I am so sorry to hear about the family who suffered that horrible accident, SG. I hate hearing about things like those - you never think that something like that could happen to someone you know, and it's so sad to hear when it does. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and with the people of your community who are so affected by this tragedy.

Thanks again for your kind words - I agree - my father is an amazing person to do all that he does for my mother. And it's not just for her - even though he is limited by what he can do now (as he rarely even leaves the house any more), he still helps my uncle with his finances (ie: running to the bank to roll over his CD's, etc.) and he used to help me all the time, too (waiting for the plumber or electrician or other such person to come to my house and do whatever he had to do, while I was at work. etc.). I think it really gives him great pleasure to help people. I just feel badly that he doesn't allow himself to have any sort of "life".

And I agree with you, Helenabear - it is wonderful to be able to come into the Suite and relax and get away from the trials and tribulations of every day life! It's so nice to speak to all of you and to learn about all of your lives, experiences, and daily happenings!

Great to see you, Jstmee! I'm sure that everything will settle down a bit, once the school year really gets underway and the children get back into the "swing of things"! Hang in there and enjoy this exciting time!

I like the idea of the bubble over the parks......as long as it does not affect the various fireworks shows! We have to have Fantasy in the Sky, Fantasmic, and Reflections of Earth! It would be great if the parks were somehow climate controlled - walking around in the 90+ heat in June was a killer! (but I wouldn't have traded it for anything!)

Well, time to get ready for work! In the mean time, I will dream of going to visit the Muppets and sitting up in the balcony with Statler and Waldorf!

By the way, is anyone else but me petrified to go into Honey, I Shrunk the Audience????

Have a great day, Everyone! :)

Rider, I know what you mean by Honey, I Shrunk the Audience although you might be frightened by a different part than I am. The snakes bother my DH but the mice terrify me. I remember the first time I went to it (last also). I could tell the mice were coming next so I managed to throw my legs up the back of the seat in front of me. Now, that might not be a big deal to you younger ladies but for me it was a truly amazing feat.

Your dad might be very happy doing what he does. There are wonderful people like that. They just have to be useful. I like to do things for people BUT I also treasure my alone ME time. Haven't had any since DH retired but I do remember it with fondness. If he does not complain there is a good chance that he is happy. I have a sister who does the tiniest, least little thing and by the time she gets done bragging, complaining and carrying on you would have thought she had saved the world. She complains about taking care of her grandkids and she does not do that too very often IMHO. I think she should just not do it if she feels that way. Don't think that grandmas HAVE to take care of the grands if they don't want to, I just love doing it.

I just knew you would know the names of the 2 grumpy men in the balcony. I am awful at remembering names and such. Thank you for the info even tho I will forget it by the end of the day. TA moments.

Just how much are you ladies willing to pay, extra, for climate controlled parks? I think I would gladly pay $20 more a day per ticket. Being a cheap sort of person myself, others might be willing to part with much more. I am curious just how much? How much for a ride on a moving sidewalk to take you from the park to the buses or your car? Heck, Disney could let us in the park for free and make money just on these options and other ideas alone.

Hello!

The reason I know the names of the 2 grumpy Muppet hecklers is because I was a big fan of the Muppet Show! I just love those Muppets! And no matter how many times I see Muppetvision 3D at the Studios, I still laugh at the same parts - I think it's adorable! I even videotaped it - I taped the movie! My favorite part is when Kermit asks Sam Eagle if he has the finale prepared and Sam says "yes, it's a glorious 3 hour finale"....and Kermit says "you've got a minute and a half!"! I am totally petrified to go into Honey, I Shrunk the Audience because of what I have heard about the mice and the snake. I think that the mice would bother me more than the snake, as well. For some reason, I am very sensitive to those experiences where you are surrounded by sensations - that's why I refuse to go into the Alien Encounter at the MK. I survived It's Tough to Be a Bug....barely. I was sitting at the end of a row of seats, and I spent the entire time curled into a fetal position and covering myself 'cause I was afraid of getting "freaked out" by things touching me! The noises that the blasts of air made were probably the most disturbing thing in there - I hate loud, unexpected noises. I didn't mind the bugs on the seats at the end, though - I thought that that was a cute touch! As much as I love Rick Moranis and those "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" movies, I just don't think that I would be able to handle the mice and snake in that attraction! I'm also afraid to go on Dinosaur, for the same reason. I guess I am just a wimp! Perhaps Helenabear can use her powers of persuasion to convince me to ride / experience some of these attractions on my next trip to WDW!

