Everything You Do, CELEBRATE YOU! - Polynesian - Club Level - TPV

Watched the vids!

I was surprised by Jamie's voice. Imagined it differently.
LOL'd at how you shook the camera when you were filming the map on the seatback and you were almost there.
<Bonk> "It hit me in the..." head, I presume.
"So random."

Loving it so far, Katie!

Fabulous review so far! We are staying at the Poly for the first time this coming June/July so I am so thrilled to see this pictures. Is the upgrade to CL worth it? Interested to know since we may have a few more DVC points to spread out...:hyper: Can't wait for more!

Can I please ask if it's not too cheeky, have you used the Disney laundry service before and if so, was it considerably easy to use the machines and priced?

I've never stayed in a Disney hotel before, only villas but the laundry situation is a new one for me.

Thank you in advance

Hello Katie! You are hysterical! I just finished reading your last trip report and it was the perfect little pick me up during nursing school study breaks, so thank you for being awesome and hilarious! I was wishing and hoping that at the very end would be a link to another report and there it was!

Disneyland Paris looks so beautiful. I'm very jealous! Your family seems very sweet too :)

Yay Poly! That view is to die for! My dream upon dreams would be to stay there with that view!

So after about 18 exclamation points, I just wanted to say that I'm really enjoying your reports and I can't wait to hear more! My boyfriend and I are planning our own trip to WDW next December as a late graduation/birthday gift to me! yay!!! I'll be following along!

Thank you so much for including your adventures in Disneyland Paris as part of your trip report! It was so fun to "experience" a new Disney park that I've never seen before! (And after reading about it, I need to get there someday!)

Now, onto the Disney World adventure!!!

Disney adrenaline should be studied for science.

Yes. Yes, it should. ::yes::

We are such eager beavers.

You mean that there are people that AREN'T at the airport ridiculously early for their Disney vacations?!

WE’RE HERE!
GOOD EVENING ORLANDO!

 I love landing in Orlando!

At about 6:15pm we were waiting for everyone’s favourite fake-o-rail!!!

You are so right - the fake-o-rail is so fantastic at the beginning of your vacation and completely sucky at the end of the vacation.

We're staying club level!!!!
The King Kamehameha Club to be exact.
So we bypassed the front desk, and were taken straight over to the Hawaii longhouse :goodvibes

:cloud9:

I'm rather jealous of your Club-level stay at the Poly. What a fantastic bonus!

WE HAVE A BALCONY PEOPLE.

:jumping1:

HOORAY FOR A BALCONY!!!

We had an UNBELIEVABLE theme park view room!!!

HOLY COW! What a phenomenal view! :woohoo:

HEY GIRL HEYYY.

A Disney vacation has not officially begun until you say hello to Stacy. :thumbsup2

And as an unexpected bonus, there seemed to be a speaker on the ground right outside our room, so we could hear the entire show really clearly!!
It was absolutely magical!!!

So, not only were you in Disney World...

and staying Club Level at the Poly...

and had that ridiculous view outside your balcony...

but you had a speaker WITH THE HALLO-WISHES SOUNDTRACK RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR?!

Okay, my jealousy has hit a whole new level. ;) Wow. :worship:

If all of that excitement occurred just on your first day, I can't wait to see what else is in store! :D

Hey Katie!! I'm back at the DIS after a long break and was so excited to see your new TR. :yay: I'm not sure if I even finished the last one. Will make sure to go back and do that. So I just binge read the DLP posts and thought I'd comment on those before I start the Florida posts.

September 14th – September 18th
The Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris with my family.

September 22nd – October 6th
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World with Jamie.

That’s a pretty perfect few weeks if you ask me!

So perfect. :cloud9:

We stopped at a service station for a cup of tea, because you know, we’re British.

22736690371_125968b435_c.jpg

I love that your "service stations" serve Starbucks tea in this adorable white cup. Ours serve gasoline-flavored coffee approximately the temperature of lava in styrofoam.

I love little french towns that are away from all the tourists.
I like to see how real french people live!

I can't believe how beautiful that town is. :lovestruc

This isn’t where we were staying, but Disney’s Newport Bay Club hotel was designed by Robert A. M. Stern; the same architect who designed Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club!

