I know I posted a picture of the Magic Kingdom tree earlier in the TR, but this is a different tree. It's the tree from Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! (Ok, technically it's the same tree, but the other pictures were taken from the top of the double decker bus. So at least it's a different
angle)
Even though
MVMCP doesn't start until 7, your ticket gets you into the park starting at 4. We were a bit late in getting over from Animal Kingdom and didn't get our party wristbands until 4:05. Let's get moving, people! We've got valuable time to make up!
First Stop: Princess Tiana
After we left Tiana, the kids were feeling very brave. They wanted to take on the scariest ride they could. Something full of adventure! Full of mystery! Full of danger! Full of girls on boats winking at you!
Full of....whatever this kid is doing to that poor chicken...
Oh, there you are Perry.
After our death defying slow moving boat ride, we decided on something a little tamer - like flying out of control over, into and through a barn.
Ladies and Gentlemen, back by popular demand: Evan!
Well, after those two thrill rides, it's time to slow it down a little bit. How about some nice pictures of the mouses houses all lit up for the Holidays? Kind of sad, this was the last Christmas for Toon town. But on the bright side, those gigantic bulbs should be showing up in at a garage sale any day now!
And you though I was the only one that did puns...
Our plan was to eat dinner, then be ready for the party festivities to start right at 7. So we headed over to the old stand by, Comsic Ray's. We were a little better prepared this time, though, and staked out some seating before we ordered. I finished up eating first and ran back to Toontown to get in line for the Fairies. I arrived around 6:45 and still the 5th or 6th person in line.
Everyone else joined me right at 7 and we headed back, got shrunk down to fairy size, and we welcomed by Terrance
Tinker Bell
Kayden got a little extra special attention from Tink...
...and then a little EXTRA extra attention from Tink
Vidia was trying to figure out what he did to himself
If you've never seen the movies, Vidia is not the most friendly or personable fairy, as you can see when Madison went for a hug...
OK, enough of slow character stuff - it's time to let the wind blow through your hair while you cruise at top speed down the open road! Or at least suck some exhaust while plodding along slamming into rails.
Careful there, lover boy. Watch the road, not the girls in the next car.
Speaking of watching where you're going...
You can't really tell from the picture, but Bambi is actually simultaneously bucking herself in, trying to complete and sign her living will and medical directives, and just plain old wondering what the Beverly she just got herself into. Becasue if anyone can jump that guide rail and joy ride around Magic Kingdom, it's Evan.
DisDad meetup! Me and Ray (Disney Commando). Don't adjust your screens, we're just naturally that fuzzy.
We hustled over to the castle forecourt and settled in for the show. While we waited, Bambi and I headed over to the Tomorrowland Terrace for some hot chocolate and cookies. FREE hot chocolate and cookies! (OK, the party tickets were over $50 a piece, so actually it's the most expensive free hot chocolate and cookies you'll ever have, but still, the sign said FREE, so we took advantage). The lines were horribly long, but there were CMs there doing a pretty good job of keeping them from getting completely unruly. By the time we got up to the counter, we could see into the kitchen area where they were staging the cookies. Sugar cookies and sprinkles as far as you could see! Is this heaven? No, it's Disney World.
We grabbed as much as we could carry, made our way back through the crowd and joined up with the group just in time to watch the Christmas show on the castle stage.
UP NEXT: Pictures of the Parade. Lots and lots of pictures of the parade.
