I don't care who wins today. I just watch for the commercials! :happytv:

I like my high school colors, scarlett red and royal blue. My preferred mascot is my high school mascot, Apache. It was changed to Timberwolf in 1996 to be politically correct.

I do like red and black, emerald green and black, and navy blue and emerald green.

I do not care either. Not sure if we will even watch the game.

If I were to choose colors, I would pick something like dark purple and silver. As for the mascot, hmmmm not sure, maybe a grizzly bear.

Since Valentines Day is soon approaching, lets talk about roses.

What are your favorite color of roses?

I like girly color combinations, like hot pink and gold or lilac and silver. I would also like scarlet and gold like Gryffindor :) My mascot would probably be something like the Unicorns hahaha

I suppose I'll root for Green Bay because I'm closer to GB than Pittsburgh. But I don't care either way.

My favorite color of roses are yellow, white and lavender.

I like any color rose, but if i had to pick just one color - pink.

However i saw a picture of tie dyed roses, and they are cool. http://media.photobucket.com/image/tie+dye+roses+/taylrqt/Random/tiedyeflowers.jpg

Those are amazing!! I want!

I don't really care who wins.... btw Packers won.... lol

I like peach roses and yellow and green ones.... weird, I know. But I like them! :goodvibes

Dark pink or dark peach roses are my favorites following closely by dark yellow with tints of pink.

Those roses are neat in color.

I like all different colors, and am not usually fond of the color green, but like the light green roses as well.

If you were to cook your DH or SO a nice romantic meal, what would you make as the main dish, side, and dessert?

my boyf loves flank steak, and theres a special marinade his friend's dad makes with shallots, mustard, vinegar and some other stuff, so I would try the recipe for that, with some mashed potatoes on the side and tiramisu or something with fruit for the dessert.

My husband likes steak as well, so we would grill steaks, shrimp, and eggplant. Then for dessert he likes boston cream pie or something like such.

Grill a t-bone steak, serve with sauteed mushrooms.

To give a better back massage.

How to cook more elaborate things than hamburger helper haha

How to dance

How to sew/knit/crochet

Pies-are you good at making them? Do you have a special recipe to share? What are your favorite types of pies?

And cupcakes-do you make them? From a box, from scratch? What is your favorite type of cupcake, and frosting? Have any recipes to share?

The only pie i make is pumpkin, canned not fresh. As for cupcakes the only kind i make is black bottom.

Ingredients:

8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
2-1/2 cups sugar
Salt
1 large egg yolk
6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
2-1/4 cups flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup plus 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1-1/2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
-1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°. Line two 12-cup muffin pans with paper or foil baking cups. Using an electric mixer, combine the cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Add the egg and mix well. Fold in the chocolate chips and set aside.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, the remaining 1-1/2 cups sugar, 3/4 teaspoon salt, the baking soda and cocoa powder. Add 1-1/2 cups water, the oil, vinegar and vanilla and stir until smooth.

3. Fill each baking cup two-thirds full with the cake batter and top with 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture. Bake until the edges are firm to the touch, about 25 minutes.

Whoopie Pie (not sure why they are called pies, as its really just a cake)

For cakes

* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1/2 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
* 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup well-shaken buttermilk
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
* 1 cup packed brown sugar
* 1 large egg

For filling

* 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
* 1 1/4 cups confectioners sugar
* 2 cups marshmallow cream such as Marshmallow Fluff
* 1 teaspoon vanilla

Make cakes:
Preheat oven to 350°F.

Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a bowl until combined. Stir together buttermilk and vanilla in a small bowl.

Beat together butter and brown sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer at medium-high speed until pale and fluffy, about 3 minutes in a standing mixer or 5 minutes with a handheld, then add egg, beating until combined well. Reduce speed to low and alternately mix in flour mixture and buttermilk in batches, beginning and ending with flour, scraping down side of bowl occasionally, and mixing until smooth.

Spoon 1/4-cup mounds of batter about 2 inches apart onto 2 buttered large baking sheets. Bake in upper and lower thirds of oven, switching position of sheets halfway through baking, until tops are puffed and cakes spring back when touched, 11 to 13 minutes. Transfer with a metal spatula to a rack to cool completely.

Make filling:
Beat together butter, confectioners sugar, marshmallow, and vanilla in a bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until smooth, about 3 minutes.

Assemble pies:
Spread a rounded tablespoon filling on flat sides of half of cakes and top with remaining cakes.

Cooks' notes:

• Cakes can be made 3 days ahead and kept, layered between sheets of wax paper, in an airtight container at room temperature.

• Filling can be made 4 hours ahead and kept, covered, at room temperature.

I've never made a pie, I don't really have a desire to try any time soon either haha. I love fruit pies, but not apple. Cherry, peach and blueberry are my favorite, I also like strawberry-rhubarb.

Cupcakes I just make from a box, I like vanilla the best. I like to make the frosting different colors with food coloring for whatever I'm making them for.

I was the same about making a pie. Especially since I am not a crust person, and prefer store bought pumpkin pie.... but I tried making my own pie, and I like it. I don't like crunchy apples for my apple pie so I use the canned filling, but it is yummy. And knowing that I made a pie, and never thought of ever making one before made me proud of myself. :goodvibes

Thank you Heidi for the recipes.

I found a cream cheese recipe online last night, and I am going to try it. If it works, I will make cupcakes for my daughter's tennis mates, and parents. I found these cute pink nonperials that would look cute on the cupcakes.