Hmmm....let's see - I would pay an extra $20 a ticket for climate control, as well. I don't think that I could foresee paying more than that - since admission is so expensive as it is! I would pay for climate control before I would pay for moving sidewalks - I actually enjoy walking around the parks - great exercise - and taking things at my own pace. It's just so uncomfortable to do that in the heat. So I would definitely pay for the climate control, first! I think that one of the greatest inventions in the world are those water straps that you can buy in the parks. They make great souvenirs and using one makes carrying a bottle of water around so much easier! Since there is no real climate control, I'm really happy that those straps exist!

Sorry that this is so short - back to work! Will check in again soon! :)

Dear Rider (and any lurkers:)

I got a chuckle out of your apology for being so 'short'. I think you and I are alike in that we are very verbose and anything less than a few pages is 'short'. LOL

I think you are a fan of a lot of the attractions. I love your enthusiasm. It is interesting that you are not crazy about some of the tamer rides. Do you ride roller coasters and such? I do not do them. I am terrified of anything new. I love the video site where I can experience the ride and decide if it is for me. I have no sense of balance so even small dips like in the Mexico ride unnerve me. Please let me know which rides you are afraid to try. I may have been on some and will fill you in on the details, if I remember them all. LOL That is the big attraction for me at DW, that and the on site transportation (night blind). I do not get much out of most amusement parks since they are heavy on thrill and not much on atmosphere but I love Disney. I see it tilting a bit away from my kind of rides though.

I don't carry much of anything around with me as I have trouble enough just carrying myself around. I have a purse on a string thing that I put the barest necessities in for vacations. I won't carry water cause if I did I would have to go the restroom all the time and since the water is by the restrooms I just combine the two. Just wait until you all catch up with me in age. Don't know if I have ever told you my age. It is an ancient 53!!! LOL Well, you are only as old as you feel and somedays I feel like a hundred.

I got all the interiors of my old cabinets painted last night. The next project will be punched tin panels for the built in cabinet panels. Just the old ones, not the new ones. Got to have a bit of character in a home, all new can be sooooo boring.

Have company coming this weekend so it is giving me an incentive to work a bit harder. Thank you for the kind words about the family tragedy here. It could have been my DD and family just as easily. It was only about 3 miles from here. My heart goes out to the families involved. The 18 year old girl pulled out in front of the trash truck causing it to roll over on the small truck carrying the young mother, her step brother and 2 young children. They were in my grandson's class. I am going to write yet another letter to my DIL in hopes that they may come this weekend and things might work out somehow. Life is too short to go around hating people and if I can put up with her imperfections possibly she can find it in her heart to forgive mine? Lots of PD needed on this one.

BTW, I loved the bugs running under the butt thing at Bug's Life also. Just one of the many magic touches that Disney is so wonderful at. I think I will wander over that way and check out the Tree of Life and Bug's Life. A bit of BBQ under the trees sounds mighty nice also. I wonder how many creatures there are on the Tree? Anyone want to help me count?

Hi all! I'm here for lunch... hmmm I was thinking I would probably only pay for the climate control in the summer time. When we went in Oct. I couldn't have asked for better weather... but I'd probably pay $20 and no more since the ticket price would be way too much. There are times I could use that walkway as well... when you are tired and want to head back to the Poly... It'd be nice.

Slightly Goofy, I am so sorry to hear about the tragedy in your town. That is always sad when something liketh at happens.

I was not afraid of Honey I Shrunk the audience though... I will say if you put your legs just a little further out and you lean forward you don't feel much (same is true for ITTAB). Actually in the ITTAB, I hardly felt anything and I wasn't very impressed with that one. I go back and forth with which I love more HISTA or Muppets... they both have good strong points to each of them.

