Everything you need to know about WDW Christmas- Tips & Secrets

My DH and myself are going at Christmas.

Can someone please explain to me how the CP dining package works with the times posted in the previous years? If I were to choose a 5PM dinner at Biergarten; then do I get to choose what time we want to see the CP; either 6:45 or 8:15; or do they choose for you?

Thanks.

For the 5:00 show, your ADR time would be between 1:45-2:45 (which would be for lunch then); for the 6:45 show, your ADR would be between 3:30-4:30; and for the 8:15 show your ADR would be between 5:00-6:00. So if you want to eat at 5:00, you would have to do the 8:15 show.

Any idea when the Candlelight Processional dinner packages might go on sale? I assume that when they do go on sale, the schedule of narrators for 2012 will be released too?

Also, I read the link posted but I'm still a little unclear about the cost. Do you pay the price listed and that gets you a meal at the restaurant you've chosen, plus a seat at the show? If so, what is included with the lunch/dinner?

If I remember correctly the packages became available mid to late July last year. Most of the gosts were announced but there were still a few TBD dates. And I believe changes can and typically do happen with that host list up until show time... We used our dining credit with the free dining to cover our CP package. If you don't do it that way...there is a charge like a buffet I believe...and it includes an appetiser, main course, desert and drinks (non alcolholic).

Yep, July 26th in 2011, Aug 26th in 2010. I called yesterday and was told this year they would be available June 26th :)

We are going Nov 23-28 2012! Our first Christmas experience in Disney!! We always go in the summer when it's like 115 degrees outside! So glad I found this thread.. now it's gonna take me 3 days to read it!

I read that 12/1 is the Christmas Parade taping at MK. That is going to be our last day and we usually try to go to MK that day. Our flight is at 6 pm so we probably will have a DME time of around 3 pm.

My plan was to head to MK for a few hours in the morning to catch what we missed on our full day there. Then leave the park and tour a few of the resorts on the monorail before heading back to CBR to catch the DME bus.

Will being there in the morning of the Christmas Parade taping be crazy?

What time do they usually do the taping?

Do they close of Main Street during the taping?

And can we exit out of the park during the time they are taping?

I'm having nightmares about being stuck in the park and not making our flight. :lmao:

Since it is your flight day I would avoid the whole area.

Is it a definite that they are taping the parade on the 1st? I had forgotten all about that and Dec. 1st is our arrival day. We had planned on heading over to MK around 11am. Is this a bad idea? Has anyone been there while they are taping?

I wouldn't do it. You won't be able to get around Main Street. You will probably be guided into the park via backstage routes. You could probably do some rides, but for me, that view of the castle walking up Main Street is just as important.

Such great tips! Will be saving this thread to help plan our trip this December for our 10th Wedding Anniversary!

Question...we are looking to do the CP dining package on 12/7, for our anniversary dinner.....are weekends harder to get a ADR for? I plan to be up bright and early on the 26th to get our reservations for the middle show....Should I be calling and checking online or just call? Will the ADRs be up online? No narrator is listed for that date yet, not that I care who it is, but will that make people less likely to go for that date first?

Thanks for any and all help!

Would you recommend taking the buses to the parks, or driving?:confused3

This question is no different at Christmas time. If you are staying onsite, I would bus to MK, and drive everywhere else. Busing to MK from an onsite resort is different because it takes you directly to the MK, whereas driving does not. That said, either way is a matter of personal preference.

I do think that will make people less likely to jump for it. Last year I was going during Neil Patrick Harris' dates and I wasnt able to get a reservation. The CM on the phone didnt know who the narrator was but commented it must be someone popular since there were no spots left. I'm pretty sure you are able to reserve it online now, so just make sure you do ASAP and I don't think you'll have a problem. Have a wonderful anniversary :)

But we can't reserve CP package until June 26, right? Is that 7 am Florida time?

Hello,
I know this isn't the spot to make this request ... so I hope someone will point me in the right direction!
I'm planning a trip to WDW early in December; a new experience as we've only been during April school vacations in the past.
This thread has lots of info but I'm having trouble interpreting the abbreviations. I've gone to the main area of the boards but that section appears not to have been updated for years.
Anyplace else I should be looking?
Thank you.
