OK, this is a tough one,but I think you already answered it above. It goes back about two years ago. I made a reservation for my home resort, AKV at about the 11 mo mark, for a 1 BR savanna view at Kidani. I checked in early on line as soon as I was able. I didn't have any preferences. We arrived at the resort about 11 am. We were told that our room was not ready, which is fine. When we were checking in, we were also told that there were other rooms that were available. My husband said no, we would wait for the original room, thinking that the original room would be better in some way. We were given a 1BR on the fourth floor facing Pembe savanna. The tree growth totally blocked view of the animals. To make matters even worse, I later found out that the room adjacent to ours was a "standard" view. I don't understand the thought process that justifies placing loyal, longterm repeat customers in a room that is, quite frankly, subpar. Yes, I know that the resort is totally booked, and that somebody has to stay in the suboptimal rooms. But, guests should be assigned the best view available that satifies the criteria of their reservation at the time they check in. Not only did the room have a bad view, the water was connected incorrectly in the laundry, so, if selected cold water wash, it was hot, and everything was rinsed in hot. There were lots of other small issues with the room. Oh, and the most irritating part of the situation was that the animals were taken in between about 6 am and 9 am, so, we never got to see them when we were sitting on our balcony. From our room, we could see them peeking out of the enclosure behind Pembe savanna. One day, we got to watch them mow the savanna, and almost every day we got to enjoy poop rounds. Of course, I complained, but only got the stock response.
