Okay I might get flamed for this but....:scared:

It's my families 1st trip ever to WDW, and I am completely in charge of our planning. I originally booked with "THE CODE" but am starting to get pretty freaked out about the whole thing, so......

I canceled my ressie with the code, and stuck with my gut instincts. I know some of you would like to say Im stupid or dumb or whatever, but I just would hate to get into any drama checking in on our 1st night on my 1st trip. YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN??? I want my trip to be a magical one! pixiedust:

Just felt that I had to vent. Because I am a lil bummed, that I downgraded. But it's okay! :thumbsup2

I know what ya mean. I had a first trip once, ENJOY!!! :goodvibes Anyhoo, stick with your gut. I booked my trip in Oct at rack and I sit here still at rack. I have AAA so I may check that out. I have received no pins, no postcard, but called "once" and asked if there were any discounts for fall when this mess first started. The CM responded NO, so I just left it at that. With all the inconsistencies and nothing posted in any of the reliable places where you would usually find code and discount info, I too have gone with my gut and will wait this out.

Again, have a wonderful trip! I don't know where you are staying, but don't look at it as a downgrade. I would gladly stay happily at any resort. It's all Disney and it's alllllll good!! :thumbsup2

:yay: U guys are alot more understanding then I thought u were gonna be. LOL. I've seen some people get the torches out when a person says something against from what everyone elses doing. Thanks guys! I feel better, I think I did the right thing, for me and my family. :goodvibes

My TA has just informed me that when she called Disney to correct the spelling of my DD's friends name, the told her that I was going to need my pin at check in! She said they advised her that there has been a lot of confusion regarding the PIN attached to the code and if you don't have the card at check in, they will ask you to pay the regular price.

I am sure that once the confirmations start coming in the mail, we will see that it states under "Resort Information": Eligible post card/pin number required at check in" or something like that. I know on the AP & FL codes it states, "Eligible Annual/Seasonal pass required at check in" or "Valid Fl ID required at check in".... if they are stating on the confirmation..then they will have every right to charge rack rates without it.. and Disney will charge you it. I am waiting to see what mine says...

You cannot give them that bologna that my dog ate it, or I lost it.. they will not fall for it. The post card would probably say something pertaining to holding onto it also... as well as an email may state it needs to be printed out....Disney usually covers all basis.. I am waiting to see what my confirmation says.. if that is the case, I do not have a pin.. I will just cancel & wait for the AP or FL rates to come out. They usually are in that 40% off range.... To me it is no big deal, I go often. To many of you, this may be your only trip for a year or so.. I feel for you... I know it is no biggie for me.. hope this all works out for everyone.. Disney needs to get their act together... big time. Yes, I know they watch these boards. I hope they see the mess they have made for some people. While it is not the poor CM's on the other end of the phone fault.. you cannot blame them for not knowing, it wasn't told to them! It is upper management.. it is the computer system.. it is not the CM on the other end of the phone line.
Just last night a friend of mine called to ask a question about her upcoming March trip.. we are both going at the same time in March.. we think they pulled up the wrong person on her.. the CM went onto say that they see how she has several other ressies & that she has been calling everyday for availability in PO-Riverside.. She had no clue what the heck they were talking about. She has one ressie.. it is for March, we are linked together with a Magical Gatherings number. Her, her son & his family, me (and my family) as well as my cousin. That amouts to 4 different rooms.. I am the only one out of the 4 family's that have other ressies :confused3 Now did they pull mine up or someone else's totally.. definatly not hers !!! I haven't called everyday looking for PO either! .... Disney needs to go back to their MAGIC.. and forget their budget cuts... they have spread themselves too thin..... they no longer care about the guest. That company is so big.. they know they will survive without us..

Not to get too crazy with this - but my email says nothing about printing it, saving it, or bringing it at check-in.

Nor does my reservation so far.

My card states nothing to this effect. I'm bringing the card, but I highly doubt this is true. If you have a pin, Disney has it on file. :)

Is this the same deal as the huge flyer and free photomovie thing I just got in the mail? I'm so confused!

My card doesn't say anything about needing to produce your postcard at check-in either, plus I specifically asked when I called to book and was told that you DO NOT need to keep proof of your code.

I've gotten a postcard in the past and never had to bring it at check in. As long as you gave them the code on the postcard you are fine. They never even bring it up.

My mail confirmation is here - says nothing of the sort.

Your TA is wrong. I have gotten postcards in the last 3 years and was never even asked for it at check in. I made sure to ask when initially booking and was told over and over that it is taken care of at that time and we did not need the post card. We have never had a problem. Nothing was ever noted on the confirmations either.
Edited to add that I just called CRO and was told that you do not need the postcard. It is done at time of booking.

I will be surprised if anyone sees that message on their confirmation. Never say never. But I would be very surprised....

I also had a call from my TA today to let me know to print of the e-mail pin and to take it with me to Disney, for my check in as they were going to check out each and every booking with this 40% pin. She was told by Disney that there had been a lot of fraud going on in regards to this special and that's why they were requesting Guest to show prove of the pin e-mail at check in, if the prove was not provided then Full Price would be requested!!!!

:scared1:

It is all speculation - no matter what you here from your TA or the CM or supervisor - until someone gets the dreaded call or actually goes and uses the package we will not know.

We need to remember that this board is for discussing Disney Resorts Rates and Codes and not for legal discussions or speculation that raises hair on the back of peoples necks.

I just spoke with a CM who told me that the code that I was offered was a non-pin 40% offer and I would NOT need any postcard, PIN, passport, legal affidavit or notarized letter from a family physician(LOL). I reiterated to a supervisor that it was (name of CM that I wrote down) who suggested to me that there was a discount attached to my family's name. She said that there were many offers out there for the same PIN offer dates and a good amount of these did not need a PIN. I felt much better after clearing this up. I recognize that this is not a promise. Threehearts

They told her I would need it.. maybe I would need it since I did not have one when booking.... ??? She booked for me, they gave it to her... ??? I do know when you book with AP or FL rate, they do not ask for "proof" over the phone, but your confirmations clearly states that you need it for check in. She still has not gotten my email confirmation yet. I cannot pull up my ressie online since she booked it... I am in limbo now. She asked me what I wanted to do. When she gets the email confimation, she will forward it to me. I haven't gotten anything from Disney yet either.. They did charge my credit card for the deposits.. I checked my online statement & the charges are there :confused3

Or at least the hard copy (even emailed copy) of the confirmation would help in a way. We can at least see if it states that card/pin is needed at check in.. if it doesn't & there is nothing in writing anywhere, how is one suppose to really know :confused3 until, like you said, they get there.. popcorn:: all we could do is sit & wait..
how about we start a thread of dates & if pin was used or not.. maybe by doing that, we can see from us, which one of us will be the first going?????

Well I am glad your TA said that too.. mine isn't the only one... so they are not wrong as some are stating. I think our TA's are looking out for their clients unlike Disney is their guests.. :confused3

A Mickey - I have my hard copy confirmation. It states the code (the Z one) and says nothing about needing any documentation when checking in. I have checked three times now. It looks EXACTLY the same as the paperwork I received for my trip we just returned from (I used a public code then).

While that is all well and good, and the TAs can say whatever - you have to think about the ACTUAL implementation. What are they going to do when faced with countless people - face to face - with paid in full packages who are checking in - and were NOT told they needed a piece of paper from 8 months ago? Think about it........
