Everything you ever wanted to know about Be Our Guest

What is the wait for lunch at the busiest of times?

I haven't heard any reports of actual wait times being longer than 45 minutes.

Is there an option to buy the picture with the Beast after dinner?

Yes, a PhotoPass photographer will be on hand. If you don't already have a PP card they will give you one. You can either purchase the photo before you leave the park at the photo center, or go online when you get home and do it then. The photographer can also take photos with your camera or phone.

Added a new FAQ, info about open hours/reservation times, and a post with photos of the food. Nebraska_Disney, I included a link to your post in the reviews post. If anyone else has a review they'd like me to link to, let me know and I'll he happy to do so :goodvibes

We ate at Be our Guest once for lunch, the food was wonderful and arrived to us quickly, but waiting outside for about 45 minutes in the sun beforehand kind of lessened my appetite

I am wondering how this is going to go as we get into the really hot months. We only waited about 15 minutes outside last month and it was in the 60s which made for a very pleasant wait;)... but I started to think what's going to happen when it's in the 90s and humid?? :( I guess we'll all have to "tough" it out, those summer months will be interesting because the crowds are high and so is the temp and humidity...make sure to have LOTS of water and sunscreen.:thumbsup2

Hi parkhopping, I have a link to our review from BOG lunch if you'd like to add/post it, I know it's been posted a lot but I have gotten a lot of feedback that it's been very helpful and informative.

ETA: nvm. I saw that the Op requested no more comments, after I posted, so I'm deleting to respect that request.

This is a great thread. We ate there last week and really enjoyed it. We all ordered something different: salmon, steak, shrimp/scallops, pork chops. We made the reservation back in November when my DD saw an ad on TV. She quickly said that would be her birthday dinner on Spring break. What a great choice. They brought her some of "the grey stuff". She said it was really good! We also split a couple of chocolate cream puffs for dessert. Very nice that the desserts were reasonably priced and not huge. I was the only one that ordered a drink: the lemonade topped with raspberry foam. It was very good lemonade.

The menu doesn't have loads of choices, but hardly any WDW restaurants have a big variety. We all found something we liked. It was so much fun to have a "fancy" dinner in the MK. I also liked it that it didn't take forever to have dinner. Some of the TS meals we have had in the past took way too long. We want a break, but not to the point that we miss fireworks, etc.

Thanks for posting all the pictures. I hope we can go there again next time and also try out lunch. We thought about going there for lunch one day, but the line was too long for us. The lunch choices look wonderful.

Just curious...

Can one person wait in line while the others do something else nearby? I haven't been there yet so I am not sure where you wait, the layout of the land or if any stores are nearby the kids can look around in while one parent waits. Or even bathrooms we can use. I am totally fine waiting in line as well as my older kids but it would be nice to let my husband walk around with 3yr old a bit to break up the time.

Not sure if this has been answered already. If we go for lunch I would like to order the croque Monsieur but it appears to be on brown bread? I can't have brown bread, is it possible to substitute for white bread? Does anyone know?

Thank you :)

I'm all for healthy "alternatives" but to me that means that there are healthy choices along with the usual kids stuff like nuggets etc.. So those kids who would actually eat meatloaf and pulled pork (never met a young child that would) can order it. But what about the rest of us ?? Ugh! Not a big proponent of the nanny state telling us what to eat :furious:

My 2 year old, 5 year old and 9 year old will eat the meat loaf and pulled pork. My 9 year old has eaten it all the time since he was a young child and loves it. My 3 listed above would probably even eat the Mahi Mahi....

It is not the "nanny" state telling you what to do in this case. I for one am all for health alternatives. I think many families and parents have requested healthier alternatives due to the childhood obesity epidemic. Not only that, but I am loving having a huge alternative selection of foods for the kids...

Right now I am in the midst of planning our trip for September (1st time ever) and can tell you that the only reason I am considering not getting the dinning plan is that there is such little selection in the kids menus and with 4 kids eating it. ALL of my kids will quickly get bored with eating PB&J or chicken nuggets all day every day for meals for a week. Not only that, but all the sugar in the jelly, all the salt in the nuggets are not healthy for them....

My granddaughters loved BOG.