Luis is home today showing the apartment again although we are not sure if it is even available at this point or not. I guess I will find out around 1:30 if they don't show or not. This at least gives him something to do while at home. We just keep hoping that something comes up soon. He is having trouble getting one guy to call him back from a temp agency. This job would be great for him and he was supposed to hear back from the guy on Monday. I told Luis he should keep calling today until the guy answers back... and not to leave a message in the mean time. I think HOW RUDE. A temp agency should know that people need jobs and shouldn't wait so dang long to get back to them... okay I am done venting now... now all I need is a warm yummy lunch.... oh guys... get me some food please (they all turn and I get a good view of their rears ;)). Have a great day everyone :D

SlightlyGoofy - lots of pixie dust to you as you write your letter to your DIL - and lots of good luck! It's very nice of you to extend yourself to her, as you do. I hope that you receive a positive response very soon!

Of course I like the tamer rides - in fact, they are basically all that I will ride! (hee hee!) I was coerced into going on Space Mountain ONCE (never again - hee hee!), but aside from that, the most "adventurous" I get is Big Thunder Mountain, Star Tours, and Body Wars. I am way too afraid to try Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, Dinosaur, Alien Encounter (the list goes on and on!), and......Splash Mountain, though perhaps Helenabear has convinced me to try it! I am also afraid of HISTA, as I said. But I love things like Peter Pan's Flight, Snow White. Legend of the Lion King, and especially Carousel of Progress, the Country Bears, and the Tiki Room, not to mention my 3 big favorites, IASW, the Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean!

I'm sure that your cabinets look great, SG!

And I'm sure that Luis will hear back soon about that job (and hopefully many others), Helenabear! They really SHOULD have gotten back to him when they said that they would, but hopefully they will do so soon! Also, hopefully you will find out for sure about whether or not your apartment has been rented, soon!

If you don't mind, I will come and join you for lunch on the veranda (and a nice view of our gentlemens' butts - hee hee!)! I wonder what they will be serving, today?

Have a nice afternoon! :)

I thought we only got a great view from the guys.... if they have brought me food I guess I didn't notice ;)

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great day. Luis and I went for a nice long walk on the beach. We had a great time together and now he has left to go watch something on his TV. My baby Gwen has joined me however and is enjoying the nice view outside... she loves watching the ducks looking for food that everyone seems to leave them near the beach. She is just soo cute and cuddly I cannot believe that she is really mine :D There is nothing more relaxing than having a cute fuzzy sitting in my lap purring away...

Yep, Luis cannot stand being home. I don't blame him if he takes a part time or temp job just to keep busy while waiting for "the" job to come up. He is looking into consulting firms and that might be great too... he can go from one type to another... Of course all I care about is that he is happy. It seems like our apartment is rented. The person who is going to take it is Chinese or Japanese (I honestly couldn't tell... and it only matters because....) and since he has very little American credit he has to get a letter from his employer stating he works there and give the deposit and then the apartment is his. So it basically is a done deal and I am relieved... of course I will be more so once he signs.

Oh my Gwenie wanted to say hi to everyone. She tried to type it herself but didn't do such a good job.... but what can you expect, she's only a baby ;)

I think I am just going to sit and relax with a glass of lemonade now. I will keep you posted if anything comes up for Luis... and with all the jobs he has applied for, people will have to call more soon :D Have a great evening everyone... oh and Rider, don't spend tooo much money on the IASW clothes at JC Penney's :p

Ummm, wonder if our suite credit card is good at J.C. Penny? Would be great if it was. Have to watch it a bit as our investments are not generating quite as much money right now. I am sure glad that I locked in the 7.10% for the next two years. It will help a bit.

Now you younger ladies can watch all the behinds you want, I will look for a little more action, brain that is. I want a guy with the brains of Ben Stein, sense of humor of George Carlin, handyman skills of Bob Vila, Mel Gibson looks, laid back personality of James Garner and whose tastes run to fat and sassy women like moi!!!! Yeah, may be old but ain't dead yet. (grin)

Helena, did you bring Luis to the suite or did they build a beach in Columbus that I don't know about? Does he have your meal all ready when you get home from work and greet you with a kiss and a nice cool drink? My DS and BIL from Columbus are coming to see me in a few weeks. I have not gotten to spend much time with this BIL so I am looking forward to it.

