when i was younger i used to paint ceramic holiday villages with my mom, we would also paint little ceramic trees and wreaths. For christmas i would get one of those latchhook kits and would do those with my grandma. we also would buy plain sweatshirts and puff paint and decorate our own holiday sweaters, sooo much fun!

I make lots of keepsake ornaments with my kids at school. I don't do as much with my kids at home, but we do bake cookies and make reindeer chow! Last year my DH sat down with the kids and made homemade Christmas cards to send to family members. It was really sweet watching them do this activity with their daddy!:santa::love::santa:

We made stain glass ornaments one year. Which reminds me, I forgot to put them on my tree this year.....

Holiday specialty foods that I look forward to - fruit cake and eggnog. Would like to try the peppermint ice cream and pumpkin eggnog once.

I do not do crafts, but did them with the Salvation Army as a kid. No longer have the items though.

I really look forward to this time of year is anything Gingerbread. And Thanksgiving it's always pumpkin pie that I crave. I don't do crafts with the kids, simply because it seems that I never have enough time in the day to get everything I need to get done, especially this time of year. And since the malls are starting to get rather insane, try to hit them in the morning before the insanity hits.

We have "new" Christmas ornaments on our tree, dated 2009 and they are from our DGC!

Yes, I enjoy homemade things, especailly cookies!:thumbsup2

When our DSs were small, we often made "stained glass" ornaments that you bake to give to friends and relatives. We also made fruit baskets out of popsicle sticks to fill with fruit and bring to shut ins. I still have a "basket" and what it holds now is "junk.":lmao:

yes, i definitely enjoy homemade things. i'm partial to cookies, bars and brownies :)

If you were to pick five small items to be in your Christmas stocking, what would they be?

Do you enjoy receiving homemade goodies from family, and friends for the holidays?

Um i am the one in the family who gives to the others.

Sugar free double bubble gum
Peppermint sticks
Peanut M&Ms
WalMart gift card

5 small items ... I think I'd pick a kit kat, cinnamon candies of some sort, sour patch kids, a twix, and that's really all I can think of. My dh does an awesome job filling up my stocking, so really I should just whatever he wants to put in there! You'd think one of these years I'd learn to stuff a stocking as well as he does, but he's still better at it year after year!

pony tail holders,
sugar free chocolate,
mandarine oranges
K cups for my Keurig coffee machine
and a partridge in a pear tree (just kidding!)

5 Small Items -

Barnes and Noble gift card
Softlips lip balm
Polar Ice gum
maple sugar candy
a Harry Potter ornament

It is fun reading what everyone would like to receive in their stockings. Here are my answers-

*Starbucks gift card
*Glue Dots
*Pop up Dots
*Jamba Juice gift card
*Blank cards, and envelopes for my card making.:santa:

Cocoa, hot cocoa, with or without marshmallows? Flavored or regular? With or without whipped cream? What type of cocoa do you prefer?

Plain old hot cocoa without marshmellows is my drink of choice but I'll do others.

Hot cocoa no flavors, no marshmallows. But i like it made with milk instead of water.
