Cool candy's in jars-
* The spiral lollipops that are multi-colored
* jelly belly jelly beans
* candy necklaces
* the hard candies in the pretty wrappers- just for color... most kids don't actually like them, but they are cheap and pretty! Like butterscotch and the red peppermints and green ones. Nice colorful fillers.
* Skittles
* Wax lips!
* mini candy bars
*candy buttons

Games-
*Have a candy walk! Like a cake walk with music, but whoever wins by landing on the right number- wins a bag of candy! (I would make small goody bags or let them pick their fav from a table)
* Jelly beans in a jar- guess how many! Winner gets to take home the jar.
* Bingo, but instead of "BINGO", play "CANDY" or "SWEET" and they get candy markers to mark their numbers. For prizes you could even do the candy scented lip balms and candy colored nail polishes for the girls and cool PEZ dispensers for the boys.
* Have a pinata- you could even make your own and design it to be her fav type of candy, or to make it easy- an M&M. :thumbsup2

And you should print your own candy bar labels with her name on them to give out at the end or even use as an invitation! That would be super cute. :goodvibes

M&M's
Skittles
Tootsie Rolls
Sour Patch
Laffy Taffy
Ring Pops
Jelly Beans
Pixie Sticks

Maybe play 4 Square, Hot Potato or make a craft of some sort. Maybe find a treasure using clues.

I like the Laffy Taffy and ring pops!!! Ohhhh and pixie sticks!!

And really like the treasure hunt idea- give them a map and clues and make them find the buried treasure (more candy!!) :rotfl:

Neat ideas, and suggestions. I had the same ideas for candies, and such written down as well. Everything here is pricier, and I can see the price of candies adding up. Also, I will have regular foods, and other desserts, and such. The kids parents will LOVE ME :lmao:!

Never thought of the cake walk idea, and I remember they used to do this during Fun Days during elementary school, but never paid attention to how it works. Does anyone know?

With Chinese New Year being next month, if you were to try two new Chinese dishes, what would they be? And, what are your favorites?

For the cake walk, you have a large circle with numbers placed around the circle for the kids to stand on. Then start some music and the kids will walk around the circle. Stop the music and they stop on a number. Have all the numbers on paper in a container and draw one. The person on the number you drew wins a prize.

My favorite thing to eat at our local Chinese restaurant is Chicken & Broccoli on fried rice. I usually eat there at lunch so I get an egg roll and Won Ton soup included with the meal.

What would I try? Hmmmm, I would have to see what was on their menu. Nothing spicy, can't do that anymore.

I live in the biggest Chinatown in North America, and the family is always trying wierd and wacky authentic Chinese dishes (but not to the extreme of the tiny fish deep fried EWW!). We usually do Chinese take out at one of the Chinese malls really close to us. My fav but forbidden dishes are: Honey Garlic Spareribs, Dry Garlic Spareribs, and Deep Fried Prawns. My Fav veggie dishes are: Gylan (Japanese broccolli) with bean curd, and any veggie dish.

My favorite chinese dishes are veggie or chicken eggrolls, Generals or orange crispy chicken, won ton soup and lo mein noodles. If I were to try 2 new foods I would try cashew chicken and sweet and sour chicken. I see a chicken trend going on here haha!

Thank you for the instructions for the cake walk Susan.

My favorite Chinese dishes are mongolian beef-spicy, chow mein noodles, bejing beef.....

If I were to try two new dishes. Hmmm, my friend gave me a recipe for Chinese style sesame chicken, so I am going to try that, and would like to try a fish type recipe.

Our entire family :love: Chinese food.

Not sure if all of you here are familiar with the Pen Pal Letter Swaps that I host, but each month we have a different twist. It can be things like-make or buy a card for a particular holiday, to send something edible from your state, send something in a certain money value..... I have this rounds twist set, and a few already for the next round if that happens. But, I was wondering, if you were to pick out three different twist, what would you suggest?

Since you have both men and women in the exchange its kind of hard, I would like to get keychains or bookmarks because I collect those, but not sure how much anyone else would like them. Maybe a fun pen?

Maybe they could take their camera out for the day and document their city in Pics, then print them off on paper to send their penpal. I'm heading to the mouse later today, so I'm signing off until I get back in 2 weeks. Have a great couple of weeks everyone!

Trish

Trish's idea sounds interesting.

A magnet that represents your state or a coffee mug.

I am trying to change things up for each exchange, except for the item from your state or country. And we had done the pen one last time.

I have that one covered a bit for Marchs twist ;). But I am not able to reveal it yet.

A magnet is an idea. I think we will pass on the coffee mug since it is harder, and pricier to ship.

Thank you everyone for your ideas. :flower3:

Answering questions are always fun to do too. Maybe a list of questions about where you live, either your actual property of the city you live in.
