Once my mom moved here, we would trick or treat in her neighborhood and I would help pay for the candy she passed out. Since the kids are grown, she doesn't pass out candy anymore but I've thought about just going over there and doing it myself. We don't get anyone coming by for the reason I posted above.

:confused3Your Mom doesn't give away candy because your kids have grown up?

Since this is the first year that I've lived in an area that has kids, will be handing out chips tonight. The trick or treaters usually come out between 6pm and 8pm, so should be expecting them in an hr. DH will take the kids out trick or treating in our area, while I stay behind, and take care of the trick or treaters. Have a great Holloween everyone!

Trish

We had about 6 groups of kids, so if I had to guess I would say we had about 20 kids. I have lots of candy left over, I will need to hide it from myself, since chocolate bars is one of my weakness. Hopefully I'll have the will power to stay away from the candy bowl.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE

Basically yes. Since they don't trick or treat anymore, she doesn't give out candy. She also has medical problems which makes it hard for her to get up and around sometimes. It's just easier for her to leave the light off and not answer the door.
