Cake ;)

Some type of salad

Whatever the main food is. Be it burgers or subs, etc.

Hi!
I like ice cream more than cake, and then pizza and M&M's!
Bobbi:goodvibes

cake (cupcakes work too!), ice cream and hot dogs/burgers....pizza is good too. It depends on the weather around here and the crowd. I usually give my kids a choice of a couple of things and let them pick.

I can tell you that make your own sundaes was the biggest hit at all my kids parties!! Although now I think they (and their friends) want to do it every year!!

Have fun!!

Kimba

Thanks for the make your own sundaes idea. I may do this at my July 1 BBQ.

By the way your all invited. :) Just let me know your coming so I can call the gate to get you in.

I'll come to your July 1 one, if you come to my July 4 one, Heidi ;)

We do a potluck and make toppings for the ice cream one of the items people bring. We get a ton...and some interesting things too

:woohoo: Washington on July 4th and John IS on vacation that week. :rolleyes1

Should I be afraid to ask what the interesting things are that people bring? :upsidedow

Also do you just have vanilla and chocolate ice cream?

Usually both, but with all the toppings, vanilla is the most popular.
Nothing too bad for topping....lots of fresh fruit, loads of syrups. I think I have about 10 unopened ones here from last year. People like the ones that harden on the ice cream.
Nuts, marshmallows, red hots, sprinkles, chocolate chips, M&Ms, chocolate covered raisins and nuts, whipped cream, marshmallow fluff, peanut butter, cherries, Reeses pieces, jams, crushed cookies.

Thanks for the invite Heidi. :)

No sundaes here since there is too many people, except 80 or more. But, we have done this before for my SS's birthday party and itt was a hit.

As for food, this is what my menu consists of-
Regular white rice
Sticky rice
Somen salad
Tossed salad
Hot dogs
Mac/potato salad
Miso sesame chicken
Sukiyaki
Teriyaki beef sticks
Edamame
Shoyu chicken
Baked tofu
Kalua pig
Pasta salad
Spring rolls
Namasu
Nishime
Maki sushi
***And we may have a pig roast.

Desserts-
A full sheet of cake
Jello one or two different types, and doubling the recipe
Butter mochi-possibly also a tri-color mochi-doubling or tripling the recipe.
Bundt cake-still deciding on what type, but I will need to at least make two.
Almond float-doubling the recipe.
Fruit of some sort...and will think and make other things as they come.

Drinks-
Kona coffee
Water
Soda
Juice
Tea
Beer

This sounds like a great spread. I'll catch the next plane to Hawaii. You won't even notice one more person.

Sure, come on over Colleen and everyone else.
It seems like there are always extra guests that people bring over.

And, you can ever hit the pinata :lmao: .

I figured vanilla would be the most popular.
Your list could get me into to trouble. Mix it all together and then
get good and sick. :teeth: But it would be soooo goood.

A few other toppings that kids like: gummy bears, gummy worms, those gel icing tubes (used for writing on cakes) and crushed pretzels.

It's always fun!! A little messy but fun!!

LOL...well you don't have to have all the toppings...at least not at once. Just an excuse to have more ice cream.

And we did have over 80 last year, ice cream sundaes happen no matter how many people we have. This is our 24th year of having the July 4th bash

Patsy, DH is going to be in HI next week. I almost came with him but air was too $$$. And he is going to be in Honolulu anyway :(

Whew... I had a harrowing night last night. As I was traveling home from a CEU course, I had a blow out (my left passenger tire) on a VERY busy bridge. I think my Angels were watching over me because I had a car behind me keep pace with me, and follow me over so that no cars would crash into me. One minute s/he was in my rear view, the next minute they were gone and I was in the break down lane. *wipes brow*

I waited about 15 minutes and the Road Rangers came, but sadly I didn't have my spare in my trunk.. I had gods know what all in my trunk.. yes, I am a compulsive shopper, but no spare. My boyfriend/fiancee, came and we waited 3 hours for a tow truck, but the Road Ranger stayed with us, until my car was safely on the bed of the truck, and I was off the bridge. Now that's what I call service.

Now today, $289 later, My car has 2 new wheels, a full allingment and an oil change and she's running right as rain.

Wow, we would have been so close to each other. And there are special airfare prices tonight that are running at $19.00, so it wouldn't cost much to come to this island :(.
Hope you husband has a safe trip. Did you ask him to bring you back any special gifts?
