Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Meal Vouchers

There's a price difference between the lunch and dinner vouchers. The lunch ran around $11.99 and the dinner was about double that price. Which price did you pay for yours? I have lunch vouchers but would be interested in the dinner ones. Thanks for the quick response........

They say quick and casual lunch or dinner at the Walt Disney world resort.

This dining certificate is valid during lunch or dinner during normal operating hours at a participating restaurant located within the Walt Disney World Resort

Hi all. I was thinking about buying breakfast vouchers for C.P. and Boma. We are two adults ,1 child, one 2 1/2 yr. old. If my calculations are right , it seems like we will save about $2.50(depending on tip) and not save but lose money at Boma. What has been everyone elses experience.
We are also going to buy 1 adult and 1 child vkl for rainforest. Thinking about buying for Sci -Fi. Would it help us if we want to order just burgers. Thinking we would have to get 2 adults not sure if can use child there to order off adult menu. My 7 yr. old has a big appetite and if we order off kid's menu, won't share hamburger with his sister. Thanks for any help.

Barbara

p.s. - Just joined hotwire. If order on Monday or Tuesday(13 or 14) would we get in time. We leave morning of 26th.

Thanks again.

I can't see the sense in purchasing vouchers for Boma if you're not going to at least break even on the transaction. If having the meal "pre-paid" is your objective, it makes more sense to just put the cash in an envelope labeled "Boma" and consider that to be your "pre-paid" meal.

For the Sci-fi, consider what it is that you would want to order. The vouchers can be a good value depending on what it is that you order and whether ordering appetizers and desserts are something that you would normally do. Take a look at the following scenarios:

#1 - not using vouchers; no appetizers or desserts
  • 2 kids' meals.............$12+ (with 6.5% tax & 15% tip)
  • 2 All American Burgers ............$26+ (with tax & tip)
  • 2 beverages for the adults.......$7+ (with tax &tip)
  • total for the meal = $45+

#2 - not using vouchers but ordering dessert & appetizers for the adults
  • 2 kids' meals.............$12+ (with 6.5% tax & 15% tip)
  • 2 appetizers .................$14+ (with tax & tip)
  • 2 All American Burgers ............$26+ (with tax & tip)
  • 2 beverages for the adults.......$7+ (with tax &tip)
  • 2 desserts ......................$12+ (with tax & tip)
  • total for the meal = $71

#3 - using 2 adult VKLs and buying kid's meals
  • 2 kids' meals.............$12+ (with 6.5% tax & 15% tip)
  • 2 adult VKLs .............$62 (covers all taxes & tips)
  • total for the meal = $73

As you can see, you will only come close to breaking even with the vouchers if you're eating burgers. If you choose a more expensive entrée like the Shrimp Penné Pasta ($16.99 before tax & tip) instead of the burgers ($10.99 before tax & tip), you would come out ahead

for adult breakfast at boma by the time there was tax tip added, we broke even ( bv were $1 less then )but wasn't worth getting them for..some said they were able to get the press pot with them which woud be a savings( think it was $6.50) but we were not.

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure my math was right on Boma's.

Thanks for taking the time to get sample items for Sci-Fi. We would probably try and share 2 adult vouchers and maybe get 1 extra kids meal depending on how it works out. I'll have to go look at the menu. Usually, we get one app. and one dessert and split it between the 4 of us.

Thanks,
Barbara

I've purchased some Q&C vouchers for my trip. I'm not planning on using them all, So I'm looking to sell the remainder on. Ideally to UK buyers ( I know the trouble I had getting them!)
Please assist!

Thanks

try e-bay or the auction board - which is down right now

try to sell them when you are at the park

REH: Maybe you should start a separate thread as most from the U.K. that are familiar w/vouchers already know how difficult they are to obtain and probably don't even read this thread.

No, I don't think there is even a location participating anywhere in Downtown. You could go to POR on the boat to or from there, that is way fun.

To those of you who are Pepper Market fans or future ones...............I am a voucher fan and they worked great for us last year and I plan on using them again for our Nov trip.

Our family of five went to the PM for 3 steak dinners and I asked our waiter about sides, he did not know. I spoke with a nice manager and asker if I couldn't get sides, she said sure and explained a few things that were available to me. We chose: just a bowl of chicken noodle soup (meaning without the bread it comes with and it was very large and delicious), a side of nachos (not market nachos) and cup of fruit ( strawberries).

See, all I had to do was ask!

Most places the fries were the side. The only other place I was allowed any sort of side was the Tangerine Cafe'.

There is lots of great info here, just wanted to share mine!:chat:

Oooh, I forgot to mention.........of all the places we ate on our last trip, the kids talk so often about how great the Pepper Market was!! They really loved all the food, and they got to order slushies instead of water ( a big treat for my kids). It didn't hurt that we spent all afternoon at Typhoon Lagoon and were very hungry!!::yes:: Great memories!

I think I have a pretty good handle on the Quick and Casual Certifications, and the best value locations for using them.

However, I am wondering about the lunch certificates and the breakfast certificates. I've read through much of this site (I'm on page 26 when I decided to simply ask- sorry if the information comes on page 27!!)

So, I know Rainforest Cafe is a great place for the $30 lunch certificate. Are there other places that are a great value?

For breakfast certificates, I seem to remember that the character meals were the best value. Is that accurate? Are there any other places that really give you a good deal with the breakfast certificates?

Thanks for answering my questions - I really am sorry if the answers are in here somewhere, and I didn't get there yet or missed them!!

We've used them at Hollywood Brown Derby and Chefs de France and felt they were great. I wish we could purchase them from Disney instead of joining a club. I don't want to join a club right now. I did enjoy the club a couple years ago but don't want to do it again for awhile.

can anyone tell me if you have been able to use them for the all you care to eat Skillet and get the all you can drink milk shake for a drink at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.. Thanks Michelle