It looks just like YC! I had read the design of YC and BC were based on Newport, RI. I don't see the resemblance but that's just me. :confused3

Anyway, the woman we checked in with was really nice. She was “earning her ears” but she was already great. She was amused that I already knew everything about (paper) fastpasses, extra magic hours, etc.

Clearly she didn't know who she was dealing with. ;)

I love this castle so much!! I love the MK castle but this one has so much more character.

We went to play on Adventure Isle.
Yes, four adults, all 18+, went to play on Adventure Isle.
And it was a blast!

That looks like a combination of Tom Sawyer Island and the Swiss Family Tree House. Fun!!

That's a perfect ride photo!

James ordered a rum and coke, and as you can see, the rum filled half the glass! It must’ve been so strong.

22712359602_99a0099598_b.jpg

I've never seen a mixed drink served like that with the coke on side.

The parade was fun!
I guess everything looks a little dated once you’ve seen Festival of Fantasy, but it’s still fun.

It doesn't seem as cohesive as FoF but it's really cute.

Gorgeous!

It was designed by the same guy who did World of Color, and it involves fireworks, castle projections, water fountains, fire, lasers and mist screens.

Amazing! Thanks for sharing all the photos and video.

Seriously.
Book a trip to Paris JUST to see this.

I'm sold! I think we'll be booking a European vacation around 2019 (I like to plan ahead ) and Disney must be on the list!

This is one of the restaurants in our hotel, and strangely, it’s nothing like the Cali Grill WE all know and love.
The décor is more like the Grand Floridian Café, except it’s gold and beautiful and just :lovestruc

Love the view!

Love this!

And, OMG, the herd mentality is SO real with this one.

SO. MANY. PEOPLE. All join one queue, leaving the other one completely empty.

It is hilarious.

:rotfl::lmao:

I haven’t been scared of this ride since I was about 7 years old, but this all changed today.
During the video a bellhop came and stood behind me, then stuck his face forward right next to mine and SCARED THE BEJESUS OUT OF ME.
I definitely made some kind of noise and everybody probably thought I was a total weirdo who was scared of the video.
He left and I continued to watch the video, then towards the end he came back behind me and leaned forward to whisper in my ear,
“it’s waiting for you…”
Which ALSO made me jump out of my skin!!!!

That's awesome! I love it when the CMs get into it.

I love the French Minute Maid can.

The new Ratatouille area and ride!!!!!!!!

Someone needs to tell Billy about DLP! (ETA: The language in this is very NSFW.)

If you read my last trip report you might know how much I love the backlot tour (I know, I’m weird.)
I’m so sad they’ve closed it at Hollywood Studios, so I was really excited to ride it here in Paris!

I never got to see it at HS so I'm glad I have the chance to see it someday at DLP.

Beautiful!

I bought a postcard for my friends Bill and Mandy (the couple who sent me the Splash Mountain plushes!! Click here to read about it!) and another postcard for their Grandchildren, who are visiting DLP next year!

I remember this story! :goodvibes How nice you keep in touch.

Even French ketchup is fancy.

Do the CMs not understand how important bacon is?!??!?!?!

This kid gets it.

After some digging, I found the ONLY girls upper-body.

Wow. Clam shells is the best they could do. :sad2:

I would not let this guy cut my hair.

23039144349_0fa7256b0a_b.jpg

Aw, where's your sense of adventure? :rotfl:

(They said they saw a rat in Adventureland eating some old pizza on the ground! EW!)

Ratatouille!

This pictures are hilarious. Without context it appears as though your family was assaulted by these guys! :rotfl2:

OMG, Mickey was besides himself with anxiety!!!!!

Poor Mickey!

but if they’re persistent they’ll turn around and give the child the finger.
No, not that finger.

:lmao:

23368888761_a50cf81a4a_c.jpg

Thanks Pops! :lovestruc

Love this shirt!

(As you can see, the lack of character attendants and orderly queues are a problem at DLP!)

So they let the characters loose to be mobbed by the guests?!

I had to get a souvenir to remember how great this ride is, so I got this Ratatouille beanie hat, that looks like a rat!!!

(Actually, Dad bought it for me. He’s the best :lovestruc)

23451441715_e55f1187fb_c.jpg

Cute hat but I just don't see a rat. :confused3

Jamie was happy to see me, and was excited for our trip to Florida.
One of the first things he said to me was,
“I’ve lost 3lbs because you weren’t here to feed me!!!!”

