Hi there Candlemaker, I am assuming that you are a relative of our dear Depply. Please do not worry, dear Depply is safe here and we have never had the idea that she comes from a mean family, quite the contrary. LOL She is such a wonderful addition to our little group and fits in so well in spite of being the youngest, to my oldest. LOL I raised two of my own and helped with raising many others and Depply has never given me a hint that she is a troubled youth of any kind. Lucky gal to have two families to love and watch after her and she has so many opportunities. I can tell that she knows it too. Just a bit of teen angst about feeling down that one day. We all go there from time to time, even us old ladies. (smile) Please do not take away her privvies? We love our youngster, depply much. I am not one bit surprised to see that she has someone watching over her internet activities as I can tell she has been nicely raised. Good for you.
Colleen, LOL, walking around and around your kitchen island will only work if you do NOT stop at the refrigerator on your tour. I have found that the further I walk from the kitchen the skinnier I get. Our bodies have a thermostat that keeps us from getting bigger and bigger and bigger usually. A few unlucky individuals have grown so big that they must be cut out of their homes. I love Richard Simons as I think he is a sincerely good person. Would be hard to take full time though. LOL My daughter is about 180 and I have told her that since she does not gain any weight and can eat what she wants she should leave well enough alone. Not everyone is made to be pencil slim. I see friends who suffer over each and every pound when they could be 5-10 pounds heavier and look great and be able to enjoy life also. Balance, is what I preach. I am the first to say that gaining and gaining over the years is not a good thing. Wish I had been smart enough to figure that out when I were a youngster. LOL
We are booked into DW mid May for 11 days and then a few days at a retirement community on the way home. Fairhope is becoming a fast approaching dream rather than a reality. (sobbing)
My dh has never been a go getter from day one. He is quite a bit older than I am (14 years). He informed me right after we married that he was too old to mow lawns and such. I was only able to get him to go to work all these years because I did everything else, including shoveling the snow from the path to the garage (75 feet or so). His parents and brothers tell me that he used to leave home (was living at home at 38) and they would find him at the state park sitting instead of going to work. Now that he is retired, he sleeps until 10-11 almost everyday and then gets up and walks about 25 feet to the kitchen where he spends the day watching tv and eating. He is happy. It would drive me nuts to do nothing. If I could be assured of a jury of women I might consider something drastic. (I think I am kidding) He is in great health and I am not. You know what happens to a race horse that cannot race anymore? Hope life is as kind to me in my dotage. (wry grin)
At least Scott is a worker somewhere. All men would be that way if they can get away with it or stand it. I have friends whose husbands are picky and do everything cause they do not like how their wives do things, it is our curse to be perfect. (ROTFL)
As far as Scott or Tom having to fend for themselves in a nursing home one day - nope, there are a bunch of older women out there who are so desperate to have a man in their lives so they will be snatched up quickly. Tom would enjoy a nursing home, not much different from what he has now. It is arranged that when I croak he will move down with one of his brothers. It will be my revenge. LOL
Have just paid the bills for the month and it balances to the penny. Small things like that make me happy. Back to the yard for a bit, tiny yard, lots of flowerbeds to clean. Tom tells people that I am the boss and he explains it this way "I have seen the job and I don't want it". Neither do I.
Slightly Grumpy/Linda (smiling through the irritation) LOL
