Can anyone see into the future and predict what's happening with the exchange rate? ;)

Looks like it has crept back down again from a week or two ago.

Travelex are currently offering a disappointing $1.768 to the £

Richard.

:( I know Richard, i've been keeping an eye on the rates as well, it's not looking too good at the mo:( We were hopeing it would come back up before we go back to the land of the mouse ::MickeyMo but it's not looking very hopeful is it? Never mind we still have some time left so we'll just have to keep an eye on the rates for a while longer.;)

Wish i could see into the future, but me crystal balls broken at the mo:rolleyes: Typical! he he;)

Luv Audrey,
xxxxxxxxxx:D

I know, we have been watching it also.
Its crept down now, I really hope it creeps back up for when we go :o

Fingers crossed although I've got a few monthes to go yet.

Maybe, we could post the rates here every few days and where they're from, so that everyone who can't check them everyday can still keep watch and we can all keep an eye on where the best rates are to be had?

Anyway, Barclays was 1.76 today.
:)

Hiya

Had a quick look round on the net this morning and this is what i have found on todays rates. Virgin is the best.

Were not going till speptember but the rate two weeks ago was $1.79 at our bank (lloyds) we just changed £100 for us and emptied DD money bank and she had a shocking £84 so we changed that too for her to take. Were also keeping an eye on it to see if its gonna go back up.

Travelex $1.768
NatWest $1.730
Postoffice $1.742
Lloyds TSB $1.743
Virgin Travel $1.794:Pinkbounc
Co-op Travel $1.726

RE: Virgin Rates

I don't think that the Vigin rate quoted ($1.794) by Shellbell is a offer to sell but is a mid price rate. When I looked on the Virgin Travel web site, there were no details of how to buy $'s and the rate for $ to £ worked out the same as £ to $.

If I'm wrong (and I hope I am) someone might tell me how to buy at this rate.

However I believe that Travelex's online rate is still the best available and is commission free.

Regarding what will happen to the rates in the future, with the budget imminent, I think Gordon Brown is the best person to ask.
