If you had to grab a fast breakfast since you have to be out of the door for an appointment, what would you get?

Well, usually I have a fast breakfast anyway. Cereal and banana....if I can't even fit that in, then it is a granola bar that I take with me and eat it in the car.

If I really need something in a hurry hopefully I have a banana around. Worse case I chug a large glass of milk.

How is the weather in everyone else's area? We are now experiencing a tropical storm with strong winds, and rain. I hope my internet does not go down. :surfweb:

Sunny and cold here. We were suppose to get a little snow yesterday but nothing came of it. I think I saw on the news the other night that the low on Friday.....0 !!! :scared1:

Be safe in the storm!!

We had some nasty rain/snow last night here. It made for some difficult driving conditions here locally. Today just overcast and rainy. We've had some rare vistors to the bird food that we put out for the local birds when the snow hit. We have a family of 5 Stellar Jays visiting the bird food, so yesterday bought a large bag of sunflower seeds for them to snack on. They are common throughout the lower mainland, but have never been seen here till a couple of days ago. I guess because of all the snow we've had, all their food is underwater at the moment, and are venturing outside their normal habitat.

As for breakfast food on the go, either don't bother until I find the time, or grab a handful of raisins.

Have a great day!!

Trish

I'd grab a cereal bar to eat on the go. I usually have time for breakfast though as I get a bit of quiet time after everyone else heds of for the day.

The cold snap is over here now but it's very wet and windy. We never really get extreme weather. I'm always shocked at other weather reports.

A piece of toast and a cup of coffee.

How is the weather in everyone else's area?
Sunny and in the 50's today.

Good luck with the weather, Patsy....don't send that storm this way. We have had enough.
Cool......42 here today and still raining, but just a light one.

The storm has passed, and we are now having a nice day. It is the calm after the storm. Another one is suppost to be coming through either tonight, or tomorrow so we will see when or if it happens.

If your electricity had gone off, what five food items would you worry about going bad first that is currently in your refrigarator or freezer?

Before the generator days ;)
ice cream, eggs and milk.....don't worry too much about the rest. It would take a long time for them

Like the others, milk, eggs, lunchmeat, cheese. It all depends on how long the electricity is off. Fortunately, we have never had it off for more than a couple of hours.

Our electricity has never been off fo longer than and hour but when our old fridge/freezer bust I had to keep my milk, cheese, yoghurts etc in a box in our shed. That was a real pain!

So, I have been thinking about Easter, and what to make. When I go on allrecipes.com, there are many recipes out there for carrot cake. So, today's QOTD is-

*Do you like carrot cake?

yep, I do. You sure are thinking far away ;)

Yes, I am thinking of planting new plants, and bulbs in my garden, spring/Easter exchanges, Easter baskets, egg hunts.... :)

As for the QOTD. I do like carrot cake, especially if it has no nuts, and cream cheese frosting. YUM!

I like the very dense carrot cake my mother used to make with nuts, raisins and pineapple and cream cheese frosting.