Rider, I am too chicken to try most of the rides you ride. My DH got hurt on Star Tours once. The ride did not do him in. It was my fingernails in his arm. LOL Have no sense of balance and have trouble riding in a regular car without holding onto something. My rule is that if it requires a restraint it is not for me.

I could not get an accurate count on the animals on the TOL. They kept moving,or at least it felt that way.

It's evening and I'm ready for some rest and relaxation. SG all of my prayers, thoughts and PD go out to the friends and family of those people that have been effected by that terrible accident. These things happen and we all learn from them, it's unfortunate. Our town of 3,000 lost one teen girl last year in a car wreck and one teen girl this year from cancer. A few young father's were also brought back to their maker from cancer and heart disease.

Rider, no word lately on your poison ivey, I sure hope you got rid of that nasty stuff. I remember my mother would have it all over the place and it seemed to stay with her forever. I get migraines and take imitrex for them, they go away, thankfully in about 1/2 hour if I rest afterwards. Of course they come back and I suffer sometimes for 3-5 days with them. Cluster headaches sound horrible. I hope you are over them. Good luck with your CAT scan.

Elaine, put Luis to work cleaning, lol.... I am also praying for something for him to come through also. Keep your options open, something will come up and maybe it will be better than expected. A walk on the beach sounds wonderful. We had another warm day here, but I can tell summer is just about over. It gets rather cold in the evenings.

OKAY, now come on you gals, have you no sense of fun. Contrary to all of you scaredy cats, lol no pun intended. I love all, every and each ride there is....... the higher the better, the faster, the better, the scarier, the better. I went to Universal California and went on the ???Robo Cop?? something, show, so scary and realistic, 3D, poofs of smoke etc. Ah well, not everyone can have this much fun, heee heee. And to think I'm 40 also......... By the way SG, my best friend is 62 ---- and just a young chicken--- we go to the gym every other day together. Of course, we always go out to breakfast afterward, but at least we know we are in shape. hee hee Wow I was typing happy today, cya on the veranda, and I too will look at Bo's butt, my DH is in Ohio this week.

Oh my gosh, I've just hit 50 with this post. Unbelievable to me. I know i'm a newbie when I looked at your posts. I didn't think I'd even go over ten. Really had no reason to. But now with this wonderfull suite and this beautiful veranda and jacuzzi, I can relax and submit until my hearts content. Anyone for Beaches and Cream after Illuminations

Rider, I forgot to congratulate you on finding your wedding dress, lucky you!!! Check with a local dry cleaning, maybe you could store it there, not sure what the fee would be but might be worth it.
:bounce: :pinkbounc

Hi everyone, we just got back from another walk on the beach... yes we stopped in here together for a while (now he is watching WWF) and he thought the place was cool... he did ask why our room at the Poly wasn't as nice... I told him to hush :D Truly life is nice and calm and I have some reading I was going to get to and now that I am here "on my own" I think I will get it done. I hope you all have a wonderful evening :D

Remind me later to explain how tame some rides are if you can go on Body Wars or Star Tours. I have a not so happy neck & back so I judge a lot of things based on them. Like Space Mt... that one hurt me the last time. But if you can hack Body Wars & Star Tour Dinosaur is nothing :D See you all later and feel free to disturb my reading when the night lights up with colored lights :D

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all well this evening. I am so farbehind with everyone's posts that I figured I would catch up on the weekend (my parents are taking all three of our kids for the weekend). We are getting ready for back to school here (go back September 4th) so have been busy shopping and all that kind of stuff. It is so great to have somewhere to come and relax and just "hang out" with friends.

SG any news on the fab four?

IASW I hope you are feeling better now.

Helenabear any news on the job front for Luis?

Jstmee how are you doing today? I see that you hit 50 posts....Congrats!

Well I am going to go sit on this wonderful balcony that SG has had the guys make some wonderful adjustments to. Then I am going to have Bo bring me some dinner and I am just going to sit back and watch the world go by.