Poor guy. Bet he was thrilled to see you. :goodvibes

Off to read about your trip to FL. Back soon to comment.

Great start to your Florida trip!!

I also spent some time seeing my best friend before she moves away for a while

Aww. :( I hope it's only temporary. My BFF lives in Michigan now and we rarely see each other but we still talk/write every day.

Disney adrenaline should be studied for science.

truth.

After waiting no longer than 2 minutes out in the cold, Jamie dramatically threw his head back and proclaimed,

“THIS IS THE WORST HOLIDAY EVER!!!”

:rotfl2:

We had been sat down for 10 minutes.
HOW DOES ONE FALL ASLEEP SO EASILY?

My Jamie is exactly the same way. I think he might have a mild form of Narcolepsy.

Anyway.
Check out this rain cloud.

:rotfl:I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets excited by clouds. When we're in the car I'm always telling the boys to look at the clouds. They humor me.

I think it's funny that they have the Titanic on the map.

An 8-hour flight sounds very long, but breaking it up into two 4-hour flights makes it feel much shorter.
That probably makes no sense.
Oh well.

More food!
We had a chicken wrap, crisps, millionaire shortbread, a cup of tea, and MORE WINE.

It does sound long either way. I suppose the wine helps a lot. :thumbsup2

I decided to watch Spy, has anyone seen it?!
We saw it at the cinema, I find it so hilarious.

So funny!

Sorry for our British ignorance, but is this how you pronounce Jamie in the Americas?!

Definitely not. :rotfl:

I could be wrong, but I think it could be a Mexican/Spanish thing?

I think so, too. Like Jorge for George.

We found this really funny, I still call him High-Mee to this day.

If someone ever called Jamie Hi-mee I would die. And call him that forever. :lmao:

Oh, wow. I never realized how close GF is to the Poly. They look like they're right next door from this perspective.

But the second floor rooms have nothing…
They have the big sliding doors, that just open up to nothingness.
(Well, there’s a fence there, of course. :thumbsup2)

I didn't know this. Weird...:confused3

Well, we piled in the elevator….
The CM reached out to the buttons…
And he hit…

NUMBER 3!!!!!!

WE HAVE A BALCONY PEOPLE.

:cheer2::banana:

I had a bit of a scratchy throat last night when I was going to bed.
Luckily I was completely fine in the morning, but if I got super ill and had to stay in this room for the next two weeks, I wouldn’t even be mad.

I hope you stayed healthy but I love your optimism. :thumbsup2

Once I made it onto the balcony I literally had tears in my eyes, and I’m not even ashamed.
I can’t believe a view like this actually exists in real life.

I think your view is the best I've ever seen. Loved the pics and videos, thanks for sharing.

I don’t necessarily prefer one layout to the other, although the one thing missing from the Poly rooms is a full-length mirror! Which the other resorts tend to have on the back of the bathroom doors, right?
Anyway, that was the only tiny issue, and it really didn’t affect us much at all.

It would have been nice for the mirror selfie, no?

(Our last day was October 6th and my birthday is October 16th… Don’t judge  I only wore it on two occasions.)

No judgement here, it's totally reasonable that you're celebrating your bday. ::yes:: I almost put my birthday down for our April trip (it's actually in May).

and a carafe of water.

I've never seen a carafe of water like that. Did it come from the club lounge?

Can't wait to hear more about this amazing trip!! :goodvibes

OK now that I'm finally back and living in real life again and am back on the TR reading grind, let me just say I LOVE THIS SERIES OF TRIPS! I love everything about this! :)

Joining in! Loved your last trip report and am excited to follow along with this one too! Congrats on finishing your master's! I just finished mine so I understand your relief! Looking forward t o the next update!

-Erica

Just joining in for this trip report! :dumbo: I read your last one too before my trip. We also were in Disney the same time (Sept 25- Oct 2). It was by far one of my favorite trips to the WDW since I had never been in the fall. And....THAT VIEW!!!!! It makes me just want to direct deposit my paycheck to Disney right now! Look forward to the tuning in for the rest!:thumbsup2

I'm so excited you're getting this baby going! I have been on vacation the last two weeks and am super behind on all things DIS. But I am ready to get in the Disney spirit because I have my resort booked for my Dec trip and it's less than a year away which means I need lots of TR's and dining reports and all around DIS goodness to help me along :thumbsup2

Before I knew it, I was lying in bed on Monday night staring at the ceiling and counting down the hours until my alarm went off.
It finally chimed at 7am, and after not much sleep, I was up and raring to go!

giphy.gif

Disney adrenaline should be studied for science.

