So I got on the scale today!!!! EEEKKKKK!!!! Its not looking good ladies!! My 2nd son was born 14 mo ago and I vowed to lose the wt after the first year was over! Well I dropped 25lbs over night then just stopped. WTH!!!! I have 25lbs left to lose! What to do What to do!! I work over nights at a hospital and on my days off I have my little boy. So I am finding it very hard to excercise (hes a MAJOR mommas boy, not that I mind:goodvibes) and I feel like I am always snacking because Im on the run at all times! I love my boys and my hubby sooo much that I am always doing for them but have forgotten to do for me! Any busy moms have any suggestions? Or any tips that work for them? Anyone tried any mommy and me work out videos? I was also thinking wii active might help? Anyone try wii active or wii fit? thanks you fellow mommies in advance!!!!!!!!

You can always (weather premitting) get outside and walk/run. That is how I started. Working out at home never seemed to go well-I was always interupted! I finally joined a gym with childcare. The kids liked going, but it sounds like you might have trouble depending on how big of a momma's boy he is! Good luck!

I almost joined a new gym by my house that has child care but then he started crying whenever I leave the house even when my DH is with him. Im afraid of losing money if he throws a fit everytime I leave him there. I love taking him for walks but it has seemed to stop working:confused3. Thank you so much for the advice!!!! I hate my fat butt after baby number two!! Bounced back after my first son not really sure why im stuck this time!!!

We have the Wii Fit. I was losing weight on it until I found out I am pregnant. :rotfl: I am due here in a few weeks and the Fit is my weight loss plan. I know I can do it with her in the house and it doesn't take long. Plus it is fun! I really want the new Fit Plus so I can customize my workout and change things up a bit. The hula hoop is a ton of fun but after a few minutes you are exhausted! It also has yoga and strength training. Good luck with your weight loss.

Embrace the weight, buy the mom jeans and go with it. :thumbsup2

Tough. He'll stop crying. He needs to get used to his dad.

I hate my entire body after having kids, so I know what you mean.

The last 20 lb's. are the WORST!!! Your baby is 14 months? Gee, mine is 17.....years and I'm still battling those pesky pounds!!! If any of these methods work for you please let me know so I can try it :goodvibes

Perhaps it's the snacking that is holding you back. For me, losing weight means being mindful of what I eat. Good luck!

I'm not one to really endorse a diet, but I have been following the South Beach Phase 1 with a bit of phase 2 thrown in to give me a bit more variety since late July. I feel like the pounds are just melting off--after talking to the doctor and preparing for a lap band consult--the docotor I picked makes you do all the stuff before he will meet you--psych, nutritionist, etc. so I just started following it to get the pantry made over properly, etc. I have dropped six pants sizes so far--I still have a bunch to lose and finally have my lap band consult in two weeks, but I cannot believe how much I have lost when everything before that has been a huge failure for me. What I like best is that the weight seems to melt from the problem areas first--so belly and butt in my case.
I would buy the paperback for about $8.00 and give it a try. My first impression was no way I can do this phase 1 for 2 whole weeks, but I will try it for three days--three days came and went and two weeks easily flew by. I still do not feel like I am on a diet, the food is excellent and I only hated one recipe (the meatloaf) and best of all the great meals only take about a half hour to prepare.
The only reason I shared the lap band stuff is because I was giving you my set up and reasons for trying it with no hope for it working--as a meal plan it really worked for me and now I am actually wondering if I will get the surgery!

Good luck....my son is 12, I still haven't lost it :rotfl2:

Are you still nursing? That can help some lose all the weight, but for others the prolactin just causes extra squish to hang on. Though in my own case (before I gained it all back), by the time DS was around 9 months old I only weighed 5 pounds more than pre-baby, some of me looked thinner than pre-baby, but the parts I mainly saw (chest, upper back, arms) were heavier in appearance. That really messed with my mind and allowed me to gain it ALL back.

Kudos to you for not wanting baby to cry or for dad to deal with that! Nothing can make a man feel useless than a crying baby who needs mama. Babies have their own needs, and as it seems you've figured out, it's best to meet needs. As they say, meet their needs as they have them, and they won't need to re-find those needs later on! Or something like that.

Walks with the Ergo (back carry) were nice until DS got so long in the leg that he was kicking my knees, LOL.

Definitely stop the snacking. Working nights at a hospital sounds like you're a nurse? So many of the nurses I've known are drastically heavy b/c all they do is snack all shift long. My stepmom, NICU nurse, is one of the few thin nurses I've specifically known, and that's just b/c it's her nature (she's also 5'11", sigh). Even if you don't stop snacking, start writing it all down so you KNOW how much you're eating. IN fact, Weight Watchers is very helpful, and I highly recommend it. See if you can find a kid-friendly meeting, or at least a kid-friendly leader, and attend. Or see if your hospital has an at-work program.

Good luck!

Try the "Walk Away the Pounds" DVD's, by Leslie Sansone.

I have the 1, 2, 3 and 4 mile work-outs, plus a couple of others. She has a lot of different ones out and you can do them in the privacy of your own home, in your own living room. And you don't need a lot of room to do them, but you do get a good workout.

I really like them and that's what I use during the winter when it's too nasty to get outside and walk.

My DD has a 4-year-old DS and a 9-month-old DD and she does them too. They really helped her to take off the extra "baby weight."

WOW Thats awesome! are the meals low maintence? Congrats to you!!!:goodvibes

Thank you soooo much for all of the great ideas! Its soo tough to get motivated since I am always sleepy due to my overnight shift. I find myself snacking on carbs and sugar to sustain some form of fake energy. Im low on time due to the kids activities. I think I wanna try WT watchers or south beach with some Wii with my 7 yr old and some mommy and me dvds with my little guy. :confused3 I hope it works!!! So tired of my big booty!!!

I find them no issue to make at all. Let's see here are a few favorites:

Couscous salad--1 box near east couscous (I use olive oil and garlic) one clove garlic, squeeze of lemon juice, can of garbanzo beans, tomato and onion and basil. Mix and enjoy!

Grilled prok chops--4 pork cops well trimmed, 1 tablespoon of lite soy sauce, 2 cloves garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, sprinkle both side of pork with soy and spices. Broil about 7 minutes on each side.

Chicken and Broccoli Dijon-- 4 cups broccoli sauteed in 2 tbsp olice oil an dtwo cloves of crushed garlic. Remove broccoli to another dish-saute aone pound of chiken cut in bite sized pieces in same pan with 1/2 cup chicken broth and 2 tbsp lite soy sauce. Once chiken is cooked through add 2 tbsp dijon mustard and stir, add broccoli and mix then serve.

Rounded out with salad, other hot veggies and finished off with a fat free/sugar free chocolate pudding, or 4 chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert and yum!
