Everything you need to know about WDW Christmas- Tips & Secrets

Hi Sarah!! Will-call is usually where the ticket booth window is when you enter each park. At MK, I think the guest relations is to your left inside the Ctiy Hall building. Will-call may be in there also if it's not at that ticket window!!

Thank you for your help! MK ticket booths are at the Ticket & Transportation Center, right? We'll try there :thumbsup2

Guest Relations is there, as well as to the right of the turnstiles BEFORE you enter MK.
And I believe will-call is at the TTC.

But you have to pay to have them mailed, right? We are picking ours up at will call. I don't want to chance forgetting them at home!

You're right, there is a fee to mail the tickets. I believe that I paid $4 for standard 1st class mail.

My wife has always wanted to go for Christmas, this year for the very first time, we are all going as a family. We are also going to surprise the boys with the trip this year! Wonderful post!! Thanks everyone for the info!

Regarding the CP, we're scheduled for dinner at Tutto Italia at 3:40 and will be getting an in room sitter (staying at CBR). How early should I arrange a sitter in order to give us enough travel time? We'll be driving from the resort. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA.

I don't know if this question has been asked before, and I am sorry if it already has...I have read a lot of the pages, just not all of them....

We will be in the World from 12/1-12/8 and we were wondering if there was a way that we could take one of our photopass cards to one of the photo shops at the front of the park (preferrably MK) to have Christmas cards made up either before we leave for home or sent to our home. If there is, does anyone know how much that would cost? Any info would be great...TIA.

I don't know about having cards made, but you could not buy the cd ahead and just buy it there. That way, you will have the cd in hand when you get home, the rights to all the pix and can get a card made up at Wal-mart or whatever.

If it were me, I'd have the sitter arrive no later than 2:45 so we had plenty of time to park at Epcot, wait for the tram, then hoof it all the way to the back of the park to check in 15-20 minutes early, as they recommend. :thumbsup2

sounds reasonable, thanks! :thumbsup2

We opted for Thursday the 10th as opposed to Tuesday the 8th. Our reasoning - Thursday is our last full day, let's go out with a bang! Friday we have to catch the ME at 4P :sad2:

Also, I just have to ask - is it driving you nuts seeing your old countdown at 16?

;) Funny you should ask. It was driving me crazy when it was counting down. I don't know if you can see the tiny print, but it is past now. I kept thinking, I would be in DW right now! But now I can say, I would be sad that I'm home now, and I have a trip to look forward to still (& it won't be crazy hot like September)! It seems close yet soooo far away. lol

We were going to do September as well, my DD turned 2 on the 6th. We thought it would be fun to go for her literal birthday. Then my mom reminded me of hurricane season and I went to my fall-back, Christmastime!!!

It does seem so close, but you just can't touch it yet!

Sorry if this has already been asked, but does anyone know what time a) the Osborne Lights are turned on b) the Epcot tree lighting is c) the MK tree lighting is and d) the stories are all told in the countries around WS? Are all these times published somewhere as it gets closer to time? Thanks!

I'd like to know also about the Osborne Lights -- what time of day are they turned on and is there a program for that like the tree-lighting ceremonies.

Osborne - usually 6 pm (dusk)
Epcot tree lighting 6 p.m.
MK - don't know. But I did read on the DIS main page from last year's info that there was a ceremony but that was not every night (maybe they just flip the switch on the other nights?) :confused3 I would hazard a guess that it would also be around 6 pm.

We stayed at WL for 2 weeks during December several years ago and it was amazing. Wish we could this year, but the DTD Hilton will have to do. Here is my list of must do's:

1. Go to the WL and grab some hot chocolate and a rocking chair, sit by one of the big fireplaces, and admire the multi-story Christmas tree.

2. MVMCP - okay, so I know it costs extra and they do a lot of the same stuff after the 18th, but I just can't help myself!

3. The Osborne Lights - and wear the glasses (then bring them home with you so you can make all the twinkle lights on your tree at home look neat!).

4. Gingerbread houses at GF.

5. If you have small children, take them to see Santa - just be sure to stand VERY CLOSE when they tell him what they want for Christmas. Fortunately, I overheard my then 3yr old DS tell Santa that the one thing he really wanted was a Roly Poly Olie playset, but he had NEVER mentioned it to us. Whew! Disaster averted!

6. Watch it snow on Main Street.

7. Get a personalized Christmas ornament to take home.
