You welcome Patsy, hope you like them.

I should say the reason i don't make pies is because my sister works for a restaurant doing the baking. (I used to work with her, so made pies then).

If I were to make a romantic dinner for Joe, I'd either do spaghetti pie with bread and a salad and cherry pie for dessert or a ribeye with a baked potato and salad with a cherry pie.

A new skill would be to speak Spanish.

I make a decent pie when I want to which is not very often. I don't make my own pie crusts, I have never been inclined to try. I have a good pecan pie recipe but I haven't made it in a couple of years. I am going to attempt a banana split pie sometime soon.

We are going to our friend's house tonight since it is her son's birthday. He is maybe 23 or 24, not really sure. So tomorrows QOTD is-

If you were to get a gift for a guy who is in his lower 20s, what would you get him?

I'd probably go the gift card route--at our grocery stores and places like CVS and Walgreens, you can get a gift card to just about every place imaginable. For a guy in his early 20s, I'd most likely get a Best Buy gc (or another electronics store).

From the restaurants in your area, is there one particular restaurant, or several restaurants that have great meal deals, specials.....? If so, what type of deal is it?

I live in a semi remote area and the few restaurants are noting fancy. We don't eat out a lot so not sure if there are any kind of deals, but i am thinking not.

Most of the restaurants around have lunch menus which are nice. Cotton Patch has their chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken for $5 on Monday nights. On The Border currently has all you can eat enchiladas for $7.99. Several restaurants have an appetizer with two entrees for $20/$25. And one of them, don't remember who has the same kind of deal but you can get either an appetizer or a dessert with two entrees for $25.

We don't go out to eat all that often. Most of those deals I see on tv. We have gone to Cotton Patch on Monday night though. Their food is pretty good.

Our fav restaurant is in Kitsilano around a 25 min drive from here depending on traffic. We get a large bowl for 10.95, which is cheap for this type of meal. The name is MONGO's, and go there when we have a craving for Mongolian food. We also love the Chinese food places in Yoahan Centre, which is than a mile from us. If we go for Chinese there around 7:30pm onwards we can get a good feast for around $25.00CDN.

Kirby is the deal that you are not able to remember AppleBees or Chilis? It was either one of them that shows their commercial here, but we do not have it on this island.

No real deals here, unless there are for maybe like Outback.

Spring is approaching here. I was able to spend a nice cool late afternoon outside in my garden while my kids were out playing. I like the times that I am not all hot, and sweaty, there are not many bugs outside, and the kids can just play, and we can have a nice later dinner.

So with that said, today's QOTD is....oh, and I am going to open the Easter Exchange if anyone is interested in joining us for it.

Now, the QOTD is-
What sort of things do you enjoy about Spring, and how do you know that Spring is coming to your area? Ex. Plants starting to pop up from the ground.

I wish spring was on the way. (sigh)

Can usually tell when the snow is finally gone and all the birds return.

Patsy, it is Appleby's or Chilis.

What do I like about Spring? The new buds on the trees, flowers beginning to bloom, green starting to show up in the brown. The warmer breezes, the sun feels different. In fact, the air feels different. Just a joyous time of year, different than the joy of Christmas. A new beginning type of feeling.

Here is tomorrows QOTD early.
