I haven't been in a fire, but to know how to use a fire extinguisher. No safety plan, just everyone get out safe.

We've never had our house catch on fire but Joe has scared me and the kids a time or two. At our house in Dallas, our patio was covered and the gas grill was set in the concrete under the that cover. Joe let the fire on the grill get so high once we thought the patio cover was going to catch on fire.

And here at our present home, Joe has built fires in the fireplace so big that I just knew it would all come down around our ears. Fortunately, he doesn't do that anymore.

As for an escape plan, we have three different outside doors besides the windows we could escape through. The kids were told to go through the window and head towards the street. We would meet them there. We live in a one story.

Just heard on the news that New Jersey is cutting alot of firefighters, and police men. If this were to happen in your state/country, what type of effect or impact do you think will happen within your area?

Our fire department is volunteer so if our house catches on fire, it will just burn to the ground.

As far as the police department, I imagine crime would go up. We're a pretty safe community but I wouldn't want the small police department that we do have made any smaller.

Since our town is cut in half by an interstate, the police and state highway police catch a lot of drug runners as they are passing through. To decrease the department would not be a good thing.

More fire, and more crime, especially around where the "Crime Train" is as the locals call the elevated light rail transport system we have in the Greater Vancouver area.

Probably the same as last year, bake a sugar free birthday cake, and go out with the family for dinner. I'm finally in single digits for our surprise family trip to DL 9 days and counting!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I turn 50 this year, so I want to do something special. I'm planning a trip to WDW but I will be there after my birthday (my birthday is May 20th, I'm going to Disney Sept. 3). I want to celebrate with my family, but I don't want a party, I just want to do something with them. I did tell my dad that I would like to go to this great German restaurant, it's a little expensive so I figure it will be a nice place to celebrate.

Probably go to the State Fair. We've done that numerous times so it's almost a tradition. Joe's birthday is the day after mine so we celebrate together.

What I think that I'd really like to do is go to Las Vegas. Our 30th anniversary is in June and I could hold off till the Fall to go.

Usually we stay on site, for our birthdays.
Although last year for DH's we spent 2 nights on the Gulf.
My b-day is when Star Wars Weekend is on. So often we are there for that. (I have only seen one SW movie and know next to nothing. But I still enjoy the Hyperspace Hoopla, parade and such.)
One year we went on the Behind the Seeds Tour and then had afternoon tea at the GF. That was very nice too.
However I would like to do something different this year, and have been thinking.... :upsidedow

I hope to do nothing for my birthday. My little one will be in school as well, so hoping my husband has the day off, and will be able to take the kids to school, and pick them up. This has never happened ever since my daughter has gone to school. I either have to bring her to school, and pick her up, or one or the other. So that might seem simple, but that would be a treat for me. And to just pick up dinner, and have no mess, while relaxing at home. :goodvibes

With the new season of American Idol starting there are new judges, and their way is different then the past judges. If you were a judge on the show, what would you bring to the table? Do you have any background in music? What type of songs would you like to hear being sung? Do you think you would be a nice judge, tough judge....? And if you were to replace one of the judges that are on this seasons panel, who would you replace, and who would the replacement be?

I'm not watching this season so I don't know who I would replace but I would probably be a middle of the road type of judge. I used to play piano and was in choir so I would bring that to the table. I would like to take it back to the first season where they sang different genres instead of different artists.

I don't have any background in music. If I were a judge I'd be a nice one, unless they started to argue or make excuses and then I could be mean. I would like to hear show tunes, Maroon 5, anything pop, ABBA, 90's pop, some country...anything but Queen haha. If I could replace someone it would probably be Steven Tyler and I'd replace him with Simon Cowell, the show is just not the same without him!

I don't watch it, as I find the judges to be way too easy on the contestants. If I were a judge, I would be a female version of Simon Cowell.

I also do not have a background in music. I think I would be the nice judge, and if I were to take someone off, I would pick Steven, and replace him with Madonna.

Not a music person. I admire those who are. But I could take it or leave it. Can't stand musicals. :tilt:
I watched a part of one season years ago. And have not watched since.
I do like going to the AI Experience occasionally. But DH is the opposite. I have to drag him in. :rotfl2:
He does like music, and all types. But he has never watched AI, and I cannot imagine he ever will.
Personally I would scrap the whole music theme and go with talent. But then you have America's Got Talent, which I do not watch either.
