Sorry if I dont get it.... this is our first trip. So will my 2 children age 5 & 11 get a room card that has their tickets on them and the dining plan or is it only on the adult cards.

Not so much the park tickets but how would you keep track of the dining plan credits? and does everyone in the group need to present the card when dining?

If I should ask this somewhere else please let me know.

Sorry if this has already been asked before.
Everyone will have their own room key which will have their tickets encoded on it. It is my understanding that each key will also have the dining plan information encoded on it. However, you only will need to use one key when paying for a meal. On the receipt that you get it will show how many meals you have left for all of you, not just the card that was used to pay for the meal. Each key has the information on it because each person needs the ability to pay for a meal if they happen to be by them selves at any time.

Do you have to use a CC or can you use a Debit Card, I mean to put it all on the room key?
:thumbsup2 Debit card is just fine. I did it that way. It was SOOOO nice to have just one withdrawal/debit from my checking account rather than a week's worth of separate transactions for every meal, snack, souvenir, drink, etc.

You can also give cash to your resort's front desk and have your room charge paid for that way. You can lose cash in the parks, but if you lose your key card you just have them cancel it and issue you a new one. Sounds more practical to me than cash.

I thought I did read that if you want to restrict the dining plan to only specific Cards you could. That way it ensures you atleast see the rest of your family at meal times ;)

:wizard: This sounds simply WONDERFUL - cant wait to get mine! I love the idea of not having flimsy park tickets- I'm always so scared I'll accidentaly rip mine in half or something!

When you check in , instead of giving a credit card, you can sign a number of the travelers checks and use them instead of a credit card. You can then check at the front desk every now and then to see if you need to put more on the account.
I also think that you can give them a credit card to use on the account, and then go to the front desk and pay off what you owe before they ever actually put through a charge to the card. They only put through the charge if you get to the limit for your hotel. Each category of hotels have a different charging limit.

So say I bring $600 in travellers cheques with me for food and souvenirs. I can sign them over to the hotel when I check in and any charges I make on my room key will be deducted from that account? What happens if I only spend $500 during my trip, how do I retrieve the extra $100? Also, I'll be staying at CBR, do you know what the limit there is for CC?

Another Question:
Can you do this at a DVC resort? We are thinking of renting points?

Yes, you can. Last May I stayed at POP for two nights, then transferred to Boardwalk villas for five nights (on rented points), then transferred back to POP for the final two nights of my trip. At both POP and Boardwalk I was asked at check-in if I wanted to place a credit card on file for charges.

At the values the limit is $500.00, moderates $1000.00, and deluxe is $1500.00. If you go over that amount they will simply go ahead and charge your card and then you start over. Also if you don't want them to charge your card, be sure to go down the night before checkout to pay your balance with whatever currency you want. I found this out the hard way one time when I went downstairs at AKL the morning of check out only to find they charge your card about 2:00am the morning of check out (if you haven't paid your balance the night before).