Yawn, stretch. Ah, another perfectly lovely day. I am not much of a morning person but there is something so special about waking up in our suite. You guys are so nice to be so quiet and allow me to wake up at my own pace. (sweet smile)

Helena, it was so nice of you to bring Luis to walk on the beach. He needs a bit of magic just riight now. How has he handled the 'scenery" around here, Bo, Don etc. (grin) I was wondering, could you tell me a bit about the "Dinosaur" ride? Not scared of dark, noise etc. but cannot handle even the smallest type dip. Do you have to be restrained? If so, why? I hate missing rides that I don't have to miss. When is your moving day?

Jstmee, congratulations on your 50th posting. I am so pleased that some of them have been here with us. You have a good idea about the wedding dress but I bet that Rider wants to keep it close by so she can sit and look at it often. I had a niece who shopped for a year and went to several large cities looking for her wedding dress. She ended up buying the first one she saw!!! It was a huge wedding and we all had a blast, even I was out on the floor getting down with my bad self. :smooth: You seem to be our resident dare devil. BTW My best friend is 84 and I had to threaten her to stop her from climbing a ladder a couple of weeks ago. She is a caution but we almost lost her the beginning of the year so I am watching over her a bit more nowadays.

I think I will wander out to the veranda to visit with Bashful and talk over today's plans and then Beaches and Cream tonight with Jstmee. I have a good feeling about today and what it will bring.

Slightly Goofy

Good morning to all. SG you are so right about waking up to a nice calm place, with a gentle breeze blowing on the veranda while I sip my cappucino. My DC are still sleeping and my DH is STILL in Ohio-Cincinatti so I have a few moments to enjoy the view.

bashful, glad you could make it back we've missed you. I'm sure Bo has room in his schedule to give you a nice back massage and maybe fix you a nice refreshing drink.

Anyone want to visit Fastasmic tonight, I haven't seen any evil villians get their tushes wooped lately--we might have a nice dinner somewhere first, any suggestions? jstmee

Hi Everyone!

Soooo happy that it's the weekend - this week totally knocked me out! We have been unbeliveably busy at the office (which is strange, since this is supposed to be our "slow season") and since there we are so understaffed, it's been extremely draining. But.....(please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me!) I think that my horrible headaches are gone for good! I haven't gotten one in almost a week, so I'm hoping that I've experienced the end of them, at least for awhile. And the remains of the healing poison ivy are almost gone from my arm, too. So, I won't be boring everyone with my silly "medical issues" any more! (hee hee!)

Frank has gone rafting with his sister and her friends, today. Since I am not really an "outdoorsy kinda girl", I'm going to go into NYC and visit my oldest and dearest friend, Gary, whom I've asked to be my "man of honor" at my wedding. We decided to do something a little different - instead of a bunch of bridesmaids and ushers, Frank's sister will be serving as his "best woman" and Gary will be my "man of honor"! Or at least I hope that he will be....when I first asked him, he said "yes", but now he's saying "I don't know", so I'm going to try to convince him when I see him today! What's the big deal? All he has to do is pose for pictures, stand next to me during the ceremony, and make a toast! He's very protective of me - sort of like a "big brother" - and never thinks that anyone is good enough for me. Even though he likes Frank, he "wants to make sure that I am doing the right thing" by marrying him (ie: religious and cultural differences, etc.).......I think that he just feels threatened that he and I won't be as close after Frank and I get married. (My ex-husband felt very threatened by Gary and made it very difficult for me to stay in touch with him as much as I had before marrying him, so I guess he's afraid that the same thing would happen with Frank.....which it wouldn't, because Frank isn't like that!). Anyway, I'm hoping to have a good conversation with him in person, today. I know that he likes to be "coddled" - he's very fussy that way - but I'm not going to beg him. If he really feels uncomfortable about "standing up for me" at my wedding, I will have my 4 oldest and closest girl friends share the "position" (since I wouldn't want to choose between them!). Anyway, I'm sure that it will be a nice day, regardless - it's sunny and not too hot, and it will be a great day to walk around in the city! Then Frank will come over later, to spend the rest of the weekend, once he has returned from the great waters of Pennsylvania!

Speaking of the wedding, if you'd like to see a picture of my wedding dress, here it is:

http://www.davidsbridal.com/TESTshow_dress.cfm?search=yes&style=2445

I also picked the first one I tried on, just like your niece, SG! It's still hanging on the back of my closet door in its garment bag......will have to transfer it to my parents' house, one of these days, for safekeeping - maybe over Rosh Hashana.