SO TRUE. And Kermit just expresses the excitement so well!!

At around 1pm they finally called our cabin!!
We were flying Premium Economy, so we had priority boarding.
And more importantly,
Unlimited free alcohol.
GO GO GO.

Did someone say free alcohol???
mtljYRPxYgnKw.gif

I sent her this in reply…

23165004654_6f6dfc5c53_c.jpg

That's a true talent that High-Mee has :rotfl:

Thankfully the stewards noticed my despair at being used as a human pillow, and kept the vino flowing.

23767043336_e76377c344_c.jpg

You look so freakin happy :rotfl2:

Did they mark on the map where the Titanic sank in 1912? Am I reading that right? That seems very...morbid for a long plan ride :scared::rotfl:

I decided to watch Spy, has anyone seen it?!
We saw it at the cinema, I find it so hilarious.

Yes!!! I love that movie! Melissa McCarthy is my favorite!
bSgFCcqzuYmmQ.gif

Now that we’re in the main terminal, it’s time to find the Magical Express :hyper:

But didn't you have a map??? :confused3;)

When we greeted the DME check-in lady, she asked,
“Katie and Jamie?”
…But she pronounced Jamie, like… High-Mee…?!
What the heck!?!?!
Neither of us had EVER heard this word/name before?!?
Sorry for our British ignorance, but is this how you pronounce Jamie in the Americas?! :rotfl:
I could be wrong, but I think it could be a Mexican/Spanish thing? :confused3
I wonder if any of you have been reading his name like this?!
(If you have, it’s JAY-Mee!!!)
We found this really funny, I still call him High-Mee to this day.
(And this wasn’t the only time someone pronounced it like this on this trip!!!)

That is very much a Spanish/Mexican thing...lots of them here in South Texas but it's usually spelled Jaime not Jamie :rotfl:

Our first look at the brand new lobby!!!!
We saw the old water feature in 2012, and we saw it completely boarded up and under construction last year, but THIS is by far my favourite of the three views!

23684436032_cffe8c04eb_b.jpg

Soooooo pretty! Although I will admit that I miss the water features and waterfalls...I stayed at the Poly several times as a kid and it just doesn't look the same anymore :(
It is very beautiful though!

Well, we piled in the elevator….
The CM reached out to the buttons…
And he hit…

NUMBER 3!!!!!!

WE HAVE A BALCONY PEOPLE.

party:

The smile on my face was so obnoxious.

Yesssssss...that is awesome!! :banana::banana:

I’d seen pictures of these rooms from every angle before coming here, and none of them will ever do justice to the real thing!
GAHHH it’s so beautiful.
And HUGE!

23793018745_007376bb12_b.jpg

Wow, that is a gorgeous room!!

We had an UNBELIEVABLE theme park view room!!!

23684547522_f0d8461e69_b.jpg

OH MY :love::love:

(This entire trip I was in a constant battle with the curtain pole. Here's where it all started.)

"Ouch" :rotfl:You poor thing! We are laughing with you, not AT you though ;)

We stood outside for a while and took in the atmosphere.
There were speakers on the ground playing Hawaiian music, it was so relaxing!

23164842814_fd4743db84_b.jpg

I could stare at that view all day!!

I tried my hardest to unpack, I really did.
But it’s so hard when this is right outside.

23425025959_182ccb3c78_b.jpg

Absolute perfection :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

(Also, I love that you can see the Contemporary right out the window!)

That's so awesome! Ahhh, I just booked Beach Club and had decided that I was going to stick with that rather than trying to find availability for Bay Lake at 7 months out (DVC rules/timelines) but now these pictures have me second guessing myself! The MK area resorts are so amazing!

But I made it out alive to find THIS!!!

23166127793_1b518b24c7_b.jpg

SO AWESOME!!!

High-mee looks so pleased at something in this picture :rotfl:

I got ready for bed in the bathroom, and when I turned around I saw THIS at the door.