I wish the meatloaf was on the dinner menu for kids as well, not just lunch. My kids love meatloaf. I noticed it is $2 extra for the kid's steak, if we are on the DDP will they just give us a bill for $2 with tip receipts? Just curious how it would work.

I believe your entire party needs to be present in order to enter the castle. So if you're waiting on the other side of the bridge, they'd have some time they could kill elsewhere, but you'd all have to be on the ball with communication to make sure everyone was present when you got to the castle entrance. There was a CM at the castle entrance asking the size of everyone's party and if they were present before entering.

Thanks. I figure once we enter we will all be together. People keep complaining about waiting in the sun outside and we will be there the 3rd week in Aug so trying to avoid roasting the kids :)

We do have dinner reservations but want to try lunch too. Thanks!

:thumbsup2 Thanks for posting all this info in one location. DD7 is so excited to eat in the Beast's Castle in July!! (DH & Myself are excited as well).

IMO - I think these menu choices for kids are great. This will be our 4th trip in 5 years, not once has DD7 had chicken nuggets or a hot dog. But every child is different.:):) I always pick restaurants that offer the best meal for her. It takes some research, but it can be done.

One more time...

I am kindly requesting that we end the conversation about kids' menu preferences. If you would like to start your own thread to debate the virtues of chicken nuggets vs. pulled pork, you are certainly welcome to do so. But that is neither the purpose or topic of this thread. I would hate to see this thread get closed because things got out of hand. I appreciate your understanding in this matter. Thank you. (Angel_Ariel, thank you for taking note of this and editing your post accordingly :goodvibes)

This is a great thread. We ate there last week and really enjoyed it...

So glad you enjoyed your meal! Hope you can make it for lunch on your next visit :)

I don't think it would be a big deal for your husband and child to leave the line and rejoin your group. He can just tell the CM at the end of the line that he's rejoining you further ahead. Also, Josh at easyWDW says:

Only one person has to be present to place the order. You may want to take a look at the menu (below) and figure out what everyone wants. That way, one person can stand in line and order while the rest of the group does something else. Once the person placing the order completes that process, they can text/call someone from the rest of the group letting them know that it’s time to return to the Castle. Just notify the person guarding the bridge that someone in your group has placed an order and you’re meeting up with them.

I haven't heard any reports of someone successfully doing this, but it seems like it would work. As for things to do in the area, you are not far from Bonjour Village Gifts and Gaston's Tavern. Your little one might enjoy looking around these two areas, as long as you can get out of there without buying everything he/she wants ;)

Not sure if this has been answered already. If we go for lunch I would like to order the croque Monsieur but it appears to be on brown bread? I can't have brown bread, is it possible to substitute for white bread? Does anyone know?

The Carved Turkey sandwich comes on a white baguette, so I don't think it would be a huge stretch for them to make the Croque Monsieur with that bread instead. I suggest asking to place your order with the cashier rather than using the kiosk so you can make this request and find out if it's possible.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe with the DDP you can get any entree on the menu at no additional charge. The reason it's listed that way is that on the printed kids' menu, it lists the price of the kids' meals as being $8.59 at the top of the menu. The steak is the only exception. If you are paying OOP it is $10.59. But it shouldn't make a difference for the DDP.

You are very welcome! Hope you enjoy it :goodvibes

My sister would love to eat lunch at BOG with us--she loves grilled cheese, but does not eat meat. Has anyone been able to order the croque monsieur without the ham? Not sure if they would allow this or if there is a way to do this at the kiosk? Any ideas? Thanks!

I see no reason why you couldn't do that. I know at the kiosk there are options to leave off the bechamel and gruyere; not sure about the ham. I recommend asking to place your order with the cashier instead of at the kiosk to be safe.

Great info and great thread! I cannot wait to try this place on our trip in June!! We just watched the movie again to get in the mood!!

My granddaughters love the food choices at BOG. They were raised to eat everything.

So are mine. Which is why I keep telling my Ped that my second son has something going on, because he is so picky. I usually end up cooking 2 meals at each meal time (one for the family and one for him). He wont eat most meats, wont eat any veggies but raw carrots, will east most fruits and lots of sugary sweets and stuff.