Belated congratulations on your 50th post, Jstmee! And thank you for your kind words!

Speaking of rides, SG, Jstmee, and Helenabear, my Imagineer / tech friend at WDW wrote me a big long tirade, a few days ago, about how I'm missing out on some of WDI's best work by refusing to go on ToT, and how R'n'R, Dinosaur, Test Track, and Splash Mountain aren't as scary as I think they are, etc. He then proceeded to offer me an additional speech on the safety of all WDW attractions! I know that I should trust the professional, but I'm still chicken! I'm sorry that your DH was hurt on Star Tours, SG. I'm not particularly thrilled with Star Tours and Body Wars, but I will ride them with Frank since I feel badly that I don't ride many of the other things which I know he'd like to try. I don't want to hold him back, but he refuses to go on, without me, even though I don't mind!

How are all of your grandchildren doing, SG? Did you ever write your letter to your DIL?

How are all the moving preparations going, Helenabear? Glad that your kitty cat could join us, for a bit - hopefully your other furry one will join us soon, too! One of my "furry foursome", The Big Ragoo, celebrated his 6th birthday, yesterday!

How was the first week of school and getting ready for the first week of school, for your children, Jstmee?

Lots of good luck to your children as they get ready to go back to school, Bashful64!

Hate to type and run, but I don't want to be late for my train! Hope that all is well with all of you! Take care and have a great weekend! And meet you all back in the Suite, later, so that we can decide where to have dinner and pick an "evening activity"! Any ideas? :)

Oh my Rider, what a lovely dress. It is simple, classy and with the bustier type top very sexy also, just the perfect wedding dress IMHO. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. The guys were seen checking it out and I have a feeling that you will be getting a bit extra attention in the days to come. Bo had tears in his eyes at the thought of you getting married and not being around as much. I told him you would never desert DIS and that your Frank was a fan of the Mouse also. He was greatly comforted.

I love your wedding plans being tailored around your personal preferences. That is what should be. I hope your friend Gary consents to be there as you wish him to be. How sweet to have someone who cares about what is the best for you. You have to be the final judge but it is wnderful to have such caring friends anyway. I am so glad that your medical problems have gone away. Makes you appreciate good health even more now.

My DH only got hurt on Body Wars because I grabbed his arm and accidentally dug my fingernails into him. LOL I was so scared that the safety belt would let go and I would go sailing out into the rest of the audience crushing them. I don't care how safe the rides are, and I do believe they are, I just have no sense of balance cause of a chronic ear disease and am not able to do rides that are too disorienting. I imagine that some thrill riders would love to have my condition as it would add to the thrill of the rides. I would gladly give it to them. (smile)

Jstmee and Bashful are enjoying a few quiet moments while their darling children go off to be edumacated (grin). How can you miss them if they never leave? A penpal from England tells me that they have vacacation clubs there where the kids go a couple of days a week during summer break. I think my house was the 'vacation club' when my kids were growing up. LOL

Jstmee, my brother is coming from Cincy tomorrow to have lunch with us. We only live about 80 miles from there. I will cast a wave in that direction toward your DH. My DB is bringing his family for the first time. He was missing for over 18 years so it is terribly special to see him. I have seen him several times since we found him (on the Int ernet) and we keep in touch with phone calls and emails. I saved the bill from our first phone call. It was over $25 and worth every penny. DD and family are coming for lunch also so there is a whole lot of cooking going on around here. I will bring some leftovers to the suite tomorrow. Sirloin steaks, Stuffed Manicotti and Chicken Fingers are the entrees. Very fussy family have I. Have to fix a variety to please everyone. I am fixing only enough for the people I know are coming. Figure if I fix enough to include DDIL and DS etc. I will jinx it. They would never call to say there were or were not coming anyway. They did not do that before either.

Today is my DD and DSIL's anniversary. The boys are to spend the evening with their other grandma. Hope she does not cancel out like she does so often. Hope she survives having the both of them at the same time. Sperately they are wondeful kids but together they are a dangerous combination. LOL

I will miss you all today as I have so much work to do here today but tomorrow evening I will be there begraggled and weary and looking for some serious pampering by "The Boys".