23166084533_79db23dc4b_b.jpg

BAHAHAHA :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Awesome, awesome updates!! I can't wait to read more!!!! :hyper::hyper:

I literally feel like a Dis failure.:( Just this morning I thought to myself "Hmm, self, I haven't seen any updates from Katie's TR in a long time, I wonder where she's been?!" SO I come on the Dis, and look at my watched threads page and your TR ISN'T THERE! :scared1: I commented after your first day at DLP and never hit the watch thread link. I have so much catching up to do now!

Really enjoying your trip report so far!

I think the pronunciation "HIGH-mee" is more prevalent in spanish speaking communities (which in Orlando is very common!)

I LOVE the Poly lobby refurb. I loved the water feature but the open-ness of the remodel makes it look HUGE!

Its amazing you got to see Hallowishes from your balcony. Even better that you could hear all the music!

Cant wait to read about the rest of your trip!

Manchester looks almost EXACTLY like Oregon. Clearly, I must come visit someday.

It's a sign!!!

Seriously, I need to fly Virgin Atlantic. The screens on the seats, the alcohol, the food - it all looks SO MUCH BETTER then practically any other airline I have flown.

Virgin Atlantic is so good, I'm reluctant to ever fly with a different airline now. They're so comfortable!

HAHA. My husband's name is Sterling and people get it wrong all. The. TIME. Which I then of course make fun of. To him, not the person getting it wrong. Because I am a loving wife like that. I hardly ever call him Sterling myself anyway. I call him Pookie. Which he might find embarrassing but he doesn't read the DIS the way I do, so tough luck buttercup!

:rotfl: Sterling is a great name, it makes me think of Sterling Holloway :goodvibes Ha Pookie, how cute! I can only see it being embarrassing if that's how you introduce him to strangers...
"Hey Bob, this is my Pookie! Pookie, this is Bob."
Jamie and I call each other Bean 99.99% of the time. People probably think we're crazy.
"Bean, I need your help with something." "Two minutes Bean, I'm busy right now." "Ok Bean." :goodvibes

Wow - your room was amazing!! For some reason a few of the pics aren't showing up for me, but the ones of the main part of your room and the view are awesome. I would love to stay there someday!

Can't wait to read more! :thumbsup2

ETA: And... I just saw your post with the videos of the fireworks outside your room. WOW! I admit I am feeling a bit green with envy right now!!

Seeing the fireworks from our room was amazing!!!! I know, even I'm kinda jealous of my former self... If that's possible :confused3  I hope you get to stay there some day!

I just can't imagine getting a choice of food on a plane!! Shocking!! I guess on a flight of 8 hours they HAVE to feed you something...but still a choice seems so luxurious lol

Haha! Yeah it's pretty great, I'm a picky eater so it's nice to have options :thumbsup2

Lollies...is that as in...ice cream? Popsicle?? Or lollipop?? British term again, right? Looks good whatever it was lol

OOPS! Yes, the lolly would be a popsicle I think?! It's not ice cream, it's like a frozen ice lolly... Jeez whoever thought it would be so difficult to speak the same language!!

I loved that movie. LOL funny.

I'm glad you've seen it, it really makes me laugh! And it was quite underrated over here. We've watched it a couple of times since it came out and I still laugh, even at the parts I know are coming up :goodvibes

So awesome. You are so lucky to have stayed at the Poly.

I know! I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay there, it was a dream come true! :lovestruc

Hallowishes from the balcony?!?!? Shut.Up. That's amazing. I can live without club level, but this is totally on my bucket list now!

Haha, I know!!! It was incredible. I hope you get to see it sometime!

Enjoyed your "I Can Fly" flight video.

Wow, this is so exciting to read about! Looks like you had a perfect room at the Poly. Those chocolates on the pillow -- did they have pineapple filling, or was the pineapple just on the wrappers?

Americans usually do say "Jamie" the way you do, but I think "Jaime" is pronounced like "high-me".

BTW, only a couple more months until "Fuller House" starts. Have you seen the trailer?

It was so perfect, I couldn't have asked for a better room :lovestruc I thought the same thing when I first saw them, but the chocolates on the pillow were just solid chocolate, which I'm glad about. I don't think I would've liked them if they had a pineapple filling

Ahh yeah, that's what I understand now thanks to everyone's comments :goodvibes She must've misread Jamie for Jaime.

