Everything you need to know about WDW Christmas- Tips & Secrets

I'm not sure if it occurs during your trip or not, but the Disney ABC Christmas parade is usually taped in the Magic Kingdom the first weekend of December. :santa:

We'll be there from the 4th to the 8th. I've heard you need tickets for this. How would you get them?

Thanks,
Colleen

My husband and I are in the beginning stages of planning our december no kids trip. :cool1:I haven't made any reservations yet and really haven't settled on exact dates. Right now I am leaning towards Dec 1-6. This would make the Saturday of the taping our last park day. I want to avoid crowds rather than see a taping of a show. My guess is to avoid MK this day. What is the best park to go on a Saturday in Dec? I did Unofficial Guide for our last trip but probably won't use it this trip. I will rely on DIS.

I currently have two days of park hopper passes. I am trying to decide if I should purchase another day or go to MVMCP. I don't need park tickets for that day. Is that correct? I am thinking that it would be cheaper to do that rather than buy a full days ticket and then use my park hoppers for EPCOT, HS and AK. I am thinking that most of our time is going to be in EPCOT. We are really trying to stay on a budget and spend as little money as possible. Our next goal is to avoid as many people as possible. ;)

Rumor has it ( at least a few weeks ago) was that the Jonas Brothers are one of the performers

My 8 yr old would be so upset to find out that we got to see Jonas Brothers and she didn't. LOL

Thanks for all the tips. I don't have time to read through all of them right now but keep them coming. They are getting me very excited for my trip. I can't wait. :yay::yay:

PS I need to settle on that date so I can get my ticker going. I really want to see that on the bottom of my posts.

With the CP pkg,No it is not how they did it in the past. But remember adrs were also 180 days out and they aren't anymore.I only know what the last 8 cms have told me , and the several have told my TA. 90 days. Some said 90 days, some said 90days like the rest of your adrs.My guess is if Disney isn't sticking to the 90 day rule like all adrs that they will release ALL CP pkgs at the 90 day mark which would be Mid to end of August

S:confused3orry for the stupid question but what is CP package?:confused3

I thought after they ended the hard ticket Xmas party, they started having the things available during the party, such as the parade, the fireworks, the shows, available free for that week up through Xmas. Such as the parade, twice nightly at the party, is the 3pm parade in place of the regular one, Wishes fireworks are the XMas fireworks, and so on. Somewhere I read the parade goes up till NYE day, I was hoping it would go till the 3rd as we come on the 2nd!
Last year, it was gone by the time we were there on the 3rd.

CP is the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. The package is a special dinner reservation that includes a special seating area for the Candlelight Processional. It's similar to the Fantasmic! dinner package.

So, can anyone verify that starting the weekend before Christmas MK basically has everything that MVMCP has without the free cookies and hot cocoa?

We will be getting back from our cruise the Sunday before Christmas and are thinking of saving one of our day passes to visit MK that day instead of paying extra for MVMCP before the cruise. We're hoping to see snow on Main Street, the Christmas fireworks, Christmas parade, and maybe a Christmas show in front of castle.

Is it true that starting the weekend before Christmas this will all be at the MK with your regular admission ticket?:confused3

Great tips and secrets so far! Hoping more people have more small detailed tips and secrets that they can add.

Hey There! Can anyone tell me what is included in the CP dining Package? Appetizer and dessert? Thanks for info...

We are coming down in December too from the 10th to the 15th. It is nice to see people have as many questions that I have!! We are so excited for the decorations, the parades, the party! Never thought I would find myself looking forward to December in July!!

This is also our first Christmas season in WDW, and we can hardly wait! See ya there!

We will be there Dec. 4 thru 12. My question is, since the Xmas party is going on every other day for the week we will be there (and I am only going to buy tickets for one of those days) what time will I have to leave the MK, on those party days?

heading to Disney the 19-23 with my girl friend. Its out first time in Disney around the holidays. I am really interested if there is anything special going on the week if christmas.

so glad i found this thread!!! going to the world for Christmas!! December 23-jan 2nd!!! haven't read through all of it yet but subscribing so i can read through all the pages!!

Go to Port Orleans and take a carriage ride just $35 per carriage! The carriage and horse had a few Christmas decks. It goes around Port orleans Riverside and French Quarters and to see the lights and decorations was beautiful! We took the last carriage ride of the night. To our delight we watched fireworks from Epcot from the carriage.....

Then take the boat from POFQ to Downtown Disney for some Christmas shopping or just to listen to Carolers or musicians. The atmosphere is so very Christmas! Santa Claus is there too!

Charleyann:santa:

this sounds like fun!! we are staying at port Orleans!! how far in advance do you need to book it?? and do they do it after christmas?

Ditto, I think the carriage ride would be fabulous! And it's just $35/carriage? Do you think a family of 5 could fit in one carriage???