Slightly Goofy

I'm sorry I haven't popped in to check on you all, but this was the week from $#@! for me. Next week WILL be better! :)

IASW, your gown is so lovely!! So classy and has beautiful lines in it. I am all for having a non-traditional wedding too. I was "best man" at a friend's wedding. It was what he wanted and I had no problem with it. What is important is the union of you and Frank, not how anyone expects your wedding to be. I hope Gary agrees, but if not you certainly have a good group of friends to be there for you too by the sound of it.

Well just popped in, I love reading about all of your lives and just wanted to say I missed you all! :D

Have a wonderful weekend friends!
CC

Rider your gown is beautiful!!! I am sure you will look stunning in it! One suggestion I will have is not to leave it hanging. If you can wrap it in a nice cloth to help prevent dust from getting on it and you can let it lie on a shelf or in a big closet, that might work much better. That way the weight of the dress won't pull on it so that nothing gets stretched out of place. We made my dress (my cousin and I) mostly because I am short and the amount of money that would have gone into the dress would have been really expensive (about $250 for alterations alone). My cousin and I worked together to get a wonderful looking dress from the pattern that is similar to the one used to make the dress Kate Winslet wore in Titanic (the night she almost jumped ship). Lace was brought in from Puerto Rico (when family was there they picked lace based on what I loved and Fed Ex'd it to me and then I called back and told which I loved) and everything was hand picked and made... including my flowers. I hate being traditional so I had to pick my best friend Marc to be my Man of Honor :D Personal touches always make a wedding better in my eyes.

Well Luis likes it here and he doesn't mind the eye candy we have to look at. I go for much more than looks so that is why I picked my sweetie (yes I find him absolutely hansome, but there is so much more to him than looks). He loves it that we can come and go as we please... it makes the waiting for the next trip so much easier.

Dinosaur is an easy ride to go on. If you can handle a little jerking side to side (no worse than BTM or Body Wars) there are no true dips (a little bumpy up and down though... more like Pooh ;) ) then this ride is easy. My back can handle it w/o any problems at all and I rate it about the same level as the Safari ride honeslty (okay maybe right between the Safari ride & BTM). I personally do not like Body wars at all and this one is much better... no "restraints" from what I remember (similar to BTM).

Well Luis and I are heading out for the day. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend :D

Hi Everyone! :)

Thanks so much for all of your compliments - I'm glad that you like the dress! The opinions of my EWP Suite Mates and friends is very important to me! :) Yes, something about it just "called out to me" from the rack, so I had to try it on! Of course, it looks much better on the model in the photograph than it does on me, but…..!! Thank you for your advice about storing the dress, Elaine - that’s actually very similar advice to that which they gave me at the store! They suggested taking the dress out of its garment bag, wrapping it in a white sheet, putting it back into the garment bag, then hanging it that way or lying it down. They also suggested putting a white pillowcase over the veil and hanging the veil in the pillowcase on a hanger or with clothespins. Right now, the dress is still in its garment bag - when I move it to my parents' house, I will wrap it in the sheet. Maybe my parents have a place where I can lie the dress down - I will have to see! Your dress sounds beautiful, Elaine! You wouldn't happen to have any of your wedding pictures on line, would you??? And that's so amazing that you made it! It's even more special that way! I loved that dress from "Titanic", too - I'm sure that you looked wonderful!

And I'm glad to hear that you also had a "Man of Honor", Elaine (isn't Marc your friend who introduced you to Luis? I think I remember reading that on your web site!), and that you served as "Best (Wo)Man" at your friend's wedding, Cathy! I also like "non-traditional" sorts of things! My first wedding was very traditional, in that regard - I had several bridesmaids and my "ex" had several ushers, etc. But that meant that I didn't get to include my closest friend. So THIS time, I wanted to be sure that Gary was honored in some way, and I wanted him to be a special part of Frank and my celebration. Plus, it worked out well, because Frank has a sister with whom he is very close, so it seemed logical that she would serve as his "Best Woman". And Gary DID ultimately say that he would be my "Man of Honor" - we had a nice talk over lunch on Saturday, and he explained his reasons for wavering in greater detail (just that he wants what's best for me, wants to be sure that I'm doing what I think is right for me, etc. He also sort of admitted to a bit of "jealousy" / worrying that we would not be as close, etc.) I understand his feelings and why he wasn't sure to begin with…..but I'm glad that he definitely agreed to stand by me on that day!:) As you said, Linda and Cathy, I am very lucky to have such great friends in my life. Because I'm an only child, my closest friends have always been like extended family to me, and are extremely important in my life.