Meeep I know! Is it February 26th? YES I've seen the trailer with the puppy! I was sat there trying to figure out who's voices I could hear behind the door but I'm not sure. I hope John Stamos is in it a fair amount :lovestruc HOW is that man in his 50s?!?

I've been quietly reading the last couple of updates but I just can't believe how beautiful that room is!:worship:

I have been nagging my boyfriend to take one more trip back before we do Disneyland and i'm bribing him with these pictures:rolleyes1 We promised ourselves we'd stay at the Poly next time we went.

So excited to read more, it's slowly getting easier and easier with my PDD.....

I'm glad you've joined the comments! :goodvibes UGH I know I still can't believe that room was real. Oh that's awesome! I hope you get to stay at the Poly soon! Disneyland is just as exciting to me because I've never been :sad2: but I will in the next few years for sure! Have an amaaaazing time :goodvibes

That room and view are amazing - and you got to stay there two whole weeks????

Your last TR is one of the reasons I've booked BC for my next trip - now you've got me thinking that I'll have to try and do the Poly too!

By the way I saw this and thought of you :cutie:

images

I know!! Yeah we stayed there for two weeks :lovestruc

Yay! You are going to LOVE the Beach Club!!! I hope you have a wonderful time! I really like the room refurb that's happened since we stayed there. Is your ticker for that trip? It says 9 months away, will you be there for Food and Wine?! If so, that is such a great decision, nothing beats being able to walk into Epcot!
Haha oh no, I hope I don't confuse your plans too much!! But I'm sure you'll love wherever you stay :goodvibes

Omg LOL! That IS me!! :rotfl2: But do you know what would be even more like me... "I'll have you know I'm LEAVING Disney World, and I've only cried 10 times." :rotfl: Gosh Disney really is a rollercoaster of emotions. Maybe I need some professional help

Wow your view is absolutely amazing and OMG you did well to stay awake :rotfl2:

I know! I couldn't have asked for a better room :goodvibes And it was probably the excitement that kept us awake, but if you're struggling to keep your eyes open, that Hawaiian music is your worst enemy  it was so soothing, just thinking about it makes me sleepy :faint:

Yippee! You made it! Your videos were great. I love the water pageant. When I was a kid my family a
Ways stayed at Fort Wilderness and watched the parade. I haven't seen it in many years. I'm hoping to stay at a monorail resort just to give my kids the experience of watching it and the fireworks on the beach. The Poly is my dream resort to visit. I'm really looking forward to reading how your stay went.

Thank you! That sounds great, I hope you get to stay at a monorail resort! In 2012 we just visited the Poly one evening to watch the water parade and the fireworks! It was so magical! So even if you aren't planning on staying there sometime soon, you could always do that next time :goodvibes

WHAT A VIEW!!! I am so glad you guys got the chance to upgrade. If you ask me... WORTH IT!! It sounds like a tired but great first day. I can't wait to hear more about High-mee and your TR. High-mee LOL! Classic!

I KNOW!! I think it was worth it too, especially since there was a lot of construction on the other side of the longhouse (which we didn't notice at all) :goodvibes

Haha Hymie will never hear the end of that! :rotfl: Thanks for reading! Little Pooh Bear in your avatar is STILL melting my heart :lovestruc

It is indeed a Spanish thing. There is a name, Jaime (notice the difference in spelling!), that is quite common at least in Florida. Since the "J" in Spanish is pronounced as an "H", it is "High-Meh". With just one letter difference in the spellings of Jaime and Jamie and the Spanish name common in Florida, it's easy to see why there might have been several mix-ups!

This makes sense, thanks for clarifying! I guess she just misread Jamie for Jaime. But someone else did the same thing later in the trip, which made us question it!

If only you were a little enthusiastic about it.
It'd make for a better TR.
Just sayin'.

:rotfl2: thanks for the tip! :rotfl:

Oh, you poor thing! How ever did you manage?

I actually made a mistake in that first post, I said that we got home on Friday night when actually we got home on Saturday night. So I actually only had Sunday and Monday to prepare!! Which WAS difficult, but still probably considered a first world problem

Ugh... I hate that. And there's nothing you can do about it.
Well... there is. But then you don't wake up in the morning.

