Everything you ever wanted to know about Be Our Guest

We (hubby, myself and 3 kiddos 5,9 & 12) had the opportunity to eat at BOG during our January visit to the world. We loved it!! The food was fantastic and the decor beautiful. My only complaint, is the noise level is on the loud side. But no worse than say Crystal Palace. My kids absolutely loved meeting Beast after dinner. They weren't expecting it, so it made it twice as fun.

I get to make ADR's next week I am really hoping we can get in for dinner sometime over our 8 days! I have been checking periodically and it seems it isn't any easier to get ADRs yet!

The first ADR of our March 23-30 trip was at BOG and it was the BEST one of the week! The overall experience was fantastic--from checking in, to being seated, served, paying--everything was 1st class! We sat in the West Wing and with 4 boys and 1 fiesty girl, the setting was perfect! It also was a nice end to a VERY rainy and windy afternoon (March 24th)--the dark room with thunderstorm noises fit perfectly! The kids loved watching the portrait of the Prince/Beast change with the lightening. Kept them entertained all night!

Kids ages were 5 yo girl, 9, 10, 11 and 12 year old boys. They ate kids steak and grilled chicken--both substituted fries but got the healthy green beans, too. The "adult" children ate steak and the shrimp and scallops. They LOVED the food. The 4 adults all had something different. I had the Cornish Hen, DH had the shrimp and scallops, my sister had the steak and her hubs had the pork chop. We all thought the food was perfectly prepared and presented. We also had the french onion soup--was DIVINE. For dessert we choose several different cupcakes and all decided the strawberry one was the best. It was the best cupcake we had all week, sampling from several different places. My son was celebrating a birthday but the server brought the GREY STUFF to all the kids. I tasted it and thought it had ZERO taste. But, it was fun and interesting and was another thing the kids thought was super cool. Our server was very animated and really helped set a perfect mood. One thing that perturbed me was that if someone missed the Beast in the Ballroom or he didn't come close enough to them, they ran into the West Wing to take pictures and blocked our view. We asked one woman to please move so we could have our turn. That was annoying.

Because Spring Break was SO crowded, we didn't try BOG at lunch. The line was almost to the entrance of New Fantasyland every day. Next time we go, which I can 100% guarantee won't be at a busy time, we will eat lunch AND dinner at BOG.

Overall, this beat out Le Cellier as our favorite Disney dining spot. I never thought any other restaurant could do that!

Thank you so much! This is such great information, I'm really excited to try this place on our trip in November!!

I'm all for healthy "alternatives" but to me that means that there are healthy choices along with the usual kids stuff like nuggets etc.. So those kids who would actually eat meatloaf and pulled pork (never met a young child that would) can order it. But what about the rest of us ?? Ugh! Not a big proponent of the nanny state telling us what to eat :furious:

Actually, my daughter hated the standard kids fare, and would love the options for kids at BOG - but when we go she'll be a Disney Adult, so she can choose whatever she wishes. Not every child hates broccoli, sweet potatoes, or pulled pork. Not every child likes nuggets. And if your child would hate everything here, maybe go eat somewhere else then. :confused3

I wish that this had been open our last trip, when my poor daughter felt so left out being limited to the children's menus.

Id keep trying even while your there BUT if you cant get dinner you can always walk in for lunch but I would advise lining up about 1030 the lines move somewhat quickly tho..

Lunch is very good.. Plus you get to see the inside and can walk around to the other dining rooms..:cool1:

We r hoping to get in line and go to lunch if we can't get dinner ressies. I hear the whole thing is great. I'm so excited!!

Children get to choose a cupcake with dinner but not at lunch. We ate there both meals in December.

The cupcake was soooo amazing! I has the strawberry cheesecake one and I wish I could eat it right now!

We had dinner there last week. My son had the kids steak -- it was so tender and flavorful. I had the adult steak, dh and dd had the scallops/ shrimp and other dd had the cornish hen. ( we also had the french onion soup and potato leek) plus 2 different cupcakes...and the grey stuff since we were celebrating my bday!!

This was my favorite place to eat all week. :)

our server was great.

we were seated in the main dining room. it was fun to watch the snow fall while you are dining.

good luck to all those trying to get reservations... it is worth it!!

It was mentioned that ressies could be made at 180 +10...I thought the earliest was 180 days out. Could someone please explain what the "+10" is all about? We are going in December and would LOVE to be able to get dinner reservations!

Hi All - I will be at MK on Sunday, April 21st with my 4 kids, all of whom are considered "adult" (i.e. over age 9) by Disney. We scheduled this trip last minute, so we are not on the dining plan, but I would love to eat lunch at BOG if possible. My questions:

1. Are the waits long on a Sunday (EMH that night)? Would getting in line around 1:30 be a mistake?

2. Since I will be paying by credit card, can we order things a la carte and/or will they honor special requests (for example I have one picky eater who probably would eat an order of french fries and a grilled cheese sandwich, if they will make it for him)? Or do we have to order an entire meal for everyone no matter what?

3. If you are not on the dining plan, can you order a kid's meal for 10 year old?

3. Does dessert come with the lunch or not, particularly if you are not on the dining plan?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

If you're going for say, 7 nights starting on May 1, you're 180 day would be 180 days from May 1.... then you get to book up to an additional 10 days of dining reservations if you stay at a Disney resort. That way, you can get up on the morning of the 180 days before your arrival day and make your reservations for the entire trip instead of having to get up each morning to make the reservations for that day. (does that make sense?) it's a perk for staying at a Disney resort. :thumbsup2

You can go right here, plug in your arrival date, then look down to see what your 180 day mark is...(I hope it's okay to post this!!) http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/pscalc/dispscalc.html

If your wanting lunch at BOG I would suggest lining up at 1030. Lines move fairly quickly tho.. Dessert is extra but so worth it here!

One of the meals is a grilled cheese and ham with fries I'm sure they would take the ham off no problem!

You can order kids meal for anyone in your party!

Thank you Syndeysmom! Yes, that makes perfect sense. I was hoping to make my ADR's before actually booking the room, but I guess I might be better off booking the room first! Boy, I learn so much from reading the disboards!! :)

You can still make your reservations before you book your room, but you'll have to go out each day and do it that way, it's just a bit more work. The other thing is, if you're going to be on the dining plan (but having booked yet) then you can't tie your reservations to your dining plan unless you're booked. In the case of say, Cinderella's castle, you'll get pre-charged for that meal when you reserve it if you don't tie it to your dining plan. (so keep that in mind too) You can always tie your reservations to your dining plan later though, so don't worry!
