Everything you need to know about WDW Christmas- Tips & Secrets

we are going to Disney November 13-19 going to the party. but will most of hte decorations be up? santa be around? all the fun stuff everyone is talking about will it be there at this time?

I believe that the HGTV special said that most if not all of the decorations should be up by Nov. 8th-10th.

any discounts yet for the week before Christmas? We've been looking and waiting for our Disney Visa to send us a pin, but nothing yet.

Should we just make our reservations now to allow us to make our dinner reservations and hope the Free Dining or Room Discount comes later? If so, does Disney happily 'adjust' our booking or do we have to beg?

Thanks.

what dates are you going? we got a pin for 40% off resort back in jan/feb (our dates are december 17-23). the best method to use is to go on, save three different "vacations" and also request a DVD. both my mom and i got a pin this way. a friend of mine also got a pin by doing this. i can't guarantee you'll get a pin, but it's worth a shot.

we are going the same dates, and looking back in my email file, we got a code back around the same time, but it expired before we made our decision.

we called a couple of times and were told that discounts have dried up right now, but to keep checking back.

we ended up making our reservations for the AS Suite, but we hope a discount comes!

RobinDianne asked about breakfast a few pages back.

You could order room service;)

Our traditional Christmas breakfast is smoked salmon with melba toast and champagne.

I was wondering - I have ordered my MVMCP tickets but am thinking of changing our dates - could I call and have them change the dates of my tickets?:santa:

We are going Dec 17-23 also. Was not planning a trip but got a pin early in the year for 40% off deluxes and jumped on it. Staying at the Poly.

So, dumb question... for MVMCP, do we need separate park passes too?? I didn't see it posted when I was buying the tickets for the party???

Thanks

no, not for the party. but you do if you want to go into the park that day.

I beleive the park closes for day guests at 7 pm? so if you want to spent the whole day at the park and then to the party at night, you would need to use both obne day each on the park passes, AND have a hard ticket for the christmas party.

however....they almost always lets people with tickets for the christmas party enter the parks early, at 4 pm.

there have been numerous threads about this, and rumours every year that they won't let you in early. i think they always do. wouldn't know myself, never done the christmas party.

I believe not.. right? I think it counts as the pass to get in. I hope that is the case, cause this is what I am planning.

It does countas the pass to get in, but only for the party, not for the day. so , technically, only from 7 pm on. but they have, for years, I understand, let people in at 4 pm with the hard ticket for the party.

you cannot, however, get in at rope drop (morning opening) with your park ticket. ie, you can't spend the whole day in the park.

Excellent thanks!!! We arrive in the morning, planned to hit DTD for lunch... then head to the party probably about supper time, sooooo, it will be perfect to not have to get an additional park pass...

Yep, I knew that... whew though. I planned to check into WL and then head over to the party probably around 5 or 6pm. (I know that I may not get in early..but if I can...)

This is our plan too. :goodvibes

This will be our first MNSSHP, although we have been to WDW many times.

1.) I'm not doing the photopass CD, but would like to get the ghost pictures of all us. So, I'll get a photopass card and maybe order a few prints from it (we won't be doing meet and greets). How much are individual prints?

2.) We're wearing Halloween tees. Is it ok if my son's shirt has a skull on it? It's not bloody or gorey. It's a skull with an outline of a coffin. I found it a thrift store and thought he might be able to wear it for the party, but then I started having second thoughts. He's a tween, KWIM?

3.) Are the popcorn buckets refillable throughout the night? I don't ever recall getting popcorn at WDW. We don't want to waste time eating a meal during the party and I thought I could keep them fueled with popcorn and candy.

Thanks for your input! I can't wait for the party!!