There would be NOTHING worse than sleeping through your alarm on Disney day :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

A real man steps out of the shower and doesn't even touch his hair.
(An old man does that too. But only because he doesn't have any.)

At least you have plenty on your upper lip :thumbsup2

Love that gif.

Have you seen the movie?! The Muppets (2011). It's so fun.

Tea. Whatevs. But... did someone say SHORTBREAD!?!?!?!?!?

panic_zpsyeaj3gr7.gif

HOW did you add that little man?!

And Jamie gets to pull two of them.

There are so many "movements" online telling us girls to be strong, independent women who don't need no man, but at the end of the day, he's just stronger than me, and I'd rather not end up on the floor of the airport under a pile of luggage (my carry-on and my handbag included)

I'd much rather get through security and be settled and ready 2 hours ahead then be at security frantically checking the time.

Me too! All morning the thought of missing our flight is always in the back of my mind, and I'm not completely happy until we're at the gates with our boarding passes in hand. So I was not complaining at being super early :goodvibes

Niiiice. And then you watch the riff raff board.
Please tell me you looked down upon them with contempt.

Bahaha noooo! I have flown riff raff many a time!!

I didn't get the attraction (we try for the first row (more leg room)) until I read...

...that.

Honestly, I flew to New York a few years ago, and there was a kid kicking my seat the ENTIRE flight. Even when I asked (very politely) if they could keep an eye on their kid's feet. Seriously, the ENTIRE 7/8 hour flight. I don't think I've ever been so frustrated. So having that back row really sets my mind at ease!

Were the waters supplied? Or did you bring those?

Supplied :thumbsup2 You can ask for more too. We always have to buy bottled water in Florida, so I wonder how many bottles you could hoard from the plane..?!

Thank goodness for those pepper slices. Otherwise it might not look appetizing.

:rolleyes2

:lmao:

:lmao: Oh, Katie. You could do sooo much better.
Tell him that. He'll never steal your window seat again.

I wonder how he would react right now if I just stared at him deadpan and said "I can do so much better than you." without any context

SHORTBREAD!!!!!

panic_zpssttlc14x.gif

HOW.

No. Good?

So funny!

Aaahhhh! It's a giant eye! It probably belongs to that giant hand!

You crack me up :rotfl2:

Guess we're lucky. We get to clear in Canada so once we land we don't have to get in line for that at least.

That is lucky, although it might add to the nerves of missing my flight... How long does it take?

Same. Magical Depress on the way home.

Love it. I go with Tragical Express for the departure but I like Magical Depress equally.

What? I saw @TiffanyA answer to this, so I guess it makes sense, but...
I immediately thought of Himey from Get Smart (movie or TV series.)

I don't know this reference :confused3

I would hate that.
I would insist on not having a ground floor.
The sound of 2nd floor guests falling to their collective deaths would keep me up at night.

:lmao:

We then walked past it to our actual room, which was 3517.

You're killing me! :rotfl:

Okay I'd eat them with one hand while I was putting my suitcase down with the other.
(Unless of course I had my hands full with two, like Himey. Then I'd just pounce on them, mouth first.)

That's quite the image.

Yumm! How does one sneak into there when one is staying at a lowly Value resort?

Use your Dis networking to your advantage and someone will let you in! Just kidding, that's probably against the rules, but if you were around in September I'm sure I would've been able to bring you a slice of cucumber outside :thumbsup2

Mmmm.... Multi-grain bread.

I hope this isn't sarcasm! I multi-grain bread is the only break I buy at home!

Love Hallowishes! And you got such great view!

I knowwwww! You can really appreciate the panoramic fireworks from the Poly!

Oh really?! How did you imagine his voice?!
Haha yeah, that was how excited I was to be arriving

Thanks for reading, deer!!!

Haha Hymie will never hear the end of that! :rotfl: Thanks for reading! Little Pooh Bear in your avatar is STILL melting my heart :lovestruc
First, Hymie will go done in legend. So that is always a positive. Second, that kid just keeps getting cuter every day. Thank goodness he looks like his mother. I'll post another one so your heart continues to melt.

:rotfl2: thanks for the tip! :rotfl:

That's why I'm here. To help.
Of course.

