Am I correct that in order to see the Electrical Water Pageant from Magic Kingdom (~10:35pm) you must exit the park? You can't see it from up on the train station or anywhere, can you?

You cannot see it from any where inside the park.

You cannot see it from any where inside the park.

from mk, you'll even want to go past security and get to a spot the docks with canopies aren't blocking the view as well.. If your a smoker, decent view from the outside the park smoking section and there is seats.

So if it's an EMH night, how much of a pain would it be to catch Wishes from Main St (10:00), get out and catch the EWP, and get back in to finish the evening?

Caution: The performance of EWP that plays "for" MK is often run WITHOUT AUDIO.
That's because it can be a distraction to exiting guests.

You can see the Electrical Water Pageant from the beaches or Marinas on the open lake side of any of the MK area resorts.
(Poly, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Ft. Wilderness)
Its just a very short (5-7 minutes) "show" that takes place ON the lagoon.

Although Electrical Water Pageant generally follows the schedule below... Inclement weather can cause cancellation of the pageant.

Polynesian Resort -- 9 p.m.
Grand Floridian -- 9:15 p.m.
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35 p.m.
Fort Wilderness -- 9:45 p.m.
Contemporary Resort -- 10:05 p.m.

Magic Kingdom -- 10:20 p.m. (only during extended MK park hours)

-Note that when the Magic Kingdom Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m., the Electrical Water Pageant runs about 7-20 minutes later.

Electrical Water Pageant

The words conjure some phantasmagorical display of
dazzling lightning-like high voltage interplay with glittering aquatic delights, no?

Well...

My favorite saying about these kind of "simple" things comes from Hawkeye Pierce on the old M*A*S*H TV show.

"It's not much, but it's really nothing."

Although I never miss a chance to see it... inappropriate "over-anticipation"
can be built up over the "Electrical Water Pageant".

People seem to be expecting to see "Main Street Electrical Parade on the water,"
when it is really closer to seeing oversized "Lite Brite" pegs mounted on some barges,

with a "Casio Keyboard" music track.

Don't get me wrong, I still love it, and it's a piece of WDW History, but first-timers, please don't get your hopes set too HIGH.

Thanks! I had no idea the MK showing was sometimes without audio. That would definitely not make it worth the hassle to me to exit and reenter.
We know and love the show, and usually watch from the Poly beach. We're hoping to see it from the Poly beach our first night, but it we miss that one, our only other feasible chance would be the Wed EMH night at MK. We're so bummed about the MSEP being discontinued, that the music from EWP would at least cheer us up a bit.
