DH is in CO...he called driving in it also. Haven't heard from him since.
Maybe they found each other somewhere and are at a bar or something
This is very late for us to be getting snow.....we get very little of it usually anyway.
That actually does sound like something mine would do but I would at least appreciate another phone call so I know he ain't dead or in trouble!
I have only lived in CO for about 8 years now, and every single one of those years we have gotten snow here in town during the second week of MAY! And the high country has gotten snow the second week of JUNE! It does not really accumulate and it melts quickly but it still just boggles my mind
We ended up with 8". Guess I am staying home today
We are not used to this and it takes forever to get the streets cleared because we don't have the equipment.
So....hopefully it will be good tomorrow. I have things that have to be done before we leave.
Wasn't spring supposed to come early??
Kayla. We would be snow bound forever with 3'
An added problem we will have now with this late snow, is it will get to 50 this weekend and then the snow will melt in the mountains and we will be on flood watch
Susan...what is a 747....I know it is a plane but I don't think that is what is in your house I assume some kind of insect??
Yeah, it looks like a gigantic mosquito but it actually eats them. Luckily they don't come after us! Their bodies are up to 2" in length but very thin and their legs even longer. They just fly around and scare the kids.

The ones here are actually crane flies--gross, and there are days when they hatch where there are just swarms of them when you walk through the grass. Our dog tries to eat them....she's not the brightest bulb in the pack.
BTW, they really don't eat mosquitoes!
Having a DS who wants to be an entomologist means you read bug books instead of fairy tales at night!
My DH did finally come home, and yes, he really did stop with his buddy at a bar & grill for some dinner!
Normally when the weather is nice the Springs are only 35 minutes from Parker (my town, the southernmost metro suburb) and maybe another 30 minutes into LoDo (downtown Denver proper), but when it is snowy and/or icy and rush hour to boot I can totally see it being 5 hours or more! Monument Hill is about the halfway point 'tween Springs and Parker and it is a traffic accident nightmare when it is cold and wet .
And for the record, the mental picture of those ginormous insects really has me creeped out, but if I keep referring to them by the 747 nickname I somehow start to giggle and it isn't so bad!
Hello to all the DIS exchanger...just wanted to post some information that might be of help to us all...it is about using DC (delivery confirmation) with our exchanges. If you have used a DC and after 14 days the package has not arrived you can fill out a PS Form 1510 with the postoffice (this can be downloaded from their site USPS) or call 1-800-222-1811 ( number to call with issues related to domestic mail tracking) These tools can help in finding lost letters and packages and if we were good...and put our return address on our packages... it could help us get the lost package back. I hope this will be of help...

Hi everyone.
Hope everyone is having a nice week.
So is the weather getting better in everyones area? It is usually sunny here during the mornings, then it gets cloudy and it sometimes rains during the afternoons. I realized today that the sun has been setting later during the evenings. Tonight, at 7:00, it wasn't totally dark yet. I like being able to stay outside till a later time watching the kids play, and then coming inside for dinner.
If anyone else would like to join in for the UNbirthday present exchange, hurry, hurry, hurry and send me your info. I will be closing the sign ups in the morning when I get up.
Okay.....who sent us snow
We just got 6" in about 2 1/2 hours.....I still have errands to do before our trip.
Send some snow-go away pixie dust this way so I can get out and down the hill tomorrow.
