Everyone says that you "live in your bathing suit and coverup" while on DCL...

...so I bought two new bathing suits today. What a PAINFUL experience in the middle of winter when your skin is all pasty-white and you are still carrying those extra holiday pounds.

Hopefully I'll be having so much fun on my cruise that I won't be self-conscious. Jeesh!

oh i know so well the feeling..... don't worry, you will be having so much fun and so will eeryone else that no one cares! you will be brown (or painfully red) in no time if you don't be careful!

My skin is pasty white ALL the time!! With all the cruising we do, I feel like I buy swimsuits by the dozen. And I get great deals on cover-ups in Nassau...the only time we ever leave the ship there is when I need some new ones. Otherwise, we just pretend it's a day at sea and hang out in the spa and whirlpools.

And if you're so inclined go tanning before you cruise. I thought I'd be polite and not blind everyone by my whiteness Course I can't say all parts are as tan as others...dunno how people get everything even...but by my standards I'm dark so that makes me happy. At least I can pretend I got tan on the cruise when I come back...

I don't tan, I burn unless I'm already tan which never happens cause I'm never out in the sun, but tanning before hand has really helped. Plus you get a few minutes of relaxation in your day!

Can you say...SELF-TANNER?

I am very pale also and do the self-tanner thing on my legs during the summer or if I'll be wearing shorts in the winter. I've already done enough sun damage to my skin so I definitely lather on the sunscreen, but the self-tanner takes the glare off my legs.

Okay, I also just have to say I got a new bathing suit today that I ordered from www.venusswimwear.com -- someone mentioned them last year on the Community Board and I bought one suit from them that I LOVE, and I love the new one too. Nothing like a new bathing suit to get you in that cruising mood!

Absolutely Michelle. I've got 4 of their suits and I love them. I'm getting ready to purchase another for our upcoming cruise. Since you live in your swimsuit while cruising you may as well have a good selection of suits. I'm fortunate though. I live in southern Florida so I'm working on my tan 365. The self tanners work well too.
