Excel Holiday Homes? Any experiences?

My mom emailed me this morning about DoOrlando.com and an ad for $99/day rental pool homes thru Excel Holiday Homes.

I haven't been able to find any info or reviews about this company...and...well...I don't want to get duped! Does anyone have any experience with renting pool homes in the areas surrounding Orlando? Anyone specifically heard of or dealt with Excel Vacations, Inc?

I've had my heart set on staying onsite, but I want to respect my mom and at least look into her thing....

I'd appreciate any input if you have it!

Lauren...HMMMM, could not find any such company on a search. I have been on these boards a long time and also been around the
Disney housing rental market for years and this name does not ring a bell....If you look at the other posts on this page and see the deals from "direct from owner" sites like www.fabvillas.com www.vrbo.com www.vacationrentals.com it is hard not go with owners direct.

If you want to check out Excel, get a phone number, call them, and ask if you get to see the EXACT home you are getting, which housing development it is in, and how much are the extras (tax, pool heat, cleaning) If they say we just get you a house and we will tell you where it is when we get here, IMHO, that is now a reason to consider looking elsewhere...8 years ago this was a standard response, but now there is no reason you cannot see the home complete with pictures, and detailed information right on the internet.

Look at the posts on this page about "help" and "too good to be true" Also older posts on previous pages have lots of info and web sites for "by owner."

Mom has done a nice job of starting a discussion of rental homes, but now you have some more fun things to check out together...

I have to say I have not heard of them either. However, there are plenty of rental homes to pick from. So, I'd do my research on them vs. other homes and go from there.

Hi...looks like Jannyans did a great job of finding the site...There are parts of it "underconstruction" which may be the result of it being a very new site...There are over 100 sites that will rent you a home at Disney...so it does seem overwhelming at times
