Everything Rope Drop

For tomorrow morning at AK, for rope drop with opening time of 8, as i understand it, the best way is to be a the aoa bus at 6:30. Would it be just as good to get a lyft for like 6:50? or is availability and not letting cars in potentially an issue? Just trying to avoid walking to bus from little mermaid rooms and then standing for a while if Lyft could avoid that. Is there only 1 bus at that time? or if it get full, will there be another right behind? Sorry for questions-it's our first time and I have been pouring over these boards!
Often it seems buses are arriving slightly before cars are being allowed to enter parking so taking Lyft may put you slightly behind the buses but, not much and, it might be different. There is no guarantee day to day and park to park what will happen.

At park opening buses tend arrive at resorts and board fairly consistently.

What about Slinky, MFSR, and TOT? I was thinking Slinky first as that seems to build the fastest, then MFSR, then TOT since that is lower priority for me since I've been on it many times before.
Answering my own question here in case anyone else is interested. Based on research, actual and posted wait times for MFSR and Slinky go down significantly in the evening. TOT stays high with both actual and posted wait times. So I'm going to do TOT first and then either go to MMRR or MFSR depending on when my ROTR boarding group is called (if within first hour of open, MMRR for a shorter line that is on the way to ROTR; if not, MFSR since I should have time even if the line runs long). Slinky will be in the evening, as will MMRR if I don't do it in the morning. I have 2 days at HS plus a hopper so that should be plenty of time to get things done. If anyone wonders, RNRC is too intense for me now, though I did love it when I was younger. But if you're doing both TOT and RNRC, I'd say TOT first then RNRC based on my research.

I'm trying to figure it out and google didn't help - what is MFSR?

If not rope dropping, is it better to arrive in the afternoon, around 12 PM (for an 8 AM opening at MK) to allow the morning crowds time to file in? Or are the crowds entering the same regardless of what time of day?

People report the busiest times appear to be from about 11am - 4pm. Arrival crowds would probably be lower at 12 PM but inside the park you may find it's busier.

I agree with your research but the only downside of TOT first is that it seems like it has more of a tendency to get up and running later than the other rides. I have seem multiple reports of people going to TOT at rope drop only to find that it is not running yet and then they are too late to take full advantage of rope dropping Slinky. For that reason I think we will plan on rope dropping Slinky and then MFSR rather than TOT.

Not a bad point. Maybe I should do the same, at least for the first day, so I can get those out of the way.

I typically stay at the Beach Club so I am used to walking straight to HS for rope drop in the morning. Going to stay at POP for a short 3 day trip this fall Oct 15-17. We will be rope dropping HS and I was wondering if anyone has experience with this.

I know the skyliner is a super convenient option, but with having to disembark at CBR and get in another line would we be at the park early enough to benefit from rope drop? Personally I get up super early and am usually the first person in the transportation lines, so I am confident I would be one of the first in line at POP. Just wondering how long the line gets at the transfer station in the morning at CBR.

Would a better option be taking the bus to HS in the morning? If we get the first bus, does that typically get there in time for rope drop?

I'm expecting higher crowds than typical for October due to the 50th anniversary, so trying to think ahead for these types of things.

Thanks!

POP currently doesn't run the buses when the Skyliner is running. AoA does and it might be the better option - the bus does typically get to HS in time for rope drop. It's true that the Skyliner backup at CBR can really throw a kink in the plans. The line can get very long at that station.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't know that about the buses, so I'm glad I asked! AoA was almost $300 additional per night, and truthfully for a short trip thats just not worth it to me. Maybe if we were going to go to HS more than once, but its only one day for us! I guess we will just cross our fingers that the CBR line isnt horribly long! Could also consider an uber to HS as well I guess!

EARLY IS THE KEY!

Here was our experience in January for a 9:00 AM DHS open.

Arrive at PopArt Station at 7:15 AM-VERY short line.

First Flight at 7:32 AM.

Board our Gondola at 7:35 AM.

Arrive at CBR Station at 7:38 AM.

Short lines at CBR Station.

First Flight to DHS at 7:45 AM.(Line is rapidly building by this point.)

Arrive at DHS before Cars and Buses begin arriving.

DHS opens at 8:05 AM for "official" 9:00 AM open.

Two walk-ons for Slinky Dog.

GROOVY way to start the day!:)

Awesome! Thanks for the breakdown. I'm sure our wait times will be a little longer because of the 50th, but that gives me hope to still be able to make rope drop work fairly well! I live to rope drop so I will get to the POP station wayy before it starts operating for the day, so I feel confident we could be the first if not one of the first in line!
