Everything Park Reservations - Please Read Post 1

The new Dreamlight Parade has been scheduled for 2 times a night with different direction as if that will help with crowd flow at MK .
And if you don’t have your Park Pass Reservations , I expect Capacity issues will be announced !

Currently I would like to know who made the decision to limit Passholders to 3 or 5 at a time.
It is very frustrating to plan Park Pass at this time of year knowing my family will visit from Texas for July 4 and Thanksgiving and Xmas and NYEve .
All vital dates to make those reservations in advance if I want to enjoy their visit . I have had to book those dates and now I need to hope for a Good to Go Day just to enjoy my pass. I got lucky last week Disney marked 2 good to go days. On the Calendar…
It’s not a problem any other time of the year but the holidays for the rest of the year and wanting and needing EPCOT for Guardians and return of Test Trak and MK Dream Parade and huge firework celebrations …
3 or 5 is not enough !
And crowds are very busy at Disney Springs last Thursday and Friday by mid morning !

So I assume you're local to WDW and don't stay onsite with a reservation - where you could make the park reservations for the entire length of your stay? If that's true, you might've answered your own question regarding why they do the restrictions on just the AP park reservations - they want you to stay onsite!

The holiday times you're talking about here won't have any Good to Go Days, I'm sure. They only pop up a couple weeks in advance during expected lower crowd days.

Do you currently need a park reservation if I plan on trying to join a virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy at 7am?

There are many threads pinned at the top of the Themes Park Board. They all contain current information in post 1. You may wish to read those to find out the current offerings and plans for visiting WDW.

I honestly don’t feel we truly know have a definitive answer to this at this time as the wording on the Disney website is not clear enough.

This is the website wording and we truly don’t know if ‘theme park reservation’ means a reservation at any of the parks or if it is specifically a MK theme park reservation? It truly can be interpreted both ways.

If it were me and I were an AP, if I wanted to visit MK in the evening to see the parade I would book MK, go there first to tap in then hop to the park I really want to visit then back to MK. Yes, A LOT more work but until we have a definitive answer would give an AP peace of mind that they could access MK for the parade.

Guaranteed access that way is something other guests may not have as I’m wondering for some time if MK might fill to capacity and PH being stopped?

Only time will tell once Jul 20 arrives.
I saw an article this morning on one of the Disney blogs that said that AP holders without an MK park reservation were turned away at MK. So I think although the wording is unclear, what it means is that Passholders visiting MK must have an MK park reservation.

I'm hoping someone here on the DIS will have an actual experience to report. As for myself, I booked 3 days at MK for our upcoming trip. I'm actually going to hop there tomorrow, since I'm starting at Epcot in the late afternoon, but I'm assuming that since my park rez is for MK, I'll be allowed in. I'd better be! And meanwhile, I'm not amused that I can't just hop there to ride TBA or have lunch or whatever because of these rules.

Ever since they changed the park reservation system, I've been wishing (futilely) that they'd change the rules for out-of-state APs. But no, it hasn't happened and I doubt it will.

Not persona experience, but I did see on social media that people were able to hop to MK from other parks.

Their own wording states that A park reservation is needed (and A reservation for Epcot is A park reservation). No where does not state A MK park reservation required. I tend to not believe the reports that someone was turned away with a valid reservation to A park. I can see people screaming on the Internet they were turned away but left out the part that they had NO reservation of any sort.
I'll know first hand on Thursday. I have less than 0% worry about it

While we appreciate this, there are conflicting reports of what people say is ACTUALLY happening.

I have requested AP guests who have personally attempted to access MK with/without a reservation (but with a reservation to a different park that was activated by visiting that park) July 20th or later, to share their personal experiences here. Pointing out what is written on their website is fruitless if it's not what is actually happening to guests in the parks.

Please don't share what you have read or heard. For the sake of assisting other guests, we are currently looking for first hand, personal experiences only.

Thank you!

I find no end date listed from Disney in regards to when it will stop. Correct? I bought an AP for myself 60th bday bash as we will be there for 18 days starting at the end of August. And it figures right before my trip the rules change. Wish i bought a 10 day ticket instead and did othet non disney stuff

We honestly do not know if rules have changed or not. So far we have not had any personal accounts so we don't know if the rules have changed.
