Travellers cheques are a safe way to keep it.
Do they take traveller's cheques as payment upon check in at the front desk at Disney resorts?
Yes they take traveller's cheques at the resorts. I always take traveller's cheques to put on my room at check in instead of a credit card or cash. I found almost everywhere takes traveller's cheques.

They do take traveller's cheques, just be careful if you want to charge to your room, make sure you pay with your traveller's cheques the night before you check out. The last time we went we tried to pay with traveller's cheques and told them we would do so when we checked in. Unfortunately when we went to check out they had already charged my visa (i had it set up to be able to make charges with our room key). I tried to get them to reverse it so I could use my traveller's cheques but unfortunately they did a return which meant a different exchange rate and I lost about $40.00, I was so upset when we got home that I had to pay a double exchange rate-- one with Visa and the one I had paid with my traveller's chequesso just be careful, pay the night before you go!!! Have a great Trip!!!
You can definitely use TCs to pay the balance of a room-only reservation upon check in. coconutsunshine was talking about giving them a credit card upon check in to allow charging to the room. If you go to the front desk the evening before you check out you can pay the amount off with TCs instead of having them charge it to your CC. Instead of a CC Reese gives the resort to act as a deposit to allow room charging.I'm confused... you can't pay off the room completely with TCs right at the beginning??
