With New Years a couple days away, are you doing anything to prepare for it?


At our house, we clean it similar to a small spring cleaning, and we make mochi as a good luck thing.

No, but we probably should. Our house could use some spring cleaning!

Taking down all the decorations and tree today....that gets it all clean

I put everything away yesterday. Carol thinks the family room looks so naked. I do have a snowman runner and a few snowmen knickknacks out. I always save them for January.

If you could change one thing that happened to you this year, what would it be?

There's not anything that happened to me that I would change, just the decision I made not to go to New York with the band in March. I really, really don't like to fly and I sort of regret the decision not to go now.

We don't really do anything special to get ready.

I have no real regrets from this year. So nothing I would need to change.

We will probably NOT be up when the ball drops.

I don't do anything special to get ready for NYE. I am off this week still so I will be cleaning and organizing some rooms I neglect.

One thing I'd change from happening this past year is avoiding spraining my calf. It has been terrible, and still is not healed 8 months later.

I like to watch the Twilight Zone marathon and switch to other marathons on tv. I will switch to Dick Clarke's NYE for the ball drop if I am awake still.

Happy New Year's Eve.
We will be staying home....and I won't see the ball drop. That is past my bedtime DH is a night owl, so he might.

Anyone else have issues with the new board upgrade?
Sometimes it is loading nice and fast and other times VERY painfully slow.
Took 5 minutes for one post to go through

Yes, I think the boards were running extremely slow last night. I had to wait and wait for pages to load and I have a fast connection. (fast this morning though)

I worked a few hours NYE in Epcot. Had a great time!
Last year I worked in MK NYE, and had a good time. But loved last night.
Afterwards I went home. Then DH and I went behind MK and watched the 2007/2008 fireworks. Wonderful!
Today -- off to USO. I think we will finally be Macy's parade balloon handlers today, if all works out.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

I was up till almost 2:00 last night. Carol had five friends over and then three more friends called about 9:00 and asked if they could come over to shoot fireworks. They had a blast and didn't set too much of my yard on fire. They all gathered in front of the tv to watch the 10 second countdown and toasted each with with sparkling cider at midnight. It was fun watching them.
