Everything Rope Drop

What time are parking lots opening these days? Specifically I’m wondering about Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

I asked on another thread the other day and got no answers. I‘m sure someone here knows!

AK and Epcot, parking at each park "typically" opens one hour before published opening
I have read posts where they started letting them through 15 minutes earlier than that.

Thanks. Yes, this was my experience in November. I was just curious if things had changed. It sounds like it’s still the same.

Now that rope drop at DHS is back to "normal" does anyone have a recent timeline of when guests are allowed through each stage or holding point. I've only ever rope dropped during the COVID changes and I know that's very different from how it usually works.

@lovethattink and I are watching for new patterns and will update this thread accordingly.

Can confirm that today was a traditional rope drop at HS, held until 8:30, went with the toy story mob, once in toy story land CMs telling crowd that slinky was down, many still lined up. We did TSMM, aliens, muppets, Disney junior & slinky was still down, ToT said 40min but we were on & off in less than 30.

I just about flip my lid when they wait until we arrive to a rope drop ride and THEN they tell us it is down!

I have seen the reports of rope drop coming back to the other parks- Can Anyone who has been to Magic Kingdom in the last week/few days let me know what your experience was? Thanks, we are heading there tomorrow can't wait!

No regular rope drop yesterday. We arrived from ferry early and walked straight to Frontierland.

Have a great time!!! It was awesome yesterday.

I do MK tomorrow, and will update then. But EP old style rope drop was a crowded mob mess. And especially horrible trying to RP TT from IG (the hold in Canada put us behind the people from the front gate... we arrived early, before 10:10 on 6/21.

However Ak did not revert to old style rope drop yet, and it was lovely. As soon as we parked we were allowed to make our way onto our first ride, which was already running! It was so amazing, no waits all morning in Ak on 6/20. Parking gates opened at 6:58. Some busses beat us to the gates, but it looked empty due to not being held anywhere. We were done both Pandora rides before 8! Then we snacked on Pongo lumpia for breakfast. Then rode EE twice (0 wait) then rode dinosaur, then rode Kali twice , all with 0 wait. Then we watched some animals a bit before lining up for the lion king show at 10am (10:30 show did not fill and people walked in to decent seats at 10:29). When I say 0 wait, I really mean it, we did not stop walking to board EE, dinosaur, or Kali. We waited a few min for Fop. And even less for NRJ.

Hi! If anyone was at MK today for RD would you please share as much detail as you can about the process and what you got done? Thank you in advance!
I’m usually more of a lurker than a poster, but I was at MK for rope drop this morning. We were on the first bus from Art of Animation and arrived around 6:50, but they wouldn’t let us start unloading the bus until 7:00. By around 7:15 or so we were through security and waiting to scan in. Once we scanned in they held us at the train station until a little before 7:30. (I have a picture of us walking down Main Street at 7:27.) We were heading for Seven Dwarfs, and they held us again on the path to the right of the castle until almost exactly 8:00.

My guess is that we had about a 15 minute wait for the ride, but there were tons of people behind us who I’m sure waited longer. We were going to try Peter Pan next, but it already had a 45 minute wait, so we continued on to Splash instead. That wait was listed as 15 minutes, and I have a picture of us on the ride at 8:52 AM. From there we split up and went to Big Thunder and Pirates, both with 20 minute waits, and I think that was pretty accurate.

After taking a snack break, we were able to do Dumbo, The Barnstormer, and The Little Mermaid before an 11:00 lunch at The Plaza. We got a lot done, but the morning definitely didn’t go as I expected it would.

We were at MK yesterday for the first day of traditional rope drop. It all got started later than I would have liked, and crowds were tight and pushy, but still got to do a lot.

We walked over from Bay Lake tower at 7am. Held in front of train station until 7:25. I thought that was it, but then there was another pre-ride hold (for us this was on the bridge by T cups, since we were headed to mine train. They didn’t release until 8:00. We were at the front sine we walked fromBLT. So we were off SDMT fast, but not fast enough to avoid a huge crowd of people outside Space MtN (and a 40 min posted wait) Btw. Pooh was also not operating when we walked by (which was probably around 8:10 or 8:15). So we skipped Space and did BLSRS (walk-in), BTMRR (about 10 min wait), Splash (about 15 min wait), Pirates (about 5 min wait but posted was 20), and then went back to Space which still had the same 40 min posted wait (it was about 30 min).

After this experience, and since we already rode mine train once. For today’s MK rope drop we are gonna leave later. The crowd before 8am was not pleasant. So we will just skip mine train and arrive around 7;45 to plan to start joining the crowd at 8 for some rides

In Magic Kingdom today. They started letting us through the turnstile at 715. Everyone was held at land entrances until 8:00. We headed to straight to space mountain. The wait jumped to 30 minutes before we made it inside. Seems the normal opening has returned.

Thanks for the update. Same happened yesterday so you're right that MK is back to the old style of rope drop. The only park that seems to be doing the modified rope drop is AK and I'm guessing that will change any day also.