Oh - and Bo and the rest of the gentlemen needn't worry……Frank and I both plan to be spending a lot of time in the Suite after we're married! Can't get rid of us that easily (hee hee!) I keep trying to encourage Frank to come in and join us, now…..but I think that he's too shy! (Plus, he STILL hasn't figured out a good "DIS Name" for himself - hee hee!)

How was your visit with your brother and your daughter and the rest of your family, Linda? It's so nice that you have reunited with your brother and that you stay in touch regularly and get together! Happy anniversary to your daughter and son-in-law! And your menu sounded wonderful - I hope that there were some leftovers that we can sample…….!

Great to hear from you, Cathy! I'm sorry that you had a bad week, last week :( (mine was the same - YUCK!). Hopefully, this one will be much better for you! (and hopefully, it will go quickly!)

OK - one more question about "Dinosaur", Elaine - I understand that things (like dinosaurs, I guess!) pop out at you while you're riding through. Do they "pop out" in the same way that things do in "It’s Tough to be a Bug", etc.? I'm such a baby when it comes to being startled by things!:( I guess I'm less concerned with the "jerkiness" of that ride than I am with the "startling factor"! There aren't any big dips in there, are there? Have you been on Test Track? If so, what are your thoughts about that? And Maelstrom is pretty tame, isn't it? Just one dip? (am I imagining things, or did we already talk about Maelstrom?!)

Well, time to get back to work, here! Thanks so much again for your thoughtful and supportive words, everyone! And "hi" to Jstmee and Bashful64, out there! Have a great day! :)

Hi all! I hope everyone is enjoying their day. Okay I am trying to get over the fact that I still have four more days until the LONG weekend and we get our house :D

Lisa, I think you should have stand next to you who you think is comfortable. Marc just loved it and he didn't think twice about it... we have been friends for too long to even care. I went to his senior prom and we have always kept in touch. Actually he wasn't the one who introduced Luis and I. It was another friend Mike whom I actually went to high school with. And no I do not have pictures of our wedding online... maybe after we move I will take the time to scan them in (right now it is packed away). My cousin did an excellent job on the dress and the lace made such a beautiful chapel length train.

I did double check with Luis and he agreed there were no big scared in Dinosaur. I'd say the dinosaurs themselves were as scary as the ones in Universe of Energy. Honeslty if you don't mind a few bumps, this one is pretty cool! It is dark but it isn't bad. I get startled easily and I really liked that one a lot. I wasn't to fond of It's Tough... I hate eight legged creatures and I wasn't to fond of the bugs jumping out (but on the other hand HISTA wasn't so "jump out at ya" feel) so Dinosaur is pretty easy to handle. As for Test Track... if you drive on a highway it is about the same... although in a convertable (which I think is cool). There is a small jerk to it and they make you go through a fairly jerky/swervy course, but nothing scary to me at all. Nothing jumps out at you and at times it is bumpy but I think as long as you go in there knowing you will NOT crash, you will be fine. They warn you about which test will come up next so remember that the breaks test is the worst one and that you will be jerked around a little you will be fine. It is a good ride and I love the feel of the wind in my hair at 65 mph.

I do try to be perfectly honest on rides and I try to remember what people can handle and what they can't. But really I think if you can handle BTM the only ones that would be questionable are Space Mt., Body Wars & Star Tours, RnR, & TOT (I don't think I missed another questionable one).

Well we are prepping for the move, and we have most of our utilites set up. We just now have to notify the mail and our bank (along with a few others as well). Well I think I had better just sit back and relax now... I had a long day at work... and there seems to be no sign of relief  Oh well... I could use a little overtime right now :D

I hope everyone has a great evening :D
