Happy Girl's Day!

In honor of Girl's Day, the QOTD is a question related to Japan. What types of Japanese foods do you like?

Does no one else like Japanese food other than myself? I like shrimp tempura, sashimi, sushi, ..... I could go on, and on.

Do you watch Dancing with the Stars? They had announced their new line up of competitors....if you were to select one male, and one femail competitor that you would like to see on there, who would they be?

The only japanese food I have tried is sushi, I do like that.

No I don't watch dancing with the stars.

When we had Japanese exchange students, they prepared sushi for us. I didn't like it, but I tried to be polite and eat some of it. :upsidedow I don't think I've tried anything else.

I was kind of disappointed with the new DWTS line up. Not sure I will watch this time around. If I could choose any two for a future show, I would pick Oprah or Diane Sawyer and Mick Jagger. :woohoo:

Umm I like the japanese steak house, does that count? lol

I do not watch Dancing with the Stars. I will sometimes watch clips of it, but I don't watch the show.

I like tempura, but that's about all I've tried.

I really don't watch any reality TV.

Do you mean where they cook in front of you? If so yes, that is called teppanyaki.

3 way tie 'tween green chile chicken soup, tortilla soup, and butternut squash soup...and I love all salads (not as crazy about the green salads with fruit in them, but i do still like them lol) :surfweb:

I owe you 60 more questions. lol I'll get to at least some of them today. I'm running around like an idiot so far today. lol

Okay...soup....I'm going to have to go with italian wedding soup. YUM. And salad...buffalo chicken salad from Hooters. yeah, I said from Hooters. :lmao:

LOL, no problem-anytime.

I am not a soup person, and don't eat much salad. But, I would pick-
Miso soup, and Chinese chicken salad or a Chicken cesear salad

Soup - my all time favorite is a bowl of tomato soup with buttered bread. But I do like potato and chicken noodle, both homemade please.

Salad - my favorite is a chef salad, but I will eat any salad.

I must be in the mood for soup or salad though, or I don't eat either.

I enjoy watching Dancing with the Stars. I don't care who is on there as long as they try.

What types of Japanese foods do you like?
We ate at Ohanas the other night and I had Hibachi chicken. The chef cooked on the grill in front of us. The rice and vegetables were good. The chicken was on the dry side. I don't know if it was Japanese food or not.

What is your favorite type of soup, and salad?
I like soup with lots of stuff in it and less broth. I'm sort of off salads at the moment but there is one that we got at a restaurant that is no longer open. It was mostly romaine lettuce, with blue cheese crumbles, some kind of dressing and walnuts sprinkled on top. Delicious!

I love soups and salads.
We have green salad every night with dinner.

My favorite soups are split pea, navy bean, butternut squash, tortilla, black bean, Italian sausage....and many more....all home made

Salads....love caesars, Cobb, chop, ones with fruit (Red Robin has a great apple one....also a great chicken fajita salad).

Tell us about your neighbors.
I have good neighbors. We all watch out for each other. The ones to the right of us, we trade out feeding each other's dogs and picking up each others mail when we are out of town. We each have a key to the others house. In warmer weather, it's not unusual to see us outside talking to different ones. The ages of the adults range from the 30's to the 80's. The children's ages range from about four to 18.

I haven't been on the exchange board for ages, so I thought I'd drop by! I'm waiting for the sign ups for the next pin exchange at the end of the week. The UK Disney stores have finally started selling pins and doing pin trading, they have some really cute ones!!

Tell us about your neighbors.

I just have one set of neighbours as the other side of my house leads on to a big field. My current neighbours are wonderful. They are a retired couple and are very friendly. They always take parcels for us when they get delivered when we are at work, they feed our pets for us when we go away (actually they feed our cats when we are not away, several times I have come home from work to see my cat in their house! They used to have cats when they were younger so they like having them around and feed them salmon and chicken from their lunch!!), they lend us items when we need to borrow things and we do the same for them. When the weather is bad we make sure we stop by to check if they need anything from the shops etc and DH fixes their computers when they go wrong. Quite often in the summer they will be out in the back garden when I get home from work and if they are having their afternoon gin and tonic they pass one over the fence for me!!

Isn't it wonderful when you have good neighbors? While my previous post sounds like everythings hunky-dory, we have had our own mini dramas unfold during the last 14 1/2 years that we have lived here. Husbands (not mine) cheating on their wives, drunken husbands driving their riding lawn mower up and down the street at midnight, etc. We have our own little Peyton Place going on sometimes. :rotfl:
