Everything you need to know about MagicBands.

I've heard stories of MagicBands falling off and was considering bitbelts, or something similar. However, with the new bands that are now coming out, I'm wondering if there's still an issue with this, or if the bitbelts on the market would even still fit the new bands. Just got our MagicBands in the mail this week, and haven't tried them on yet to see if they're secure. Anybody have any insight into these new MBs?

I've heard stories of wedding rings coming off in the shower. I'm sure there is a few people out there that had a bad experience but it's not a mass problem with them. you dont need to spend more money they do stay on.

Agree with @Accident above that the stories of MB's falling off (either version) are vastly overblown. Its not an issue.

Couple of quick questions, if anyone can help...

1. Can I have more than 1 magicband activated? I have a couple of designs I'd like to wear, can I have them both activated for the trip and then just wear whichever I feel like each day?

2. We have a split stay booked, so I was going to decline magicbands for the second stay. However, I notice that although I have 2 separate orders listed, in reference to each of the different periods, the confirmation number (starting with M:) appears to be identical on both orders. Is that normal? It's made me hesitant to decline the order because I don't want to upset the first one!

Thanks in advance for any advice, it's much appreciated!

1. Yes, you can have multiple active. Just go on your my Disney experience account under magicbands and link them all in there.

2. I did a split stay and declined the second set and everything was fine. All goes back to which ones you have active on your account.

Thanks everyone! I finally tried on my MB, and I think I'm in agreement with all the opinions here that they're secure and unlikely to fall off.

Do I need to link the first stay ones to the second stay at all, or will they just stay active?

MagicBands are not linked directly to room reservations nor admission. Everything links to your MDE account and the MagicBand is just a key to accessing that information.

Splendid, thanks for clarifying!

So I'm trying to decline magicbands for the second part of our split stay, but for some reason I am only getting the option to decline a magicband for my husband (who is listed below myself on the site) and not for me, I only have 'ready to customise' showing, whereas he also has a clickable 'decline magicband' option... Any ideas?

We've had the same issue since the decline option became available over a year ago.

There are some situations where it disappears and I can't make out what the differences are. Generally if your not seeing the option you can call and they will be able to help or give you a better idea why you can't decline it...

I personally just take them all, I know my daughter has moods and sometimes wants to color coordinate with outfits and with the movable icon, you can mix and match band color with the icon that is linked to you offering even more flexibility to let your personality shine. they also are included so you don't get a discount if you decline them.

If I keep them, will my first stay bands stay active too?

I've had issues with the magicband section of MY Disney Experience before and have had to call Disney's internet support and they fixed it right away.

I was wondering...

We have magic bands from our trip in November of 2013 that I would like to use this trip (May 2017) as we are staying offsite this time. They have already been linked with our park passes. Does this mean we will not be able to get any of the pictures from the newer rides (Seven dwarves, Frozen Ever After)? Or can we still do a tap somewhere to get them? I am guessing the battery is long dead by now.

Correct, my oldest band is from 2014 is it's not worked for photos for almost 2 years. you can get the photos where you can claim then by touching the MB to the screen but for the couple rides you have listed you will need a newer band with a good battery to get those.

Will a magic slider bought last year fit a magic band 2.0? My husband got me a Minnie watch slider and wondered in it would work. I can always do an old band too

Staying offsite, purchased magicbands for entire group-8 total (from disney store online). Linked some with app, some on desktop. One of the 8 says invalid ID. All the rest linked easily. I tried linking on app and computer. How can I link the last magicband? Will I have to do this at Disney? We'd like to be ready to go on our first park day; can this be fixed at disney springs? We will be there a day before going to parks. Thanks in advance for advice.