I actually made a mistake in that first post, I said that we got home on Friday night when actually we got home on Saturday night. So I actually only had Sunday and Monday to prepare!! Which WAS difficult, but still probably considered a first world problem

Yes. I would consider that a first world problem.
But just barely.

There would be NOTHING worse than sleeping through your alarm on Disney day :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

I don't think that's possible.

Normal morning routine:
<Alarm rings> "mmrble... shwehhh... whaa??" <Hand reaches out. Hits snooze.> (Repeat several times.) Finally stagger out of bed and stare at self in mirror hoping somehow you'll wake up eventually and recognize the bed-headed person in the mirror.

Disney trip morning routine:
<Alarm begins to ring><Springs out of bed less than one micro-second later does a cartwheel and turns off alarm.> "I'M GOING TO DISNEY!!!!!" <Dances.>

At least you have plenty on your upper lip :thumbsup2

I'm trying to grow it out really long so I can comb it over my head.

Have you seen the movie?! The Muppets (2011). It's so fun.

No! Guess I should.

HOW did you add that little man?!

I BEG YOUR PARDON?!?!?!?

Oh! You mean the smiley guy!
Phew!

There are so many "movements" online telling us girls to be strong, independent women who don't need no man, but at the end of the day, he's just stronger than me, and I'd rather not end up on the floor of the airport under a pile of luggage (my carry-on and my handbag included)

"In today's news, a young lady was smothered to death at Orlando airport when she tried to carry all her suitcases by herself."

All morning the thought of missing our flight is always in the back of my mind, and I'm not completely happy until we're at the gates with our boarding passes in hand.

::yes::

Bahaha noooo! I have flown riff raff many a time!!

And that's why you have to take the opportunity!

Ugh. No wonder you want that back row!

Supplied :thumbsup2 You can ask for more too. We always have to buy bottled water in Florida, so I wonder how many bottles you could hoard from the plane..?!

Ah. Our last flight, we flew "Plus". The first 4-6 rows had water bottles at each seat.
Except the seats weren't all being used.
When the plane landed, all the bottles went crashing to the floor and slid under the seats.

I wonder how long they'll keep that practice going?

I wonder how he would react right now if I just stared at him deadpan and said "I can do so much better than you." without any context

Don't do it! I couldn't stand to be partially responsible for crushing his poor little heart!

Okay, I'll tell you. Not hard. It's just a gif. You add it just like a picture.

You crack me up :rotfl2:

I'll alert all the king's horses and all the king's men.

That is lucky, although it might add to the nerves of missing my flight... How long does it take?

Not long at all. Usually just a few seconds... hmmm... 30?
Unless of course you're really stupid and bring an underage child with you and don't have a letter from her other parent with you.
But who would do something that dumb?

Love it. I go with Tragical Express for the departure but I like Magical Depress equally.

Oohh... I like that one too.

I don't know this reference :confused3

Well the TV show was wayyyyyy before your time. But the movie is fairly recent. 2008 With Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway

"Please. I've spent all my money to come to Disney. Now I'm destitute. Could you spare a slice of cucumber?"

I hope this isn't sarcasm! I multi-grain bread is the only break I buy at home!

No! Not sarcasm at all! I love multi-grain bread!

Oh really?! How did you imagine his voice?!

I don't know. Hmmmm.... A little deeper maybe?
Voices always take me by surprise when I first hear them.
When I read, I suppose I narrate in my mind and that's what they sound like...
Without "sounding" at all.

Thanks for reading, deer!!!

:sad2:

Definitely there for food and wine. I've managed to time this trip perfectly so that I can do food & wine, MNSSHP and MVMCP all in the one trip.

I'm doing a split stay though - Wilderness Lodge to start, Old Key West, then a Disney cruise and finally finishing it all off at Beach Club. Now if only I could fit the Poly in there somewhere too....:scratchin

Omg LOL! That IS me!! :rotfl2: But do you know what would be even more like me... "I'll have you know I'm LEAVING Disney World, and I've only cried 10 times." :rotfl: Gosh Disney really is a rollercoaster of emotions. Maybe I need some professional help

I'm thinking of setting up some form of 12 step program for people with a Disney addiction - "just one more day at Disney please and then I promise I'll quit" - I'd probably be able to sign up half the boards (including myself)

Do we have to actually quit? I mean, I can. Anytime I want. Really.
